How to confuse a trekkie:
Ask for his/her favourite captain. Then say you like Sisko best. Use the following moments of complete and utterly confusion to run away.
Anyhow, I aslo think that Picard is a better captain, however Kirk is a lot cooler! --- My other ship is a Reaper

Kirk gives me the impression he's lost up river in bad Vietnam movie. Would vote for him though.

The Inner Light

It would have to be Kirk - where Picard would put his ship on the line to follow the prime directive and try to find a peaceful solution to any problem, Kirk just threatens General Order 24 - the complete and utter destruction of the planet's surface and every living being on it. You have to respect that kind of dedication to genocide from a starship captain
(PS - apologies to trekkers if I've got the number wrong but, you know, it's just a tv show and not that important really )

Picard, he could have done a little more pew pew and a little less smack talk in local though.

Kirk in a very close second.
Janeway in a far third.
And who is this "Sisko" person you speak of? I thought he was in command of love station floating in deepspace somewhere not a ship? |

Picard > Kirk >>>> Janeway >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Archer
Archer was so bad that he basically spent half the episodes I saw out of character. He's like "Hey, this is a TV show, so we're not going to die. Lets do something ridiculous that, if this was real life, I would never ever do, because it would be suicide!"

He was the authoritative protagonist of his particular show, making him comparable to the authoritative protagonists of the other 4 shows. I don't see what his fictional rank and position really has to do with anyhthing
I'd go with Picard, just because Patrick Stewart is an awesome actor, while William Shatner was a bit of a goon.
Trekies are fun. --------

this is also my favorite star trek of all time, and one of the best pieces of television ever done imo. thank you for knowing the name of the episode :)

Picard
But tbh i would say Sisko out of all the trek series,
DS9 was the best sci-fi but the worse startrek imo, as it was tbh the opposite of what Gene Rodenberry (sp?) wanted when he created the show.

Hear hear!!
Im stuck between B5 and DS9 though.. both have pro's and cons (i love the DS9 character development, but the multi-series long arching storylines of B5 rule!)

Agreed on both. I know I lose geek-cred for preferring DS9, but oh well.
If it means anything... any time ya need an inspirational speech, go to Kirk. But any time you need to fight a war or, really anything else, Baldy von Frenchinator should get the vote.

I always wondered something about Star Trek TNG, and being not being a Trekie, I feel I need to ask
Everyone in TNG, every member of crew, every alien, every computer, all had American accents. It didn't matter if you were from Texas or the Klingon homeworld, you still had an American accent. So why is the only person to NOT have an American accent French- and he has a BRITISH accent? That doesn't make a lick of sense........ --------
