Does anyone know of a place to purchase the Eve Online retail box? I bought the game online, but would really like to know if it's possible to get a old retail version of the game.

might be able to find one on ebay, or if you're lucky some game store near you will have a dust-covered copy hidden somewhere on a dark back shelf :P

Excatly ^_^ i <3 my EVE Online box... as well as the INFINATELY COOLER EVE Online China box... its a fricking METAL BOX! with a manual like 3 or 4 times thicker than the one the english boxed version came with :(

Ah, my box is nice and clean, sitting next to all my other games. Oddly enough, I think Eve Online is the newest box on that shelf. Never really felt the need to buy another since, my goodness, was that 2003? I'd say it's been too long, but then I get the jitters just thinking about trying another game....

I got the Retail box and game in mint condition along with the 300 page Strategy book that gives a story for the races and shows the first tech 1 ships. The funny part is the book became obsolete the day Eve went live May 6 2003. But the stories are cool. and I have them put away in a nice clear plastic box for me to look at and brag about hehehe

If I remember it correctly, the Chinese market got a nice retail box last year when the server over there opened. Including a massive booklet. All in Chinese, of course. Maybe you can get one in Hongkong, or when you are visiting Beijing the next time?

Didn they not make a metal case version of the English version not long ago in the Eve store? (Round about RMR)
Is still have my original retail box. The manual that came with it was perhaps the single most useless thing I have ever owned! |

Dito. I got the DVD case too. Via import due to the game not being availabe here on release date (still missed about 1-2 weeks tho because there was no pre order option).
Now to the important stuff! How much is this DVD case worth? |

AFAIK the DVD case is the original printing, the jewel case and cardboard box are the second release.

my local gaming store can get it in I believe, the owner asked me if it was worth it and I said i doubted it as most people just downlaoded it. Ask at a store and they can probably order on in, though this was a few months back.

If your in the UK then some game shops still have them. Mate picked one up for ú4.99 with a free month trial. Wish i thought about that after starting my 2nd account!

most if not all MMO manuals are useless outside of telling you the basic keyboard shortcuts and default key layouts. because the game has changed in some cases even since the disc has shipped.

ive still got my original dvd case version published by crucial entertainment :D
bought it on the day the servers came up ^^ damn "game" shop wouldnt sell it to me before the day the servers went live for some stupid reason!
even though everywhere else "GAME" were fine selling it before then.
if i remember right the official release date was before the servers were live anyway?
