Stain? The area is littered with hotdroppers, but since it is neutspace you could try. Just watch out, since my nullsec alliance and coalition live right next door and you never know if we will go on a hotdrop run... |

IMHO a random assortment of solo players will never accomplish something like this because any player efforts toward the goal will be half assed or unfocused. That is the reason people form corporations / alliances - a group of people working towards some goal. Doing something like this requires people persistently doing tasks, and being in a structured group allows those orchestrating the show to assign jobs to people to get things done. Until you are willing to form a formal group with leadership and assemble people willing to be part of that this will not come to pass. |

Demica Diaz wrote:Aaron wrote:Hello and welcome back to another episode of Hub Zero, I'm your host Aaron. The goal of Hub Zero is for the brave pilots of Eve to come together and build a trade hub and blue community in an NPC Null sec area called Stain. This venture requires a good level of teamwork in order to achieve success. Many of you know I have attempted this a few times and failed, I would like it to be different this time. I'd like for anyone coming down to be committed to the cause and happy to work with a community based on fairness and trust. Please please do not join us if you are under the impression you can roll us all up into a corp or alliance that is not what this venture is about. Its about having your independence and having blues you can request assistance from if needed and contributing to a cool community. I'd like to make it clear that I don't want to be seen as a leader, I will set some fair guidelines on how we are to operate as a community. So for example; with regard to fleet command/defence we will have a mailing list where fleet commanders can contact all Hub members and solicit wingmen for their pvp ops. Anyone will be free to use or sharpen up their FC'ing skills with the help of the community. All the guidelines will be cool and friendly and aimed at having fun and giving everyone a chance to shine. This venture will be open to everyone who is committed and would like to get out of their comfort zone. I'd like to warn prospects that this thread will be heavily trolled, try your best to ignore it and don't let it affect your decision to get involved. Working together we can unlock the true power of solo and independent pilots and corps. This could be an epic adventure if you would like to play along, Stay Tuned!!! I remember you from year or so back when you talked about this aswell. If it is not a secret, what went wrong?
This is not his second attempt , i believe it is his fourth , he tries it once a year or so.Allways ends up in drama but hey at least i can now follow something on the forums again.

Uggggh, gimmie a break buddy. I left work 7 hours ago.
All of what you're talking about seems a bit too corp/alliance, I'd like to push a more relaxed approach. Why does everyone seem to be in such a rush?
I see it like this, If there's 5 or 6 blues down here getting on reasonably well a using a mailing list all of us can just chill doing our own thing posting intel and so on then one of us finds a 10/10 which a couple of us join and complete. We've all made a bit of money so its all good. Next day we find one of our blues is being attacked so we chat then fit up some ships try to fight them if we win hooray, if not have a look at where we went wrong and what could be done better.
I for one would be happy to be a wingman, inform me of the op in advance give me some required ship types and I'm there to drop some dps for ya. The mailing list is there use it to organise an op and I for one will be there to support you. I know a clear leadership structure is great for some but for others maybe not so much.
So to put it in simple terms all Hub Zero needs for the moment is just some blues chillin here, Lets just slow it down a bit and get to know each other first before we talk about assigning tasks, and structured groups and orchestrating the take over of Stain.
So,*rubs hands together* Market Banter!!!! for all you doom and gloom guys who think T1 is useless crap. I sold approx 60 million of the crap in 2 days I'm encouraged by this and will maintain it very well. Stain residents are forced to use whatever is available, this is the ghetto which I want to help regenerate and create opportunities. So HAHAHA in the past 2 days you have been wrong about T1 stuff. lol
Chat soon.

