(posted in Ships and mods and was adviced to try ask here)
Hi,
Ran a lvl 2 mission the other day and was tracking disrupted, so I got two Tracking Enhancers II in low slots to counter that.
However, that did not help, even though looking up an old post from old forums says: Tracking disruptor <-> Tracking computer (Mid slot, active) / Tracking enhancer (Low slot, passive).
I fly an Omen and tried with light and medium drones which only scratched the tacklers. I have been told that missiles cannot be interrupted, but being Amarr, I have not trained those at all.
However, I was still disrupted and had to give up the mission, as I could not complete it.
So if anyone have any advice besides, train missiles bro, I would appreciate a reply :)

Id put a tracking computer and/or a web in your mids, remove the cap battery, in your lows i wouldn't add as much tank, remove atleast 1 plate and add in heatsinks

So something like this? Or should I use the track speed script in mid track puter?
(Just noticed I cannot use webs)

I would try fitting beams and outrangeing the disruptors.
Tracking disruptors seem to have a much bigger impact than your own tc's and te's (at least in my own, non-quantified experience). Which is why your te's aren't countering the disruptors.
And if your drones aren't even scratching the disruptors in a lvl 2, you need to train more drones... |

No offense meant, but I think you need to consider your skills. You can use t2 drones? they should be able to kill the tacklers in a standard level 2 mission. You have trained the support skills?
And: what mission? |

I have been told that missiles cannot be interrupted, but being Amarr, I have not trained those at all. The others have handled the ship fit rather nicely so I want to go drones. In this case your drones should have been the answer and yet you state that they barely scratched the tacklers, this tells me your drones skills and to be brutal and honest are not where they should be. So I would recommend that you work the following skills and levels into your training as soon as practical.
Drones - level 5, this will allow you to have all 5 drones possible. Drones Durability - level 4, makes your drones tougher so they are harder to kill. Drones Interfacing - level 4, gives your drones 10% more damage per level. Light Drone Operation - level 4, gives your drones a 5% more damage per level. Drones Sharpshooting- level 4, increase the optimal range of the drones weapons.
If you want to integrate drones more completely into you bag of tricks then alll of the above to level 5 plus the following skills trained to level 4 would good to have as well.
Drone Avionics - increases control range 5,000 meters per level. Drone Navigation - increase drone velocity 5% per level. Medium Drone Operation - allows use of mediums. Not really needed for level 2 but nice to have and needed for level 3 and above.
If you are going to use drones you need to use the T2 variants to get the best you can. The T2 variants will reguire the following. Light Drone Operation - level 5, prerequisite for all T2 light drones. Medium Drone Operation - level 5 prerequisite for all T2 medium drones. There are four drone specialization skills those are the final piece to unlock the T2 drones. For each race of drones you want to use train the appropriate specialization skill to at least level 1, I would recommend level 3 or 4.
Another question that often comes up about now is which drones. The ultimate answer for a drones specialist pilot is all of them. However for a lower level mission pilot that may or may not want to specialize in drones I recommend the Gallente drones. With their thermal damage output (most NPC have a weakness to thermal) and the highest damage multiplier of all drones the Hobgoblin (light) and Hammerhead (medium) are solid options.
Others may say no to the Gallente because they are the slowest drones in each class, and for a PvP pilot I would agree, however for a mission pilot they are more than fast enough to keep up with all of the NPC ships so I do not consider speed to be a factor in the decision.
Damage specific is another issue oft discussed and again others will recommend that you go damage specific and for a dedicated drones pilot I would agree. However keeping an eye on minimum training time requirements and getting the most damage capability for that training time again the Gallente come out on top because of the versatility and the higher damage multiplication factor often negates the fact that they are not damage specific.
Last thought. Remember that these are my opinions and they are offered as options for you to consider. If an argument is made by someone against what I have said that is an opinion as well and it is no more or no less valid than mine, so in the end you will have to read them all, look at the information available in game and elsewhere, then experiment and decide for yourself what is the best. |

or use missiles. NPCs don't use missile guidance disruptors so what could possibly go wrong? |

An alternative mid slot option would be a Target Painter. This would give more range than a web and would help your drones as well. |
