j0 has already pointed out examples, and I personally can attest to having a GM have a normal character in my guild when I played, and he wasnt worried about doing certain things now and then to help the guild and himself get a bit ahead.

the anti-WoW rhetoric is getting a bit old. post reputable links. frivolously trying to make comparisons between an inside scandal in a game w/ 8 million player base and ~150k player base. Completely oblivious to the fact the said *scandalous* incidents have a more profound impact on the players in a game like eve then WoW.
this type of behavior is prevalent in every mmorpg. i can remember examples in UO involving SiN on greatlakes. in eq on povar.
If you stopped and thought for a moment, you would realise that wasnt an Anti-WoW post. In fact in the past I think you will find I have on several occasions defended WoW from the eve critics, who call blashpemy at anyone who spoke about it, unwilling to open there eyes and see it for what it was and not as a rival to eve. The real irony of my experience of WoW, is that the people who belittled me for trying it are now the ones who are playing it, while I came back to Eve (even quicker then I expected to).
I cant post any proof of what I said afaik the guy was never caught. And yes events like the recents do have much more of an effect on a game like Eve then others, but what happened here I believe happens else where much more often and much more severly, with the game companies much less likely to come up with public apologies and the results the of investigation. I think Istavaan is blowing the situation out of proportion personally, but thats just my opinion, right?
GL Istavaan, go grief some noobs in another game somewhere.
