Hey guys, just like to say it was a hell of a lot of fun today, I got poded for the first time in game, and lost a scorp, I feel so important, I had 18 ships fire and kill me, and I still got away in a pod, only to be killed near a station later without knowing what happend (too much lag), but it was fun none the less, I think mass has also lost another apoc, I heard scattered reports on CA losses, but don't really know.
It would be cool if people reported here, but tell the truth, and I want to know more info about what I think was the biggest battle in eve, ever!!!

Curse Alliance has just kicked EVOL's and SA's ass, i believe we had the numbers in the second fight and we killed alot more ships than they did, they warped out/ran.

To answer what the lag is like: Have you ever stuck a tooth-pick in a volcanoe? er...wait wrong analogy. Erm, lag is bad, as in Chaos server with 100 people logged into it bad, but even if you do load your screen, you need uber duber computer to run the graphics or it's choppy as hell, but its %^&*ING SWEET MAN! But yea they're fun, specially when your winning ;)

I can confirm we lost 5 ships (CA)
Map reports 23 lost ships in the last 24 hours.
But I'm sure we didn't hit and kill 18 enemy ships.
But it was an awesome battle on local. Everyone, AFAIK were civel, killed or ran 
Currently there are 91 on local, hey Ecliptical, maybe it's on of your alts. 
Great fight, and it continues.....
CA are not pirates, as though that know me, know damn well.
The dentists were always against piracy (we are one of the few corps that were prepared to declare war on SI, best regards to your clone Setec).
And as any corp from the MHDC knows, we are very ANTI-pirate.
I think the current CA corps (including corps like Sinister, to whom we also lost ships), are a great bunch of guys and gals, ready to defend what they (we) consider to be taken from the NPC rats in the region.
We will continue to protect our lines, keep our systm safe and destroy enemies entering Curse.

I'd like to see another TLA vs TLB battle on Chaos... that was well fun.
My side were so worked up that when we had killed everyone from TLA they started firing on each other. This was due to the fact the corp green tags were missing at the time... oh yeah and my uber bug meant my Maller killed battleships with one volley which confused the hell out of me as I would lose lock after 1 shot. I was cursing something awful as I didnt realise what was happenning until I checked my logs.
Oh yeah and what was worse was I blew up our own force commander commander by accident lol!

23 - 5 = 18, 3-5 lost to noobs, and give you 10% error = still equals 10.

Damn good fight (only now posting because I lost my Apoc). The lag in the first battle was so bad that I couldn't even the SA guys that had jumped into the system, or any of the missles being shot. I think the lag was bad enough that the GM left the system too

yeah just lost my scorp to a ctd. petitioned the loss as im not happy with it at all. they better do something about it instead of just pulling out some excuse. i can handle loosing a ship to combat etc etc but when its a bug it just puts you totaly off the game esspecialy when they wont do nout about it. i have pettitioned and im not playing until i get a reasonable responce. and they let me know they are fixing it.

Just like to say that was an awesome evening of massive battles. Thanks to friends and foes for the fun.
BUT...OMG the lag was horrible!!!!!
Was taking 40 seconds to lock even with a 2 second lock time. Modules didnt engage/disengage for like 30 seconds after clicking. Ships apeared and disapeared and I crashed 5 times but didnt lose my ship. I think I got 5 points of armour damage. I feel pretty lucky TBH.
I cant wait for the autoscanner to hit TQ trying to find targets in the slide show battle was a nightmare.
Overall though I must say...that rocked!!

loosing a ship to a bug esspecialy an expensive one that takes a long time to save for isnt fun. i dont know maybe i will be lucky and the devs can find the bug and reinburs me. but i dont want some silly excuse from the dev about x y and z. im a paying coustomer and it would be nice to be treated with some respect to. i have been loyal but i will admit having lost this ship to a bug (not my 1st lost to a bug) patience are wearing thin.

