I live in Null, I know maybe 2 area's that get gate camped regularly, within 50 jumps of my base, Null is very empty, it is the entry systems that are camped, also, if you want to make ISK you have to RISK it, or, as I say, risk it for the biscuit, don't complain that you aren't making ISK in risk free High Sec. EVE is about risk vs reward, more risk, bigger reward.

Yeah, you go tell that to the CFC and her veritable legions of ratting carriers.

I already have told them that - in fact, I mailed several prominent individuals within the CFC to inform them of that very point. Next!

Which is why PLEX is so expensive.
1. Largest battle in video game history. 2. Losers ragequit. 3. Funding of supercaps via GTC's converted to PLEX to gain ISK in game reduced by half 4. Price of PLEX doubles. 5. (reduce) profit.

First of all, I run combat sites often and sometimes you win, sometimes you win BIG, and sometimes you "lose." I enjoy them because of the randomness of the different sites. Exploration is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you are going to get!
Also, with regards to the market, I've seen Faction Ammo swing pretty radically within a couple of weeks. I placed some on the market not to long ago at almost 800K, the price two weeks later was around 400K, then a few days later mine sold. Like the NYSE, swinging widely!

I have run over twenty 5/10s and 6/10s in the past month and I have to say that it's mostly a psychological issue with me.
When you know that a site can drop 800+ mil in modules, and you keep getting mostly poop it really starts feeling like an unrewarding grind (which in all honesty, it actually kinda is).
Still not the worst return on your time in terms of isk/hr, although you need to hit that good drop once in a while in order to really make it worthwhile. In my case, at least I got a boatload of pirate cruiser BPs, so I average probably above 200 mil per site (bounties etc included).
But then again, I remember times when a Pithum C invuln was worth two PLEX ... Hisec exploration was the king, no risk, huge profits - one just had to go the right way about it to be able to beat the competition. I guess this kind of goodness will not return anytime soon ;).
What has changed, really is not that it's not profitable , or "ruined", it's just that - as some previous posters have said - the prices of a lot of the loot have dropped, while the price of PLEX steadily raises. |
