Yes, in retrospect it was a pretty dumb thing for me to say, wasn't it? Even in jest.
On a more serious note, the fact that EVE is a game in this case is irrelevant. The entirety of Project Gemini that has gone along with this crime - not just Demarcus and LiBraga - have shown that they have no loyalty to anyone, and I for one consider that your behaviour in the anonymous setting of the internet and the game reflect very much the kind of person you are in real life. The setting may be fictional, but you are still dealing with REAL people - people you pledged to aid, stand with, and in some cases lead.
YOU betrayed that vow. Not your character. Not some fictional entity or construct in the game. A real person sitting in a chair behind a computer sat down and deliberately and maliciously planned and enacted this betrayal. That takes this beyond "just a game". Real principles of honour and trust have been ignored here.
I apologize for my "made a call" comment. It was ill-considered, and such things should NEVER be taken lightly. I appreciate that it was, in fact, an incredibly stupid thing to say. If I ever meet you in real life, you will find me friendly and unwilling to bear a grudge.
That said, I am still entitled to pod you mercilessly.

I'm sorry, but are you sure you aren't overreacting?
I've apologized. The so-called "Death Threat" was a joke that Demarcus has taken and blown WAY out of proportion for the sole purpose of getting me into trouble that I don't deserve. It's taken out of context, and is being used as a weapon to make the whole alliance look bad, unfairly.
I appreciate full well that it was a tasteless and stupid joke, but honestly, setting a whole alliance to red because one guy ran his mouth off? That's not justice, to me that smacks of just grabbing hold of the first weak excuse that came your way. If that's an inaccurate assessment, then I apologise further, but nevertheless, this whole thing is making a mountain out of a molehill.
Which is made even worse because some people seem to be taking it as being more important than the theft perpetrated against us by Project Gemini. It seems to me that your priorities are askew. +++ FLA - The hardest thing in EVE is to be the good guys.

Edited by: Stitcher on 14/01/2007 22:24:54 Just to clarify - the theft came first, the "threat" came second.
Not the other way around.

Originally by: Darknesss Against our alliance both in empire and 0.0 space (your own space mainly) you have suffered over 1100 losses to us, while being involved in the death of 141 of us. And a large portion of those kills are with IRON involved.
While I usually try to stay out of this, I should point out that the vast majority of that 1100 comes from easy hauler and shuttle ganks. I'm yet to be in a fleet battle against you lot which didn't end in either A) we slap you silly or B) you see what you're up against and run away again.
Don't stroke your ego over taking down idiot hauler pilots who go afk. Anyone can do that, it's not exactly pro skillz. The only kills that truly matter to us are the fights between fleets of combat vessels, and I'm yet to see you come off better against us in an engagement of that type.
I have little patience for this brand of weenie-waving, however. Suffice it to say that the conversation would inevitably go as follows:
FLA: Claim Tri: Counter-claim FLA: Rebuttal Tri: counter-rebuttal FLA: Counter-counter-rebuttal and claim that Tri's information is innaccurate or misrepresented. Tri: Rebuttal with insult and statement of superiority FLA: response to aforesaid statement and notation to STFU Tri: Smack FLA: Smack Both: smacksmacksmacksmack rabble ad nauseum until the mods lock the thread.
Let's just skip all that, shall we? It's tedious and makes everyone involved look bad. +++ FLA - The hardest thing in EVE is to be the good guys.

We have our good days, we have our bad days.
The real point of my post is that both sides are going to misrepresent the other and spin the issue so that they come out on top. It's how things are done around here. Being aware of it, can we please skip all that tediousness and either get back to the topic at hand or just let this whole issue sink? I have no interest in a smacking match with one of my alliance's firmest adversaries. +++ FLA - The hardest thing in EVE is to be the good guys.