A damned fine battle indeed. that's the largest group of players in one system i've seen since alpha/beta. Well fought to all.
One more note, the lag was HORRIBLE! I could target one ship and that's it, frame rates was like 1 frame per minute and the reaction of command to game was, to say the least, left wanting.
But it was still damned fun, sorry to the gents who lost their stuff to lag and ctd. I hope the devs/GM's reimburse you, but i wouldnt bet on it. They have a pretty static reply to that one.
EDIT: Something else came to mind, when i recall a masive number of players in one system in the alpha/beta, the lag was pretty much as bad as it was tonight....funny how some things never change, except your credit card statement.

CCP should headlilne serious battles like this in their news column as well as website news. It is stories like this that can attract new players in the game rather than staged events.

Literally 15 mins ago I was involved in the jamming, warp scrambling and podding of Shrike and correct me if Im wrong but he is in evol. Was fun tho. Respect to all involved.
PS. Homo erectus why are you such a*****muncher? You werent even at the fight... I've heard you on eve radio and was suprised that you are indeed as annoying as i had imagined

This was some mad fight.
it took me like 5min to get into the system with loading on + another min to see all around me but wow it was some laggy but pretty sight.
It was mad fun and i really hope the next patch will fix this large battle lagg but i had my fun.

Got my Megathron blitzed ,never seen so many missiles come up as a threat (lit my screen up like a christmas tree) like that before. hehe, think i was first out of warp, oh well, it was fun, and whoever said Eve was getting boring, you obviously aint ever been in a battle like this, cos it was anything but boring. Lag was horrid, but we expected that and went ahead with the fight anyway.
I think that was indeed the biggest fight ever in eve. It was great fun.
We lost our first ship outside of a station to some CA peeps. (Shrike).
Oh and Zap, we left Syndicate because we ran out of station peircing ammo, and decided to pay the CA a visit again :>
Good fun, smack talk was virtually 0, nice attitude from all for a change.

It was a good fight with SA taking the jumpin point at first but the CA then taking and holding the VOL gate.
Lots of ppl "Ran" and lots of ppl jumped into almost certain death.
When my structure is 5% and my armour is less than 5% i take the strategic decision of trying to warp out, repair and rejoin the fight. (which in my case i did and count myself lucky to have "Escaped" at that point)
I¦m sure this goes for most of the players in this fight, nobody stays and gets killed if they can help it, but then again nobody just sits and watches the battle either (or do they?).
This was probably the biggest battle ive ever fought and ive fought a few. The lag factor was bad but it was not as bad as i for one expected. But it kinda sucks if you can¦t see your missiles and half your modules either don¦t activate or don¦t deactivate.
My hat off for all involved and may we fight another day..
PS: It would be nice to get a response from the Dev¦s (or the server pplz) about how the server was coping with 100+ ppl insystem and most of them at one point fighting. This could be a valuable insight into improving server performance

I would love to see a comment on this as well. Lag was certainly the biggest enemy for both sides tonight as I think both sides would attest to.
Anyways, as I said in another post, GG to all involved. Was a great time, even though I only caught the last few hrs or so due to work.

I have to agree, it was more like a slide show than an actual game. I think at one time we had at least 60-70 ships fighting in the initial battle. Damn good job on both sides. However, stain came back for more after most of evol logged and we took out another 5 bs's with at least same amount of cruisers so it was even more fun =)
Once again GG everyone and nice keeping it respectful and keeping that horrid trash talking at a minimum.

Hehe Zelota, Everlasting is Stain just to let ya know so it doesn't look like there was more outside assitance than there really was.
As for losses, No clue about CA's side and I was not around for the first two battles. But the third battle was definately CA's. As far as I know though we only lost 2 scorpions and some cruisers. Lots of damaged battleships though.
It is nice to actually read a forum on an engagement though and not see it turn into a mines bigger, no it's not, yes it is, flame match. Almost makes me not want to shoot you guys now...Almost..

