So ever since the new changes from Crucible (which the vast majority are way awesome), I've noticed that just about every other system has a sun that flashes like crazy.
My screen, flashing solid white intermittently, cannot be good for my health (considering it does actually cause me headaches after awhile). Now my current remedy for this is to simply rotate the camera away from the sun - which means if combat layout of a mission or fight happens to be TOWARDS the sun, I'm screwed.
Is this a known issue? I recall it happening pre-Crucible, but it was very rare. This is now happening on a very regular basis and, in a way, it really destroys the playability of the game because literally you cannot see the screen from it flashing white constantly.
Does this have to do with the new flare on the suns? And is CCP aware of the problem? Of all the things Crucible needs fixed (which isn't too much, you got a ton right) this needs to be near the top because of how severely it affects gameplay and player comfort. I joke about epilepsy, except this issue is so bad it really COULD kill someone that's epileptic.
Any others suffering from this very annoying graphic bug? |

Nope. Be sure to update your graphics driver. If not resolved than, contact ccp (bug report). Need Researched BPO's? Be it drones, ammo, charges, you name it, visit my forum store now! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=445524#post445524 |

I've had the same issue for ages, not sure how long... I stopped caring and just without thinking about it, look away from the sun. "Have you had your morning coffee?" -> the Coffee Lovers Brewing Club is recruiting! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=363976#post363976 |

Kinda sad that it's never been fixed...
Because it really sucks. It's more annoying than ships 'poofing' out missiles. At least that doesn't blow your eyes out when playing at night... |

I had this problem since Tyrannis or Incursion i think
you can get rid of it by turning off "sun occluded by object" or w/e The Drake is a Lie |

I've always had the problem but now with crucible it is MUCH worse. If my ship even remotely faces the suns direction my screen starts flashing like crazy.
It's really really annoying. I've heard other people complain about it aswell. |

Oh other people have this too? Yeah its quite annoying, easy to fix by reorenting camera, but still meh. The sun shouldn't that bright this far away! |

Any CCP response on the issue and if they have an idea on how to fix it? |

The solution might be to unupdate your drivers (as in, get older ones). Heh.

*sigh* No Kidding Akita...with the luck we've had getting graphic fixes in EVE's history, chance are half of them WOULD be fixed with back-dated drivers...lol |

Well, I have never noticed this problem before even if I play at near-max settings and my drivers are relatively old (20 May 2011). Then again, I don't travel that often, or at least not through many systems. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Contributor_name:Akita_T#Contributions_link_collection |

Bump.
I'm now interested to see how many others have this problem. It's pretty serious in terms of affecting gameplay...I mean, it forces you to ignore 180 degrees of the game in visual terms! The alternative is headaches and blindness from your screen simulating camera flashes. Is CCP actually aware of this issue and are they trying to fix it?

toggling the 'sun is occluded by' option thingy stopped the white flashes at least. |

The sun is to bright for me since I play this game. And since this patch some nebulas in mission have the same problem. Tryed to adjust it peer driver and monitor settings but nothing real solved the problem. Just becouse of this I can't play when I have some light migraine attacks :(.
The flashy part I had some time ago. It was caused by small objects which where between me and the sun like small rocks, cargo containers and corpses. Toggling the sun option solved this problem for me. (PS: it was the reson, why I got migraine attacks sometimes!)
A slider in the options (ESC) would be cool to turn the sun-brightness down would be cool. Why the hell can't I fitt capital repairs or shield booster on an Orca ... it's an CAPITAL ship! |

Use Driver Sweeper (http://phyxion.net/item/driver-sweeper.html) to COMPLETELY erase your video drivers. Simply installing new drivers on top of old ones leaves lots of stuff behind, and using the default uninstaller leaves a fair amount of files remaining.
These files can do weird and crazy things, so make sure your GPU drivers are clean, with no unwanted leftovers. |

two accounts loged, window mode, and both directed at the sun, or at "same" camera angle? |

Well...it IS a pretty bad problem. I normally don't get uppity over a botched feature, but when it directly affects the ability to enjoy the game entirely...well, you get the idea. I just hope it doesn't take 100+ pages to get a response from CCP! |

I have this same issue, with fully updated drivers... On 2 machines... BUT... This only happens when I'm dual boxing on 1 monitor... Make ICE deplete and re-spawn just like roids. That alone would stop botting. (It'll upset the goons, so that will NEVER happen) |
