I think it's fairly spread out, I run agent missions and I'm in an NPC corp, the very few times I have to play.

ha! sounds like you don't like playing for the other DEV's though that spend more time.... well if they havn't all ready I think it would be good for some of you( or even one)to start up there own corp and have no special abilities or w/e and carry that along for a few months. If this has been done in the past it might be time to do it again(as times change things evolve) and it may give you an insight as to why some people stay in NPC corps for instance.
I don't know its just ideas maybe it should be on the development part of the forum.
Well, it's more that I don't have time to play enough to be an addition to a corporation, and I'd just feel like I was a burden to them, so until I have time to play more and join a corp I'll just stay solo and do the occasional mission or whatever.

No wonder devs won't kick players out of NPC corporations.

Heh, that isn't my decision to make anyway.

Originally by: Mortania Personally, I think that CCP should have someone start from scratch again and try and use the Player Guide or other obvious documenation on this site to gain an understanding of how to play.
There is so much wrong/out of date info on the official site that it's crazy. I pity any new players coming into this game and trying to figure it out. The amount of lore gained from playing for 4 years that is undocumented is mind boggling.
I'd offer to come just do documentation for them, but I don't think CCP could afford me for just that job.
CCP understands that the guide has become out of date, and ISD are currently in the process of creating a new up to date guide to replace the current player guide. While I cannot give an exact time for its completion (As is the nature of it being created by volunteers that have other things to do in their lives) it is coming.

Originally by: Andrue As a developer (not of Eve) I can think of several reasons why the CCP Devs might not be play Eve a lot:
* They wrote it. Programmers are notoriously bad at testing their own code and it can extend into simply not wanting to run it. A lot of good developers have this reaction because they know that it will seriously annoy them if they find something wrong. In my experience only a bad developer can shrug away a bug in their code. A good developer will be annoyed and try to fix it or (if stuck at home without the source code) worry away it losing sleep and getting an upset stomach.
* They are sick of it. Well, maybe not sick of it but if you are thining about Eve all day at work do you really think you're going to go home and play it for another three hours straight?
* They are tired. Well this isn't restricted to programmers but after a hard day at the office I can sometimes barely summon the effort to watch TV. Carebaring in Empire is a nice compromise the rest of the time. Not to brainless, not too taxing.
* Friends & Family 'nuff said.
* Social life 'nuff said.
We're also up to 200 staff members now, I think we're fairly well spread over the different playstyles. However, your points are quite valid
On the topic of the player guide, I'm hoping we have the person and assets to start our EVElopedia and other initiatives of the same sort. Wether we play the tutorial on new characters, yes we most certainly do. In fact, it's mandatory.

Originally by: Soporo I somehow cant wrap my mind around a Dev mining scord in a n00b ship to earn enough to get that mackdaddy Bantam, can you?
When I started EVE there had been so many threads about how solo players could never make it and it would take them ages to get a cruiser or whatever. So even though I was in a corp at the time I made it a point to play by myself, mining, until I could afford a cruiser. And even though I can't remember exactly how long it took, it was considerably less than what people were saying.
I think Devs sometimes start over, of course there are the outed ones, but sometimes you just get tired of your main, you want to experience being new, have no ties, that kind of stuff.

Yes, in the office we often walk over to the local expert on salvaging, mining, boosters, missions running and sometimes how to fit a ship for pvp. EVE is so complex it gets harder and harder to be an expert in everything, even as a dev
Why is this signature pink?
It is a mystery

If you consider mission running carebearing, then yes. I run missions in a very small corp in COSMOS space. Never mined with my main or any alts though.
PvP? Not really for me. I want to play EVE to relax and take my mind off work, even though playing and working are so intertwined in my case. Too much work to PvP.
