Torrin Milaian NoobWaffe	Posted - 2007.02.18 07:35:00 - [1] Ever since I joined Eve Online, I have been intrigued with combat and pvp, but I've never had the ISK, skills, or know-how to get into the fight. So this is my project. I've created the NoobWaffe to gather an army of new players like myself to fight in the war. Currently, I am supporting the effort to remove BoB from the map, but as time goes on, it will become more clear who the real enemy is. At present, they just seemed like a good target. I didn't intend to steal the idea from Goonswarm, but at the time, I wasn't really aware who they were. Just that they were fighting. Someone's already asked why "Noobwaffe". Well-- Because I figured it would be catchy and conveyed the idea I had for this project. During this time I will be keeping a blog and detailing the process in terms of project progression, practical use of learned skills, and dealing with the reality that it will be slow-going. I wanted to become a part of Eve, not just a player. I am welcomming all ideas, harsh criticisms, and pointers on how to fight. Currently, I have the issued Velator equipped with a civilian blaster and a very, very itchy trigger finger. I ask nothing in return from the community, just that if you see me flying around and have a piece of advice or a gripe, or even want to join please let me know. Culmen Caldari Gekidoku Koroshiya Buntai	Posted - 2007.02.18 08:03:00 - [3] Sounds like somebodies trying to re capture goonfleets early days keep with it and you'll go far still remeber when goon fleet was a running gag, and look at them now well all i can say is ditch the issue equipment you can get swarms of n00bships with civilian weps and not kill a single thing at least get some better tech 1 guns since this is primarily going to be frigate work buy a griffin BPO, get plenty of ECM best way to put numbers to your advantage other then that, just stay out of smartbomb range and hope for the best _____________________________________________________ Why do i even need a sig?

Akita T Caldari Caldari Navy Volunteer Task Force	Posted - 2007.02.18 10:46:00 - [6] Well, assuming what I am thinking right now after reading your blog is right, you should have called it "NoobAltWaffe" (corp ticker [NAW]). Basically, what you are trying to accomplish is PvP with or very limited skill training and with as little as possible ISK used up in the process. First order of bussiness, "the people". It's clear, this project is NOT targetted at actual newbies. To be quite honest, it looks as a horrible idea for a true newbie. This is however an awesome idea for a "carebear's alt" that usually avoids PvP like the plague out of fear or greed. Seing how most of the people in EVE are actually pretty PvP-averse on their "ISK earning" char (a vast majority to be honest), it would be a great idea to advertise this corp as such: a place where the carebears can become part-time bloodthirsty PvPers with little or no risk whatsoever (so just for fun). Second issue, "the weapons" Ok, so Goonswarm's "velator inconvenience op" has shown that a bunch of Velators (with their OMGOVERPOWERED 10m dronebay) can be an effective weapon in huge swarms and against unprepared targets, but that's sadly about it. If you plan on being other than JUST a nuissance and nothing else at all, I suggest you drop the idea of "noobship fleets" and focus on dirt cheap ships with dirt cheap modules that can actually do something good in a fight AND are not very skill-intensive at all. Basically, you want an all-frigate fleet with all-T1 non-named modules that require only minutes of training or are already usable by "out of the box" alts. Last issue, "the logistics" Clearly, even if this will be dirt cheap, it won't be free. Also, even if it's not expensive, it might not always be available to you. Bottom line is, you need some starting capital and/or assets, and you should probably purchase (or otherwise aquire) BPOs for most if not all of ships, modules and ammo that might be used by your members, and have them moved to your "current base of operations" by a neutral via courier contracts, with a large enough collateral to cover any possible loss. After a while, I am confident the loot and salvage you gather during your ops could be either sold or melted down for refab so your corp will end up as self-sustainable, but it needs a good starting nest egg AND a tight security (preferably access to BPOs, most other assets and corp finances should only be possible for you or other very trusted members of your corp, preferably alts of mains you trust a lot already). Personaly, I would suggest an IPO for a reasonably low price per share but very large share count (keep over 50% for yourself at any given time), not promising any dividends at all (but pay them out in case you end up making a profit). It would show some degree of good faith if you would have all newbie alt members buying SOME shares in the corp before they join, with options to buy more later (no buybacks allowed, just dividends or sales to 3rd parties). People have been applying and donating all kinds of items/isk for this and it's really starting to come together. Recruiting has been hard to do, since a lot of people don't know about the project. I'm still looking for ideas on where to recruit, as recruitment will probably be a lot harder than actually fighting. I've decided to back off of the whole "war against bob!" angle and go for "war against bob... when we get settled in enough to do so". Again-- Thank you to everyone who's been helping out!
