I just thought this would be fun. Ladies and Gentlemen, we are here to compare how INCREDIBLY GEEKY we are with our spouses, mates, life partners, bed buddies, and other halves. The purpose of this thread will be to determine who has the geekiest relationship, and for all of us to have a good laugh. As thread starter, I boldly go where no man has gone before and post first.
My girlfriend watched Firefly of her own accord, being a total non-gamer, non-geeky chick, and then compared us to Zoe and Wash.
I was stunned, somewhat flattered, and wholeheartedly behind this idea, since the woman is a bit of an amazon to begin with.

Not myself, but a very close friend of mine (female) said that it was "extremely cute" when her boyfriend recited the periodic table to her.

I almost got to know some one by spamming ****/gtfo in counter strike every time I killed her I got lazy and didn't take it any where though

I did know a person who dated a girl he met on WoW, who lived in another country....and i suspect she wasn't a girl (Mic doesn't work on Ts....hm how conveniant).

I've manage to get my GF hooked on BSG, and she watched Firefly of her own accord and reads Philip K. **** (d.i.c.k, for the censor) and Brian Aldiss novels when I lend them to her. Not managed to get her into computer games yet, though

My current g/f has her own Nintendo DS and consequently her library of games that near mirrors my own. She beat Phoenix Wright before I'd gotten through the 3rd case file.
She also has her own PS2 and I find myself having to steal her games to catch up on ones I've never beaten. She isn't so into MMO's, but she will play other single player games on the PC if I set them up for her (Worms Armageddon for example).

I know a guy who had a job, was going to school, had a girlfriend and went out on a regular base.
Now he is a 63 Dwarf warrior with full EPIXXX.
Last time i saw him was a month ago, I talk to him when he calls me when the servers are down.

I met my ex-fiancee while playing Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. Did the whole romance thing over instant messanging then met in person. She was attractive and fit, and my dream at the time, a gamer girl. A distance of four hours was terrible for us, suffice to say. About six months into it I picked up EVE again; as much as I tried to get her to try it, she didn't, preferring CounterStrike and Sims 2. After about ten/eleven months since first meeting, I asked her to marry me. I ended up moving to Jersey state, and stayed there for a few months. It didn't work out though, too many differences and issues neither of us were willing to resolve, so I broke it off.
Hope I didn't put a damper on this thread.

not really. My ex turned into a gamer girl after we broke it off. But I cant get her into MMOs
and I know of a couple who got together from EVE, got married and now have a cute lil tyke who was born just a few months ago!!!!

My GF used to play OZ (yeah, chatting thing, girls) when I was asked by another friend to try it cause she was lonely. Met her, and rest is history.
Along the line though, she did invite me to play a golf MMO (of which I'm still playing on and off when I'm bored, or its [extended]DT).
Pity she doesnt have the time atm to play with me promotion left her with little in the way of free time.

Former work mate, he quit his work saying he had enough cash saved for a year with wow. He locked himself in an appartment playing wow for a year. Not answering the door or the phone (Only using phone to order pizza).
