How about a close ranged version of the Rapid Light and Rapid Heavy Missile launchers?
Rapid Rocket Launchers and Rapid Heavy Assault Launchers, one a cruiser sized launcher and the other battleship sized. Tremendous damage over the clip but with a long reload, just like the long ranged variants. |

Missiles and torpedo need a tune up but not this, because they are missiles and they are just as effective at short range as they are at maximum range. |

I don't think you understand. I'm not suggesting an ammo switch, I'm suggesting a whole new launcher. |

I'd consider these instead of RLML's and RHML's actually.

this would be to much
sure you have worse range but you have more DPS and better application
these things are already really good at what they do (hit under your class) and they don't need to do it any better

If the launcher had a penalty, like -33.3% to range but 33.3% bonus to rate of fire off something, I'd be good with. |

You already have the polarised versions of the short range launchers which, although they approach the damage situation from a different direction, already come with great advantages (increased damage) and appropriate drawbacks (removal of resistances vs. appalling reload times for rapids).

This is true, good point. I started thinking about that afterwards. |

I wonder how often Polarized Weapons get used. I have BPCs for some, but never actually found a good enough reason to use them. I guess if you have good enough logistics to help negate the loss of resists then it would be okay.. |

They are quite situational, to be sure, but on certain fits - for example, the Team Burner Garmur fit and some Paladin/Vargur/Golem mission fits - they work really well, and once you get used to 0% resistances tanking...you generally never go back :)

More Cancerous than rlml? http://crossingzebras.com/heavy-missiles-vs-rapid-lights/ Rlml are that oppressive to other game mechanics they dont even need support ships.
If you are really loooking for high burst damage, try artillery with a few friends.

Polarized bombers are a thing, so are polarized attack battlecruisers and navy megathrons/vindicators.

I already came up with some specific SB Polar Torp fits, just playing around, but did anyone have recommendations or preferred fits they'd share? |

In all seriousness - how would rapid rocket launchers work? Rockets already shoot 1/s as is on many hulls. RRL shoots two charges instead of one? And RHAM?
While I get that these weapons seem appealing *good luck* making any kind of case for their use that CCP would actually look at.

Yeah well all those extra mids for boost amp instead of resist mods.
What would a golem like that even look like? Double pith x-type large and one boost amp? Cap injection?
