Edited by: Allen Deckard on 12/02/2007 12:19:40 definition 1
definition 2
Noun S: (n) pyramid scheme (a fraudulent scheme in which people are recruited to make payments to the person who recruited them while expecting to receive payments from the persons they recruit; when the number of new recruits fails to sustain the hierarchical payment structure the scheme collapses with most of the participants losing the money they put in)
last definition
Pyramid Scheme When the organizers of the scheme use the assets of new investors to make profit payments to the old investors. The scheme typically has no other source of revenue other than from the new investors. Pyramid schemes, often called ponzi schemes, progress geometrically until they reach the point that the operators cannot find enough recruits (victims) to continue the payout. A bust out is a form of a pyramid scheme whereby the suppliers are like the investors, and the bust out (pyramid) scheme continually uses its new debt to pay old debt, building a "house of cards," which must, ultimately, collapse.
Now find me one where it's a good thing.
Want to add one last thing. If you want to scam people (or to put it nicely part them from their isk) fine go for it. But for gods sake at least call it something other than "A FRICKIN PYRAMID" be a little origional something disguise it a little at least. Put a little effort into it for gods sake. Its not a scam - It is a scam - its not a scam ... weeeee this is fun.
In regards to mr 'wee i got some isk back'. You're at the top of the pyramid, and even more so, are either a friend/alt or both, if the OP is a bit metally unstable muhahha.

Thats actually the opposite of what i said though. I was trying to point out that the billion people scenario is flawed. Say you have 6 people under you, and you'll already be going with profit. Your tree will be pretty much balanced the first 2 - 3 levels, then it'll get a tiny bit more unbalanced. By this time you're way beyond your original investment. Check the models, and you'll realize you're wrong, and btw, im perfectly fine
Yes, in other words, the guys at the top get the isk and everyone else has to find more members or lose out. The probem is that once the sucker members has lost their isk, they wont find others to fill the gaps as it is mathamatically impossible for everyone to win.
And why send you isk? I am offering everyone a chance at timesharing a Gist-X Fitted Navy Raven - Send me 100mil isk each, and you guys get a guarenteed timeshare of it.
Oh And before you send this guy isk - DONT - Just setup your own pyramid and recruit members yourself. You dont need to send isk to join a pyramid - since it is your problem anyway to find members. Just do it youself.
What happends to the new members that joins up without a reference person? Well i'll answer it for you since you obviously aint gonna read the ******* details. The thing you miss out is that people joins without a "parent", and we are using those members to balance out the tree. You are missing the keypoints and the strength that this system has, why, because you havent read the d.e.t.a.i.l.s

There is a simply answer for your scheme in the Eve Online Terms of Service agreement here.
Point 9 explicitely states:
You may not advertise, employ, market, or promote any form of solicitation û including pyramid schemes and chain letters û in the EVE Online game world or on the website.
Simple as that.

Alright, thanks for pointing it out. I cant believe i've overseen this. Strange as it is since this is ingame, but those are the rules afterwards.
