Edited by: Okal Eldar on 19/01/2007 04:59:39 I fly min ships and am just broke 2 mil sp, i've done a little pvp with my friend in his domi but wasn't much of an influence (hes about a year older then me). I was using a rifter and pushing 3k M/s (MWD ftw) and had a web WD on him but does 1 point help much, I'd like to be able to solo well, while still hurting and tanking. I was thinking about an AF, i'm currently working on tech 2 small projectiles and getting all my armor comp skills to 4. but was wondering if anyone could suggest a solo set up for a min AF (either one works) or if they could offer a comparison.
I was also considering using a hurricane for pvp, would that be silly at this point because of skills?
Off-topic, but about how long/how many SP before i can start do something in pvp?

For a support rifter I would use something like this
2 x 150mm II 2 x dim small nos
1 x warp disruptor (yes, 1 point is good thanks to the stab nerf) 1 x webber 1 x MWD (use MWD to get in range and then shut off MWD and use the webber)
1 x gyrostabilizer II 2 x inertial stabilizers or nanos
OR
1 x gyrostabilizer II 2 x armor tank mods (depends on what you want)
You are ready to do PvP just fine. Especially a rifter. If you expect losses, just use T1 everything and insure. The loss can be recovered in no time.

I use a 7.5km 2 point scrambler on my Rifter for PvP since I am going to be close range anyway. I use same mids and highs as the above poster, but in lows I use a gyrostabilizer, 200mm armor plate, and a nanofiber internal structure.

Not a bad idea with forum troll too TC. The 7.5km scrambler requires less cap use and gives you two points. Going as fast as you do you'll make up the 12.5km in a few seconds. You just have to weight out whether you catch your opponents on time or not. The plate will buy you more time to get under the guns as well.
The rifter has many setups, just try them all and see what you like. They're cheap enough.

Try a Rupture, see if you like it. There are a lot of different builds for it. I've used a tackling Nano-Rupture before, a dual rep (and injected) Auto-Rupture, NOS Rupture, ect. Any extra damage you can add will help. If you have cash to burn, get in a Typhoon and NOS the heck out of everyone, adding extra damage with your drones (I was doing this at 2M SP). Cyclone and Hurricane are both excellent ships. They are cheap (well, the Cyclone anyway) and will add significant damage.
But the Domi, being a BS, locks pretty slow, so I think the best think you could do for your friend is to get in a fast locking ship with a 20km scram, and catch those faster ships for him.
