Awesome. Now that I have your attention. I've got about 1B in assets, and until 3/20 to spend them on The Most Fun Possible.
What would *YOU* do if you had two accounts with characters at about 2.2M and 3.6M SP, a billion or so in assets, a month of time and not a care about the future? I'm looking for ideas here people.
So far my thoughts are:
1. Sponsor a bunch of competitions, giving out around 100M or so in prizes at the end of each. The front runner for the first competition is a noob frigate free for all in Amamake. The newbie frig pilot to survive undocking from a station in Amamake and survive some sort of brawl wins 100M. Need to think about the logistics of this one through some more.
2. Put 100M bounties on random low security rating people in Rens, alert various suicide squads that I have done so.
3. Give myself a slight head start and then put a 100M bounty on myself. Notify interested bounty hunters that I have done so. Fly through various low/nosec areas to the best of my ability for an hour (estimated 30 jumps). If I surivive for a whole hour, head to goonies space. (Does being ganked by a POS award a bounty to anyone?)
4. Sponsor suicide squads to clean complex campers.
That's it. All the ideas I've come up with. How about you Eve vets? If I like your idea enough there could be a Raven in it for you.

Fun?
I cant think of anything more fun to watch than Hiring EVERY Merc unit in EVE to 'dec Privateers.
If you want to be thorough, get a couple to dec em one week, then another couple for the next, then etc etc.
Not only is it fun, it's provides a valuable public service, just think of the warm fuzzy feeling youll get!
Oh, and naturally you will want to hook up the man who designed such and eloquent solution to your quandry. |

Give half or a quarter of it to random newbies of your choice.
Make a scavanger hunt.. get a few ppl you trust to hold some of the loot.. then have them sit in systems and make the lookers find them based on clues about the system. Then dish out loot to each person that finds the ships.
Fully deckout a ship or declare someones decked out ship champion and make ppl 1v1 with him for a chance to win some cash. Can go by most damage dished out to champion before distruction or til the death.
Give 1 person alot of cash and get them to an out of the way sector of space in 0.0 and collect about 2-3 dozen low lvls.. I would say BC and below and make then dash for cash.. first person to reach the target wins..(in some cases this should go through 0.0 space so the ccontestants can thin the herd a bit. But give them a time limit.. say.. the length of a jetcan.. so its random but not set so ppl can decide to waste time shooting down the other contestants and risk the jetcan popping or just race their on their own.
Just remember to gang with all the runners and make sure its them showing up to claim the cash.. not their frined who wasn prepositioned to get their before everyone else.

Hrm. Do you think I could do that? I know absolutely nobody in the corps/alliances hunting BoB members, and as I hear getting hired in wartime is not that easy.
Don't get me wrong, I'd be all over this if I could figure out how to pull it off and not just be a free kill for their boards.

Edited by: Akita T on 13/02/2007 21:13:59 I've got almost 1.2 bil in liquid ISK, and probably up to 2 bil or more in various assets... still don't consider it as much. Well, anyway, if you DON'T care about the future and you have about one month left (so I can only assume you just cancelled your subscription or something), the MOST fun you can get out of it is to...
* liquify most of your assets * buy BPOs of whatever it is you plan on flying (T1 frigates or T1 cruisers, all usual equipment BPOs) * get a really fast ship (nano-BS seems to be a decent pick), move out to some pirate-faction-controlled space with BPOs inside your cargo (or put them as courier contracts and wait for them to be delivered first before attempting the move) * set up medical clones in your new base of operations * buy minerals and mass-manufacture enough ships and equipment for your next month * fly out, kill as much as you can before getting killed, lather, rinse repeat
YAY !
P.S. If you can find any aquaintances willing to go along with you for the one-month ride, let them clone-jump to a blank clone first, then have them move the blank ones to wherever you're going to be, and also get BPOs for what THEY plan on flying and their equipment. Then they can jump back and forth every 24h between "fun" and "regular gameplay" to help you out a bit. _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

1. Create scavenger hunts with contracts. Pick out a large assortment of strange items that people have to deliver to you for isk. By strange, I mean to pick a difficult assortment of items to assemble that are truly bizarre and make absolutely no sense why someone would want them. You might also go with a party theme too.
2. The rookie frigate fight sounds fun... you might also consider doing one with T1 industrials. -D |

You could have stopped at 'hire mercs to make trouble.' I still have no idea how to do this, but I think I could just offer a bounty on the corpse of each miner brought to me or something.
Definitely an avenue worth exploring.

I think the eloquent word you were looking for was 'elegant.'
Since I'm just a newbie I have very little clue re: who the Privateers are and more importantly why it would be fun to harass them. I'll look into what it'd cost to hire mercs to wardec BoD though.

My idea of fun is a little different than most, but given the EVE world's openendedness, I've always wanted to bankroll and execute an insane player-run ARG-style scavenger hunt event. Complete with bookmarks left in cans at safespots with descriptions as riddles, cyphers or URLs leading to the next cache of goodies, the next puzzle OR to dead-ends (literally 'dead' if you have enough friends to camp out spots to attempt to kill the competitors as they come in). If you're not familiar with ARGs, think of geocaching only with a twisted amount of puzzle solving, media tie-ins (clues hidden in websites, advertisements, things like that), and in this case, people willing to kill the players as they try to complete the run. =]
Players in the event can either work together to complete the puzzles and split whatever loot you've hidden or try to figure it all out alone and take it all.
Could even add in your original concept of putting a bounty on yourself and leave your own shifting whereabouts as the last part of the hunt somehow.