Summary of the days events.
First fight - 40 SA/EVOL, 30 CA, CA in defencive position. 1 mass ship 1 EV ship went down. 4 CA ships went down. SA won the feild.
Second fight - Euros from SA went to bed plus we were in CA territory easy for them to re-enforce. 30 SA/EVOl 40 CA. SA had defencive position. CA won the feild but the ship destroyed count was still in the favor of SA. 2 b-ship lost from SA/EVOL, 4 CA ships lost/
Skirmishes with EVol - evol played with CA by themselves for awhile and was doing a good job but eventually shrike went down and they called it a night.
Fourth fight - we weren't ready to go home yet so we gave it one last push. Ca in defended position. Fight was about 15 on 15. 2 SA ships down no CA down. CA won the feild.
Then it was called a night.
Total b-ship loss not including cruisers. SA - 6 b-ships, EVOL - 1 b-ship, CA - 8 b-ships.
Pretty evenly matched day. I would consider CA the winner of the feild as a 10 hour battle in enemy territory was hard to keep men supplied. We were happy with the kill ratio nontheleast.
What I personally learned. Buy a new comp or dont engage that kinda madness anymore :)

I'm fairly sure that none of you will ever meet anyone as skilled as Homo Erectus.
He has singlehandedly routed pirates in PF and FD; he walked knowingly into a trap and ended up turning the tables on the opponents; he has won every single 1 vs 1 fight against those who gathered the balls to face him; and he never lies.
It is meaningless to say that the other evol people are differnt from him because we are all the same spirit. If he calls you an imbecile, we all refer to you as an imbecile.

lol redon u have to be the luckiest pilot alive amt as a couple of mass Bs's were firing on you for well over 2 mins after u had clearly gone all red in the target icon . As for the fight WOW, all 3 of my hardeners got stuck on along with my shield booster but none were taking cap, so in the second battle i just sat there and let about 8-10 ships fire on me, eventually warped out cause i was jammed and coudnt lock( think my radar strength was -58). I also hear monk got this invunribility bug aswell during combat

From what I just heard on TS/Corp channel, Crimsonjade just gave the most accurate representation of what happened.
I don't even want to contemplate how bad the lag was - the first skirmish involving 9 vs 9 was manageable (I had 5 ships targetting me or more - can only target 5 ships max ) enough for me to hit mwd and start target-jamming people as I got free of the 2 Ravens, 2 Doms, and 1 Tempest that was hitting me.
I doubt I'd bother fighting in a system with 70+ people in it - lag just contributes too much and skill too little.

BIG battle indeed.
I'm not going to argue numbers since I know the truth and you do aswell.
The lag was HUGE, specialy in the first big battle in HLW. My spec is a 1MB ADSL line, P4-3Ghz, 1Gb ram and a radeon 9800 pro graphics card, so proberly close to the best possible setup and I still CTD'ed, but of cause rejoined the fun a little later (Took ages to login aswell).
They really need to work on this aspect of the game and try and get it more smoth, losing your ship to lag on either side of the fence is a pain we can all do without.

I have some of the VOL Gate fight captured on fraps, Absolute carnage! I will look at it later when I get in from work and try and make summat cool out of it (Sucks at all aspects of computer gfx etc)

EVE had its first Full fleet battle (it was like the Battle of Jutland ---lots of kills, but still no real idea who won yet!)
Amazing fun for me. I fired all my missiels in just the first encounter at the HLW jump in.
Then the VOL gate fight was madness, then I lagged out and missed most of the next fight (undocking from station after i was trashed and needed repairs!) then...
My ADSL crashed out!!!!! ARG!!!!
Anyway...this was best day in release EVE for me, without a doubt. sweeet
PS and from my reckonings CA was putting the smackdown on people.... i saw at least 2 apocs get blown up, and heard about a few other BS die..... and heard only 2 CA dieing..

