Operating system - Windows XP SP2 Processor - AMD64 3500+ Ram - 1GB, fastest mobo allows Graphics card - GeForce 6800LE (256MB) Hard drive - Irrelevant Eve screen resolution - 1280x1024 FPS in station (without environment loaded) - around 200 FPS in space -- sat at a gate with one or two other ships+concord = 50fps -- Warping = 75fps -- Arrived at a typical mission = 40fps
Some of my own observations: The above config with the slower RAM (dunno what speed but it's a separate slot on my ASUS A8N-VM mobo) fps drops by 50%. In the three years I've been playing Eve I've run it on six different machines (some laptop, some desktop) and I have found that when it comes to improving performance the order of importance is: CPU RAM (amount and speed) GPU RAM amount GPU
The GPU doesn't really seem to matter but amount of RAM on the graphics card does. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

Vista 64bit Home Prem
Station 190 FPS. Ingame 110-120 FPS (Running 2 accounts both run at 75 fps)
Where the hell are you getting 6ghz processers from? If there dual core, then x2 1.5ghz making the 3ghz up. You dont get x2 3ghz cores

Actually my processor is 2x 3.4ghz cores. I appologise for any misconseptions with me using 6.8ghz as my processor speed, as others have pointed outin this thread a dual core is not classed as the total speed of both cores.

No performance issues here unless I fire up 4+ clients at once.
I either run two clients windowed at 1600x1200+ or a single client in fullscreen 2560x1600. With vsync on (for better visual quality) as well as 12xAA/16xAF the FPS is constantly maxed out at the screens 60Hz limitation.
The system is:
Opteron 180 (dual core 2.4GHz) 2GB RAM 2 x ATI 1900 XT in Crossfire Dell 30" TFT screen
It will be good when the new client is released so I have something to justify the next upgrade with.

if i dual client on my laptop i get like 2-3 fps on client 1 arround 7-10 fps on the other client. also there is still this bug where one client is starting to address all the physical memory, resulting in extremely poor performance and a huge pagefile an nonstop hd reading/writing. on my desktp though i can easyly run 2 clients with decent fps (around 60 in space)

Ummmm... You also need to post your screen resolutions and graphics settings for this to mean anything. I can have a celeron 1.5ghz with a 12mb video card and say i'm getting 120fps inside a station but thats because I'm running at 640x480 with everything turned off.
Please post your graphics settings and screen resolution.

I don't have the specs on me right now but I run two computers
1 Dell laptop 2Ghz with 750MB memory (I know but it never uses all of it with just one client).
2 Desktop Athlon 2500 with 1.5 gig of memory and a very good video card as of two years ago.
Both computers, 2-4FPS. I've tried nearly everything in the other thread and no improvement. On the desktop I can run games that are much more graphics intensive (I assume) at over 80FPS with maxed out quality... sigh.

Edited by: Garret Bataq on 14/02/2007 21:24:43 how do I find the type of info you guys are posting? run DXdiag?
Anyways, I've been having FPS issues. FPS in station: peaks up around 30-38 FPS, although drops to around 10-15 in the station with those searchbeam lights as they cycle. actually averages more around 25 FPS
FPS in space: ranges from around 5-8 FPS but in some missions I get horrible FPS lag where the FPS drops to 1.3 FPS or even 0.5 FPS briefly.
Also, I'm using a Dell XPS laptop thats a bit over 2 years old

the crazy FPS related lag seems to be something more recent (although I've always lagged in missions with tons of stuff in it and that dust), before the recent patches I wasn't having as many problems, but I have no idea. I'm just not entirely convinced that the onboard clock bieng out of sync is the entire issue (see my post on known issues and workarounds board).
and sorry for the shameless plug towards my post, but it does seem related to this thread.
