Dark Phox Misfits United I N G L O R I O U S 10	Posted - 2016.04.09 20:44:17 - [1] - Quote So some of us were talking about how cloaky campers are the bane of EVE, and how you "CCP" will not give us a way to scan down or deal with cloaky campers making them overpowered because there is no counter. Then I was thinking, Cloaks use power... So the easiest solution it to add this to cloaking devices: (While cloaked power regeneration is Halted) So this at least gives people a chance to catch a cloaky camper after some time, because eventually they will run out of cap and have to uncloak, although it will take a long time; and for normal use a cloak doesn't get truly nerfed because under normal use you would not be cloaked so long you dry out your capacitor. Just a thought, and I'm sure there will be some crybabies whining about this idea.

Edit: Show me even one instance of an AFK cloaky camper making another ship explode and I'll support your idea. It is not CCP's responsibility to counter your own cowardice. EvE is hard. And a lot of people would like to be able to kill you while you're docked and AFK too. How about it? You get your cloak nerf, and we get a big friendly button that force-undocks everyone in the station.

Cloaked ships are the submarines of space. You may know they're there, but about all you can do is exercise caution. Scan them down? Sorry, reduced to eliminated signature is pretty much the whole point and function of a cloak. It takes power? Sure, but it would be part of the design to make sure that that power consumption would be lower than the regeneration rate of the engine or else what's the point again? The only partial argument may be that they could have a cyno on board and suddenly it's hot-drop-o'clock. Considering those things still take time to activate and get people there, though, even that's not a strong argument. A cyno lights, you head for home and change your fit to come out and meet your new party guests. In the end, I'll paraphrase one of my favorite childhood cartoon characters: Again?
