Great way to kick off Season 3, part deux. I've seen a lot of people loving it in this community, so thought i'd get feed-back.
- the Apollo/Starbuck love triangle BRILLIANT! poor Duala - would appear Baltar's back - No.6 on BSG thats going to be potentially interesting - and a full cylon line boxed! - and who the hell ARE the final 5? so close, soooooooooooooooo close!
Ok, so some of the basic effects driven content was stunning as usual, although nothing on the Atmosphere drop ; i still don't think we're going to see that beaten in terms of pure rush factor for a little while on any show. Still the character driven content is what gets me the most. Everyone's horrifically flawed in their own way and looks like its getting worse - no sugar coating to be seen anywhere. Grit. Love it!
Anyone else lovin' the young and the restless in space as much as i am?

I've loved BSG so far. Best scifi tv show ever.
Last nights show was a little less than expected. The only thing resolved was Helo/Athena getting the kid back. While the setup for the rest of the season is there, last nights show could have been cut down to 20 minutes and stuck onto next weeks.
I would like a bit more scifi in my soap opera next week. A couple of snips of the Galactica hanging with the Basestars doesn't cut it. Starbuck being rescued by Dualla could have been sooo much better. |

I loved the look back at Starbuck's painting in her apartment, that was brilliant. Baltar's situation is going to be veerrryy interesting
About the final 5, it's strange that Dianna said "You! I'm sorry, I didn't know"... it must be someone she or the cylons did something to before, and probably someone we've seen before. Hmmm

One thing that made me groan at the end of the last episode:
Baltar's Situation: "Ohnoes, traitor Baltar is back, let's throw him in the brig."
Caprica Six's Situation: "Ohnoes, there's a cylon on board, let's throw her in the brig."
So what does the future hold? Happy reunion? Anger? Gaius finally getting shaved and losing the Jesus complex?
Only time will tell. ---

It's Caprica 6; the original one that was responsible for the genocide of Caprica, who was reintroduced late in season 2 (early in season 3? I forget). ---

Edited by: Enders Vaal on 22/01/2007 23:10:02 It's pretty damn awesome, can't wait to see what they pull for the season finale.
But I really think they need to put an end to the baby and love triangle side stories soon, as I really find those the most annoying because they deal with really mute points when compared to their overall situation.
And I'd really like to see some explaination as to who/what Baltar's Caprica is (the one he keeps seeing). She's obviously disconnected from the real Cylons somehow --- Your signature picture may not be larger than 24000 bytes, 400x120 pixels. - Devil ([email protected]) "You are without doubt the worst pirate I've ever heard of." speculation that lemadam president... or former president as you have it, is one of the final 5, or possibly admiral adama. a friend thinks it is starbuck, but I doubt it. I personally love BSG best show ever.

I don't mind the Agathon side story, but boy am I getting sick to death of Kara/Lee/Dee/Sam. My God did the preview for next week have me rolling my eyes! Let's please go back to Apollo doing cool, righteous stuff, instead of playing the role of Starbuck's 'other woman'.

AMEN. Both of them need to have the sense knocked back into them, so they actually get things done like in the first two seasons.
I don't mind the Agathon side-story though, because Sharon and Helo happen to be my two favourite characters. ^^
EDIT: Just realized how odd that we can call Sharon "Athena", "Sharon", or "Boomer", yet with Helo "Karl" sounds really weird. ---

Loving BSG more and more.
So looks like the 3 knew the face of one of the final models. Apologised, wonder if that was for the whole cylon race apologising, or something one of her 3's had specifically done to transgress that person.
Could be alot of different 'humans' Someone 'childless'
Roslyn Lee Kara Geata Col.Ty
list continues and continues, should be fun.

Some speculation about Starbuck...
Way back in the first season Doral said "Adama is a Cylon," but this is unlikely since all the Adamas have too much backstory whereas most of the Cylons appeared out of thin air. However if Starbuck and Lee get married, and Starbuck becomes Kara Adama.....maybe Leoban was telling the future. ----- Traditional morality is just a clever way for the weak masses to shackle the strong individual. -- Callicles |

They're definately setting Starbuck up to be a cylon, but i think that might be too obvious. Might be a bluff. But then that might a double bluff aswell. But then that might be a double double bluff...

