workaround didnt help me. Still the same handshake message. No of players in eve-offline frezed at 22,850 since 15 mins.

Sounds to be SSL handshake fail. Same problem was in March 18th 2012 ... just 4 years and 9 days ago (easy to find on google)
Certificate problems ? If yes, could be resolve after DT ? (usually this kind of problem need reboot) |

Seems we all have same issue.
still 22k ppl logged in hmmm...
6 freaking pages further and still no reply from devs
personally I am getting little tired of these server crashes etc, did you guys not upgrade so this would not happen?

Tried bypassing launcher logged in direct to server..
1st try " For some reason ...your character had failed to login for several times.. blah blah file a ticket"
2nd try.. got in .. screen is black but UIs are working.. only person.. all dark in space... cant see ship or anything .
I guess we'd just have to be patient and log in after DT. Think a hard reset's required. |

The method in that gif worked. It is also true that characters with an active training queue just loop on the select screen whereas those without log in fine. They're emergency-rebooting the server in less than five minutes though and says it'll be back up in 20, so at least someone in CCP must've caught the little Y2K16 oopsie.
My question is, how the heck did no one think to make sure the clocks on the new servers were consistent and the DT not immediately after something like this on this particular occasion? Seems trivial. XD

I managed to get in one toon---black screen but chats were there, and npc corp had 23 characters in it...lol
This may not be as quick as some think.
Glad to see the new hardware was working as designed ccp.....may I suggest a redesign?
BTW all GM alts please leave me alone, and don't tell me how good eve is working.....it isn't.

The amount of crying over what is obviously a coding error (which can happen, CCP employs people not robots you know) is staggering.
Be glad that you got that handshake error, it means the server is actually doing what it is supposed to do: prevent somebody from gaining access to your account. And because of the daylight savings their is a hour difference between the 2 codes, hence you can't get in.
And no I'm not a GM alt or a dev alt or paid by CCP...
