lack of game = lack of play = close servers. Sure a new add campain with bring new player, but why toss away players already?
codeing is long and hard to write, and bad code crashes the game over and over and over...still that is no excuse for failed deadline that are put out by CCP it self.
Either the progammers are not in line with the managment and are given unrealistic deadlines...or the programming is done so poorly that EVe becomes and unplayable crashing game that is more akin to EQ.
Of course to date EVe has been stellar compared to the other games...I do hope that it's record stays that way. :)

well that was certainly intelligent. If you read my post you see that i do give CCP credit over other online games...how ever blind loyalty when they are making errors is a past time for the simple minded :)

actaully I haven't complained before...this is the first time I ama nnoyed enough to use the forums and suffer that random insults of strangers.
Still This patch has been put off and rescheudaled...which bothers me. I mean how many times has it not come out?
Oh and expressing concern is of course my right...sorry I'm an american and we have that pesky free speech ideal stuck in our brains...so actaully I think maybe I'll complain more often now since there are people out there who don't want me doing it...:P

jeeeezz guys calm down.. remember its ONLY A GAME...
they probebly found a bug that crept in somewhere and had to put the release back so they could get it sorted.. Even the best companies with the best coders still have bug problems. just chil out and relax. What would you rather have? EVE with tech2 that crashes over and over and over.. OR... wait a few more hours/days/weeks and geta EVE thats updated and stable too. Chill guys..
P.S: i have worked as a 3d modeler, tex artist in a game DEV team, I know how much pressure you are under to get things done. Rants and moans dont help the situation.

to be honest your question isn't correct, what I want is a resonable dead line set and followed with a patch the is both bug free (mostly) and on time. That is not too much for a consumer to ask. I never said I want tech 2 by a certain day, remeber We were let down by CCP's dead line.
All they need to do is set a resonable dead line and post that to us, I'm not asking them to perform better or work faster, just to let us know when they really will be done...not how they have run this last patch which you know will be full of bugs anyways.
You do make good points though :)

Tip to CCP. Set your release dates with about a week extra time.. Cos if anything crops up you still get it out close to or on time and u dont get this mindless moaning.. plus if nothing goes wrong u can release it early and it will be a happy surprise to everybody..

i personaly think that setting any kind of deadline/release date for a patch/addon is a bad idea. If you have the 'it will be ready when its ready' nobody can moan for it being late

Agreed. Saying they planned to release it today when the feverish activity (And sheer amount of patches) yesterday on Chaos showed that they weren't ready was a bit silly IMO and just causes lots of bad feeling.
Probably would have been far better to get the patch ready (Really ready) and then set a date a week later (To give any real last minute issue) time to crop up.

Note that this is the second main patch they release.
First was a flop mostly.
Half of the corp i'm in left or paused the game because they are waiting for something "new" to do. I imagine this is not the only corp in this case.
CCP has to proove now they won't do twice the same "big patch" mistake, and release a big-perfect patch.
I prefer waiting a bit more (we already waited a lot, so a few days more is nothing) and have a playable new version full of godies, than have to face messed up graphics, loggin bugs and ultra-lag...

Purple I fail to see your logic. On one hand you seem to be slammin ccp and then end your post by saying ccp is doing a better job than other MMORPG's. If they are doing a better job than the others then logically that would make them the 'best'. Is your ***** the fact that MMORPG's are today not where they will be 5/10 years from now? Well duh, silly post IMHO.