For maximum effect, undock with a full set of smartbombs and announce on local that you will quit and you're about to jettison a billion worth of T2 gear. Wait a bit till all the greedy carebears are swarming around you and then BAM
Be sure to be more than 5000m away from the station else you can't activate the smartbombs

It's actually a lot more effective to buy all robotics/Enriched Uranium from region...people usually have small quantities of those since they're not needed very often but when it's needed it hurts your morale more to see that there's none of those left (or it's been put back at huge overprice) especially since you would only need like 20 of 'em.

Oh I got a better idea...
Hire lowbies to pk another lowbie in concord space with whatever they got in the cartgo and on the ship...
No docking allowed, stop them as they approach the station.. offer them 5 mill to assassinate whoever is closest to you and thus get concorded.. then give em some cash while laughing at how many are willing to die for 5mill.. give em 10 mill if they can pod them before concord shows up.
OR.. ask for 1 vonelteer in a decent ship to be bait.. then offer Jita 20mill to the person that gets the kill shot while the bait warps all over the system avoiding people Buy them a nice fast hard to catch ship like an interceptor.. it will be like a day at the dog track watching the mutts chase the mechanical rabbit

It's too bad your characters are so low in skill. Really, the most fun option would be to throw a 100 mill (or greater!) bounty on your own PVP character, invite people to come get you, and roam around in high-sec. See how many waves of suicide-gankers you can survive!
Really though, with a billion dollars, not a care in the world, AND a skilled character.. the opportunities would be more fun.

Hmm. Let's see.
Costs me about 8m to get a Caracal set up for suicide attacks.
So...
I'd buy myself 125 Caracals and have some fun blowing up some people I don't like. =P Oh wait! I forgot about the insurance pay out I'd get from all of those...
So probably around 200 in the end? Hmm. Wonder how many of their carebears I could take out with that many Caracals...

Hmm. Let's see.
Costs me about 8m to get a Caracal set up for suicide attacks.
So...

hey hey
Personally Ive just liquidated a **** load of assets and converted it into about 10 heavy fitted PvP ships. Ive joined some old friends and am continuing to have a complete ISK and resource Blow Out Its actually quite refreshing to be broke again and im on my second ship loss and oh boy did i actually feel it for a change :)
TBH dont do it if you dont have a secondary plan to get back on your feet cause each ISK i loose is freaking me out.

Hmm - assuming it is not against the rules...
I would buy as many of the Gallente Frigates as I could afford, melt them, sell the mins (repeat until I had only 100k left).
If I managed to melt all the frigates, I would then start on the cruisers...
I would of course not give any advanced warning so people could raise prices.
Then I would go nyah nyah to the Gallente as a whole.
Oh wait - that was last week - this week I would do that to the Amarr : ) since I value my Gallente Citizenship THIS WEEK.
I do think it would be funny to destroy EVERY ship in a region. By this I mean - buy them and melt them. Then I would sit back and watch the pods flying around looking for a ship and just laugh laugh laugh...

Really though - I would like to buy an Alliance since Chribba denied my application. Even a used Alliance would be okay.

You should watch the movie "Office Space" - its really funny, and there are many references to it on teh internets.
As far as what I'd do with a billion isk... uh... well, I'd try and figure out where my last billion isk went - I think it went into buying HACs and command ships I don't use that much.... --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

Allrighty all, looks like we're running out of ideas.
Summary: I'm way too new and it's way too little cash to do anything truly exciting. My best bet is to see about joining up with existing corps/alliances for the next month and suicide against the cheating, lying scum who have sucked all the fun out of the game for me. That'd be varios BoD affiliates for those of you living under a rock.
The various Jita suicide scenarios are also still on the table as well.
Thanks for all the ideas!

You could suicide in Jita @ 4-4.
It would only cost you about 30 million in insurance money. And you would probably be -5.0 after one nice round of noobie killing. As long as you can keep docking inside of Jita 4-4 and suiciding you could keep this up for another 30 times.
Then you would be -10.0. And the entire Jita system would be very angry with you. Some people might give you cash because of the evil deeds you are doing, and with the extra cash you could do a couple of more suicide runs out of Jita.
It would be good for the economy, because everyone would have to buy new ships and modules.
Also have a friend wait outside the station and cargo scan haulers that are undocking. When some noob undocks with 100 million in his tin can hauler blow him up for maximum carnage. GO FOR THE HIGH SCORE!
Come back to the forums, brag about your evil deeds, accept donations, and do it all over again.
Remember to fraps it all.
You could also suicide kill macro miners in ice belts. They tend to hang around together, and you feel much better about killing them.
But again. Your sec status will suffer.

My question is how you have 1 Billion in assets with such young characters.
That being said. Hire out a mercenary corp and go kill the corporation/alliance of the first person that ever podded you.

i would fly to random sun/star, with corpies to help there i would self destruct as many ship types as i could and make a Graveyard
Make up some RP about a super magnetic star and a battle there or something and you have a nice little danger spot. Get CCP to make it permanant(hardest part i know, but meh) and have the makings of a nice little attraction

I think I would create an Alt named somethiong like "wersdfghsrt" and use that alt to send someone I did not like much from the boards a large chunk of ISK... delete the alt and report the person you sent it to as someone who was bragging about "Buying ISK for Cash"
Noob in training...