One possible solution to huge battle lag :
100+ people enter the system, engage in battle.
The server hosting that region / area is under heavy stress
The Stressed server then sends a help variable "omg im getting lagged" to a seperate backup cluster designed to handle large battles.
The backup cluster is behind a load balancer , evening the stress equally among many servers instead of all on one server.
Ping Improved, Pack loss reduced
(Rough , simple way of describing the process)

No, sorry to dissapoint you but no m0o ships were lost. I cannot report on losses from the CA side apart from saying I know Monk died from CTD and Omaha died from being the unlucky one to warp into batle first, but I can report NO m0o SHIPS WERE LOST Sorry to dissapoint you guys

from reading all the posts on most forums about last night i think both sides came out even. I still cannot believe how some people survived by warping out, even though i was getting spammed with "**** has started to warp scramble ****".
I think mass had 2 BS's warp out with less than 5% arm/struc, while the pilot who lost his apoc recieved his mail with his apoc still on 20% armor

I dont care who won.... I had the BESt time ever, i had such a laugh. The lag for me wasnt that bad. Well... it took me 2-4 mins to load coming out of warp BUT when i was in the battle most things were fine. My modules turned on alright and i could move around freely. I was a laugh.
There were SOOOOOO many ships around, just trying to get a target through all the drones/missiles/freindlies etc was really hard.
I warped out twice with 15% hull and came back to the battles. It was great. I only saw one ship go down, cant even remeber who it was.... oh well.
good fight guys, loved every minute (loading) of it haha.

wow, i swear to god i really did not expect the idiots from CA to come post that they owned.
I didn't expect them to tell us that we lost far more ships than we did, and that they lost far fewer ships than we saw explode.
I didn't expect that I would have to come here, as per usual, and fix the idiots errors (re: lord zap, vegeta).
this is all new.
and then, after i did, i did not expect the CA lackies to come running and declare me bitter, citing that as evidence that we surely did lose the battle.
wait, nm.
the facts are:
CA idiots came running bragging about owning Evol/Stain when in fact, they didnt.
I posted that no evolution ships were lost.
an hour and a half later, after a single evolution ship was lost, brainchild zap comes running boasting that i was full of crap.
I wasn't.
What happened here was CA morons came running their mouths about owning evol/stain, when they didnt.
if you don't want me telling you what a bunch of fk'n idiots you are, then don't come lying on the forums.
i will always be here to speak the truth.
the truth is, you didn't own anything at all.
there were good fights. Curse, did not come out on top after the night was over. |

Flames and BS aside, I from now on, as a service to the eve players who cannot partake in the fight, will begin making videos of all the battles we fight in using fraps. If someone from Stain and Curse could do the same, we could make a sexy documentary when this is all done:) |

Theres was 3 ppl from the CA who had fraps running, haven't seen any of the footage yet but we do have some. would be a good idea to combine them all and make a good movie from it.

I'd add that in the 4th Engagement last night that there were 2 SA cruisers lost as well, after they jumped into a very well defensed Spawn Point.
Radagor, Asma, and Pomka of RUS were chased out of the QVD and DSS area multiple times.
Yes, was an outstanding set of battles CCP should utilize some of the comments from this thread to promote EVE. (Not the lag ones of course)
As for CA changing from Mining Ops to Military Outfits, I'm not so sure this was THAT difficult since SA went to the CA's home sector to attack CA. If you come to my house, and I grab a knife from my kitchen while baking cookies, I'm not sure that qualifies for me being "prepared."
Still - Lots of fun all. See you tonight again.

I've heard that it was a great battle tonight.I missed that battle and as the result I don't write anything about it.I respect everybody who took part in it even our enemies ( I mean Stain Alliance, Mass and Everlasting).But one stupied kid makes me mad.Its Homo.All his posts are ravings of a madman.And I suspect he's about 8-10 years old.

8 pages and we are still not sure of how many ships were shot down...
=> learn mathematics
=> learn fairplay (there are some people getting upset on capslock, others flaming, but i still don't see who won the engagement even if i have bet 100k on CA)
Frankly, if u loose, don't be ashmed of your ships that were shot down in battle, ships that didn't pull back.
If u win, well still respect your defeated enemy.
Some people here don't seem to understand that in pvp, when u engage a ship, one will get shot down and both pilots want to win the engagement. Sometime you loose, sometime you win and NO fleet is invincible.
As for myself, I would be ashamed if i'd warp out while one of our pilot is needing assistance. there are 2 ways to see things here for Evolution: they managed to disengage their fleet with great military mind and suffered (almost?) no losses or they abandonned their allies in the Battlefield.
