CCP didn't announce it, because it would cause pandemonium on the forums and create unnecesary bad publicity, which was in my opinion, a smart move. Sigs are for noobs.

LV I thought were ok but now post endless streams of smackganda bs to highjack the forum threads. LV sound like their morale is *****ing after what they claim are "minor" skirmishes. "Post about a significant battle blah blah blah, etc." From what I gather LV is in serious trouble and BoB have retreated to sort out the logistics for a counter offensive. That and the goons, etc have lost lots of ships that a 2 week noob could easily replace without too much effort. The early engagement of titans in "defensive" combat sounds like desperation. I cant understand people believing this "we cant detect it story". In every standard FPS servers can detect the presence of edited skins or other cheating programs, and not only modifications to the exe file. The reason that they did not impose mass bans was because it was used by too many people, and because it was quite frankly that easy to "cheat" that it almost bordered to giving some sort of button ingame that would do the same thing, but which is "forbidden to press". This cheat is on the same level as the cyno chain cheat, at most. No reason to go holier-than-thou here.

At the time the portrait hack was used, ISS were our enemies. Not as if it makes a difference; we can't tell them what to do, so you can't blame their conduct on us. I remember when this portrait system was mentioned on the ISS forums and it was pointed out at that time that the portrait system should NOT be abused in this way and people using it would likely be banned. You can't control individuals from posting on forums or doing things like this. Someone will always find something they think it to their advantage and post about it.
