Edited by: Desirez Brutus on 13/02/2007 16:59:24 Hello all,
Just a quick question for anyone that feels they have the time to answer it. (please be trouthful)
Since the 1.3 Patch of Revalations ive noticed a drop in FPS performance.
So, would it be possible for you to post you system and FPS specs as follows, as a little project im putting together to watch how eve performs on similar machines.
Operating system - Windows XP SP2 Processor - Intel P4 Dual Core 6.8GHZ Ram - 1GB DDR2 667MHZ Graphics card - Geforece 7600GT (256MB) Hard drive - 200GM 7200RPM SATA
FPS in station - around 80 FPS in space - around 35
Thank you to anyone that can spare the time to supply me with the little info. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a signature

I have the same specs as you (except for a C2D e6400 CPU) and i get 130 FPS in station and about 80 in space. Try reinstalling EVE perhaps? --- And now for something completely different... |

to Desirez and Lofty.... I don't believe the technology exists yet for the processors that you are listing.... ?
are you sure you don't mean 3.4 Ghz x 2 and 3.0Ghz x2 ? (Being dualcores and all)
your posts would indicate that you both have these incredible CPUs that are not available on the market yet.

edit - it's inaccurate to state that you have a total processing speed of 6.8Ghz.... thats not how it works.

I agree, You DO NOT add the processor speeds. It's like the penalities in EVE when you stack mods. The speed of the processor is still the same, your computer is just able to be more efficient.

Hm, Intel core 2 duo E6300 here with 2 gigs of DDR2 667MHZ and also a GeForce 7600GT
And no probs at all. That is, running 2 accounts on the same rig at the same time and getting between 90 and 100 fps in station.
not sure but thats not too bad i think or is it??? Resized tag... again... hope this pleases the tag ninjas from ccp... again :p

Do the usual stuff to your PC if you haven't already such as scan disk, disk clean up and defrag. Set LOD on in game, turn off sound, clear cache in eve directory.

Without Sound: FPS In Station - 55/60 FPS In Space - 35 (max 38 lowest 30)
Anybody have any idea why with sound my computer seems to fall to pieces. In any complex which is 5/10 or more, I my fps drops to 14 without sound and about 6-8 with sound.

EVE always gets an FPS drop when using sound. Most players turn it off.

The figures i stated in the opening post are from a clean install of windows with a fresh download of the latest client. Personally im not having problems wth my system as i can live with the poor performance of Eve, so im not complaining as such. what i am interested in is finding out what systems and what hardware seems to give the best performance, both for my own future use and for the use of anyone looking for a better system to play eve on.

internet connection has to do something with it. even though i have high speed, its about 1/6 the speed of peoples high speed in town (bout 50 miles away) my specs are either the same or surpase the proginal post and i get about about 80 in station and 20 in space. but when my computer was in town it got awesomely great fps(bout 80 in space and 100s somewere in station) the only thing i can think of is my internet.

Maybe lost some settings due to clearing out the cache ? Like v-sync on/off ?
For those, who don't know:
To switch vsysnc on/off, you can add 'advancedDevice=1' to your prefs.ini, which gives you some new graphics options in the graphics settings menue like 'present interval'.
(vsynch off = interval immediate, vsynch on = interval one)
vsync on leads to better fps, but also to higher cpu usage and can therefore have the drawback that other applications and services that are running, can suffer or seem less responsive )

Nope, its because Core 2s are massively better at EVE than Pentium 4s, by a huge margin.

I'm having a few graphics problems myself, running an old 6600GT and when i try and run both accts i get flickers and graphics problems, but if i run them solo they are fine.
Is this due to the old card, I used to do it in RMR with no problems. or should i del the cache or reinstall?

How do you monitor the FPS in this game?
I would like to know what mine is exactly.
