I'm thinking of writing an announce-bot. It'll idle in my corp's chat channel, and monitor entries (entered by real, living players) that begin with a particular string, "FYI" or something like that. Then, if someone logs in and wants to know about hostile reports, ongoing ops, or whatever, they could just type "announce" and the bot will spit back all the "FYI" entries made in the last hour or two.
Am I allowed to do this, or does this violate the EULA?

Probably a breach of the EULA...
However, I'd investigate the Message of the Day channel command/function. It's almost what you're after.

I think it's all fine. I believe I've seen channels like this before, for systems like EC-P8R. Not sure if they were automated or just manned by very repetitive people :) __________________________________________________

If you think it might violate the EULA, then you're probably right :).
However, definitive answers come from the GMs. F12, and ask.
