Everything's been fine with my game until last night.
I usually run the game on two instances (two Eve's running) in window'ed mode, at a smaller resolution than my monitor is set at, so I can switch back and forth and do other things while I'm on eve.
Well suddenly when I log on last night, all of my settings are reset???
Everytime I load up the game now, they settings are reset, even if I switched them back to my usual preferences.
The resolution is very small, and other video settings are turned down. A alt character on my main account has his portrait up first (when it has always been my main character), and the chat in-game looks different.
I switch it all back, but by the time I restart the game, its back to reset again?!?!
Any clues guys?
One of my corp m8's advised I switch my password, which I did, but to no effect.

This is also occuring just loading up one Eve.
And it even keeps giving me the option of selecting, "Do Not Ask Me This Again" upon exiting the game, everytime dispite me clicking that.

I renamed the folder to Settings_OLD but nothing happened when I tested it in game.
Was there something else that I was supposed to do?

Um, what?
I did new settings in the game, as I said above, and it did not work.
So if your talking about something else, be so kind as to explain, what your talking about.

To any Dev's, this is still not working. I got a Dev. reply very fast earlier which was very apprechiated, but its still not working for me every time I leave the game and restart it.

I have been logging on, putting my settings back, and exiting the game by hitting Esc, and then selecting Quit Game.
And I'd very much prefer to not do a full reinstall... the last time I did that it deleted all of my notes and eve mails which I use.

Rename it to what, will it make a difference?
I'm trying Cache_OLD right now, but I just dont see how renaming the folder would make a difference... but then I didnt design the game so I'm going with you guys.

I'm afraid that it did not work, with three attempts. Must be something else.

Not to double post but I will be back in about half an hour to an hour, and will continue to reply-post right back to you then.
(to others that may read, we were posting back to each other every 5 mins or so)

Read Only was not selected when I viewed it and I left it be. That's not it.

Local time settings yes, there might be a relation here.
Last night I noticed that my PC was running on Eastern Standard time, even though I'm on Central Standard. I found out that this is why it keeps switching the clock behind or ahead of me by two hours (dur, only took me a year to figure that out lol). So I changed it last night, but dont know if that would be the case for Eve of all things.
And no, the disk is not full, as someone else mentioned, I'm no where near getting it full (its big).

This is also happening as well when I am running just one Eve instance. Everytime I start it up.
If I cant get it to stop doing it after I try the moving settings folder and re-install, I'll just do a full reinstall and go from there.
Just a shame to lose all of my notes.

Well after none of the above worked, I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, to no effect.
So I downloaded a new client, and installed it in a different location, and still, no effect. This bug is still plagueing me.
Is there no hope for me? Until now I have never had any trouble like this with Eve, or any other game...

Not to double post, but is there no hope? The only thing left that I know to do is to reformat my PC, and try then (which I wouldnt be doing just for that, I've been meaning to do it for a while, just to clear out junk I dont use, etc.).
And no, the PC harddrive is no where near full or anything.
Just, does no Dev. have any other ideas?

In reply to #46, I have already tried that to no effect.
The only option that I see left is to reformat the harddrive...
Which isnt so bad really, I have been meaning to do so for quite sometime, so I guess I'll just have to live with this unknown bug for a while until I can get to the store to get some blank CD/DVD's.
Not sure if I mentioned this, but I also checked my interal BIOS clock, and its on the right time and date. A corp. member of mine said that he had a very similar issue to me a while back, but it was because his BIOS clock was wrong, which isnt the case with me.
Another corp. member says that one of his PC's acts like this a lot for Eve, but his other one doesant.
Perhaps this is a more prevalient bug that should get some serious research done on it.
Still apprechiate all the help Jikeon (spelling?) and the rest gave me. I'll let you guys know how the reformat goes in a few days when I do it.
