First off let me say great job on the whole.
Now one step backwards that CCP made was in the asset search.
Prior to the patch and always had been there was a field next to the search name where you could enter the minimum amount of the item you were searching for.
As a builder of more than average scale I go through a fair bit of ore/ mins materials. I place buy orders up in multiple regions and regularily search for freighterload or large volumes so I am not jumping a freighter around for 25 veldspar 5 jumps away.
This could be the pvper or incursion toon who is looking for the closest stash of ammo they have that is spread all over from following targets.
Now it looks for the number of stacks of the selected item ( kinda useless) hmm I have 3 stacks of veldspar.. 5 of each type.. 58 stations down the list I have 274 000 000 veldspar waiting and I have to open each tab to chech each and every station to find out where it is 0.o. when you buy vast quantities in multiple regions to supply many many toons each day with what they need it is very inefficient to not have this function.
besides all that my gf's mac freezes a lot running eve since the patch, help me keep her happy as well :D |

The asset search is actually quite a bit more powerful than it was before. Check out this devblog (and discussion thread) for details: http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=3220 |

so now rather than just filling in an easy field I have to learn how to program my search bar? |

it was so easy before and then it is changed to some programming format...? how the heck do you search for minimum amounts of things? |

Now, this works very well for simple searches. But when you-¦ve been collecting random piles of crap, I mean commodities, in every other station in in 100+ different solar systems...this picture gets messier.
This is why we added new keyword based search options in the asset window. Sneaky don't you think? Well most of us computer savvy capsuleers have experience of these from popular applications like outlook or gmail searches. This is pretty much the same. So now we can do searches like this:
you cannot assume peeps playing a computer game are computer savvy... never assume you make an ass out of u and me... not to mention untill I placed pettiions and pointed it out here I had no idea and still don't know after reading how to search for what I need yet

Only feature I am missing is the ability to search in containers on stations. |

not bumping making distinct statemants and not editing for a reason.
and as I stated for the greater part yay it is good, but if you like cheap ships then this driving prices up because I am simply buying more to compensate and driving prices up in my area.

Do as you like, see if I care.
Anyway if using this is already black magic for you, I am quite sure that I have some ship offers for you that are quite interesting ;-)
Quote:This is the full list of supported keyword and the expected values:
type: matches item type names group: matches the group name of items (battleship, mineral, fighter bomber etc.) category: matches the category name of items (ship, module, commodity etc.) minimum: minimum number of items in a stack maximum: maximum number of items in a stack metalevel: matches the metalevel of an item metagroup: matches the meta group name of items (ie. faction, storyline, officer) techlevel: the tech level of item (1, 2 or 3) minsecurity: minimum security status of items location (-1.0 GÇô 1.0) maxsecurity: maximum security status of items location (-1.0 GÇô 1.0) security: matches security level as text (high, empire, low, null, zero) system: name of the solar system item is located in constellation: name of the constellation item is located in region: name of the region item is located in station: maches parts of station names blueprint: matches either copy or original Some additional notes to keep in mind:
All casing is ignored for both keywords and their respective values. Text must be enclosed in double quotes if more than one word. If not only the first word will be used and the rest is lost into the ether. The keywords are not translated group:fighter bomber security:empire
will match all items in groups with "fighter" somewhere in the group name and located in empire space (that is high or low sec). The bomber word will serve no function in the search and is ignored.
group:"fighter bomber" security:empire
will match all items in groups with "fighter bomber" somewhere in the group name and located in empire space. |

Hi,
Do you mean that you are not able to search out items whose names contain the said punctuation marks? I have tried that myself and confirmed it. Could you please also post about it in the Features and Ideas Discussion section of our official forums? Thank you very much for pointing it out to us.
Best regards, GM Catdog EVE Online Customer Support

http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=3220 in here they state : Well most of us computer savvy capsuleers have experience of these from popular applications.
Grade school rule of thumb.. don't assume.. you make an ass out of u and me. Just because people play a computer game does not mean they are all computer savy when it is changed and it has taken me a lot of time to find information on how to work the damn thing ... and still have no idea >.<
Now I've tried colons, semi colons dashes periods anything I can think of and can get absolutely zero result to search the assets.
It just states nothing is found

Hi,
Could you please elaborate on your "computer savy" problem here? Is there any help we can offer here?
Best Regards, GM Rosemary, The EVE Online Customer Support Team