Except the 6 in Gaius's head told him that she wasn't the chosen one who'd see the final 5, but that he was. So it could all be a bluff. Gaius has to get his way back to the cylon basestar to take her out of the box and find out what she saw - is going to be fun seeing how he gets there.
On another note - Sam must die. He's the only thing really in the way of Lee and Kara getting together, since she won't leave him but Lee would leave Duala. Also he's becoming a bit of a whiner this season If Sam dies that'll leave Lee and Kara free to get together, setting Duala in a position for irrational retribution - she's been such a constant professional and loyal figure throughought she'd be ideal for a betrayer later in this season, just like Boomer was in Season 1. Maybe Gaius will manipulate her into helping him escape BSG?
Then again, knowing what the show's been like so far, something entirely unexpected and different is likely to happen instead

About the Karl/Helo thing, I agree with you there...Heck even his wife calls him Helo! He's really become one of my favorite characters this season, because Lee's just sort of devolved into only existing to suit this twisted quadrangle of oh-so-wrong lurve. Blech! Fer cryin out loud, give Apollo a life again already!
As for the 'Adama is a cylon' mess... Anyone ever given it a thought that if Dee were to turn out to be a Cylon, Leoben's prediction would be right? After all, she's an Adama now. :D

I don't care who is or is not a Cylon, but I certainly hope she sticks around 'till the end of the show!
Yes, the writers have turned Lee into a whiner, I don't like it... Especially when he could not beat up Starbuck in the ring, that was stupid...

I just can't wait to see how Baltar escapes from Galactica. Narrative imperative means he can't die, so maybe they chuck him out an airlock, he downloads into a new body, goes "Yay, I'm a cylon! Clonejumping 4tw!" and finally gets to meet the final five (cos he'd be on a different ship than the ordinary seven).
Or maybe they torture him for a bit and Caprica Six will break out and rescue him
One bit puzzles me though. The cylons knew Athena was loyal to the colonials, why didn't they sever her link to the resurection ship? --------------------------------------------------------------------

That's a possibility. Someone at the SciFi channel boards suggested that way back in the first season saying that the "illness" that was killing her was her own self-destructivness. ----- Traditional morality is just a clever way for the weak masses to shackle the strong individual. -- Callicles |

Much as IÆm loving this show to bits and donÆt want it to ever end, my vote would be to use series 4 (assuming the show does get re-commissioned for a 4th series) to properly resolve the tale, however hard that may be given the expectations inherrent in the precept of the story, while itÆs still popular and the writers are brimful of good ideas. I would hate it for the money men to pull the plug before it got finished û like what happened in the original series, and in ôSpace Above and Beyondö, or to see it hastily wrapped up in one episode in some dumb way like ôThe Prisonerö, or even in a ôSpecialö like Farscape (though I didnÆt think that one was so bad actually). Babylon 5 was all the more satisfying because it wound up to a properly executed ending.

So true... But B5 was set out to be a 5 year saga, not sure BSG had an initial timeframe?
Some shows they just keep it going as long as the ratings are there, like SG1...

They're getting there. B5 went from primetime, to late night Sunday, then effectively cancelled. (See the packing two seasons into Season 4 thing.) Will Ted Turner come to the rescue of Battlestar Galactica?
I said, halfway through season one, that if they ever kill off Baltar, the show would tank. They've been doing the next best thing. OMG AM I A CYLON!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Just watched and loved episode 12. Another fantastic one. I would say it looks like they're setting Starbuck up to be a cylon (the apology from 3 could mean about keeping Kara imprisoned on New Caprica). But personally, I think the writers have never done what you expect, so no doubt they're intentionally leading us down a false alley, only to spring a surprise on us at a later date __________________________________________ "In girum imus nocte, et consumimur igni."

With Sci-Fi channel behind the wheel I'd be surprised if Galactica made it past its 4th season. They've made so many stupid decisions over there that it's amazing SG1 is the only casualty so far. Breaking up the 3 sci-fi show lineup on Friday nights? Adding wrestling shows to a sci-fi channel? Moving their flagship show to late Sunday nights? 6 month mid-season hiatus?
There's talk of a BSG movie coming up, direct to dvd though. Maybe it'll set the scene for that spinoff series they're gonna do...
