Im currently using a recon probe launcher and it takes 220cpu to use it. Does anyone know if there are any skills that reduce the cpu requirements of probe launchers? weapons upgrades or perhaps another skill?

Since it takes up a high slot you could try a hardwiring,There's one that reduces cpu needs for turret slots

It doesn't need a turret slot, just a high slot (not launcher slot either) so no implants will effect it. Think of it more as a mining laser than a gun/missile launcher. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

weapons upgrades skill reduces cpu need for all turrets and launchers..should apply to probe launchers as well.

no, that skill says for "weapon" turrets and launchers scan launcher isn't "weapon" launcher

I wonder why Electronic Upgrades doesn't affect the Recon/Scan Probe Launcher CPU need either...? The skill says "Skill at installing Electronic upgrades, e.g. signal amplifier, Co-Processors and backup sensor array. 5% reduction of sensor upgrade CPU needs per skill level.". The Probe Launchers are in the Electronics and Sensor Upgrades group. Why aren't they affected? And as a related question: How do I know which modules are affected by the Electronic Upgrades skill if not by the (market) group they are listed in?  |

The reason the Probe Launchers aren't affected by Electronic Upgrades is because it isn't the skill required to equip it in the first place. Probe Launchers require Astrometrics.
The best way to tell which items are affected by skills that say "X% reduction to CPU/PG to Y modules" is to see which items require that skill to use in the first place.

Hm, does that mean that, e.g., Sensor Boosters' CPU need isn't affected by Electronics Upgrades either? If yes then I am beginning to understand... |