This does require a thread on the forums. It's Hub Zero, it's a ******* legend.
As much as me and Aaron have our personal disagreements, I have to admit the whole Hub Zero experience was great for me when I was a new player and taught me some valuable things. It's just as bad an idea now as it was back then, so I'd totally advise giving it a go for anyone looking for a bit of an adventure. |

Hey Aaron is that you?
Up to it again? My points of view.
Hub Zero was actual almost there he did it almost together with Dracvlad. I was seeing progress true the whole setup so much that I was willing to provide the items needed.
To start of you need the pilots and the pilots need ships. What kind of ships is needed depends on what they want PVP or PVE or both.
PVP is very difficult to do often having the correct items on time each time could be a struggle. PVE ships are more or less easy to bring in in the ''old'' days we could jump them in with carriers now this is a new problem the carrier range!
So having ships and equipment will be a huge task you need people willing to bring them in. I know Dracvlad did this many times on his own having jump points scouted and cyno's ready a huge task. Just for bringing in some ships. But in the end you will have your ships ready for your pilots.
I started to seed the markets getting stuff from everywhere there are some good 0.0 markets close I that I could use. The problem is if I wanted to come even in isk I had to recalculate the item on the market buying it and jf fuel cost. People didn't like that they wanted to see Jita prices but that is not possible in Stain at this moment.
I placed about 15 poco's with 5% tax and some of them 0%tax. I don't think they are ever used.
But.....
I think this is the place to be if you are a solo pilot not in a alliance and you want to get some additional isk. You can do your pve in 0.0 in a reasonable safe place. You can do this also in Providence but Stain is even more remote.
For Aaron I would say take it easy with the members if they just want to be there as in a blue status let them. A blue pilot will not attack you (normally) that is also adding to the system.
Good luck with your logistics/carriers your freaking need it with the new jump ranges.
I actual would like to see a new kind of logistic carrier with the old jump ranges but that's not discussed here.
FYI to have the market seeded so the ''more'' used TII equipment was there was about 10billion to start of. I brought my bpo's back to ''other'' places god that was a scary run haha. I still have stuff in the old stations just random things maybe there is something for you in it Jita price.
Good luck.

Hey Orion,
It's a pleasure to read your view.
I don't agree that hub zero was almost there, The time you speak of when Drac was here was a difficult one. The people who appeared to be involved actually were not. Lots of them had no idea that they were part of Hub Zero and some openly said they were not part of Hub Zero.
The reality is that pilots have got to want to be here in order for the market stuff you speak of to work. You are a person who I want to remain on good terms with and once Hub Zero does get going you will be crucial in making it a success. For the moment all I can say is that the patience of Jobe is required here. Right now all that's needed is a few guys to come here and chill, this will build a foundation which others can build on.
I'm actually cool if no one comes. Eve is a universe were people's views get manipulated. Yes it is dangerous here and you can lose assets if you're greedy or not careful. Living here does require a well thought out play-style which I've accepted is not for everyone, however, if you know or can adapt to a particular play style then you can have all the isk you dream of and more. This risk VS reward stuff is very real, don't let anyone tell you different.
My initial focus will be the people, I'd like to make a couple of friends within Eve and get to know them, I will make sure they are comfortable and have what they need in order to move forward. I pledge to have their back and assist in any way I can.
Ok, I found a Bistot site which has helped me increase my zydrine and megacyte holding, I spent 2 hours on it and it worked out well for me. I used my Prospect and easily avoided a small gate camp. I'm reasonably happy my T1 market is going ok with strong encouraging sales on ships and t1 modules. I had a bit of solo PVP in which I was victorious, things are looking great.
I'm more than happy to take private convos if anyone has questions or if there's anything you need clarification on. I'm here to help in any way i can so please feel free to holla at me.

Hey Again Jimbo,
I just wanted to say you were a pleasure to work with and I have no ill feelings toward you. At the time I felt I needed to cut all ties with people who didn't understand what Hub Zero was. Because you had an association with Drac and Moac I felt I had to distance myself so there was no confusion.
I'm hoping the community will help me to make this something you can once again be involved in.

I can agree it has been slow and no one has joined as yet. I can't agree that Hub Zero is dead.
I'm very excited about this attempt I am taking a more cautious approach with how I deal with people and how I market the idea. I can see that Hub Zero is something you cant put a time limit on I believe it is something that will be a long and arduous process.
This is proper sci-fi where a small team of independents try to set-up a small trade hub in the middle of a hostile environment that has amazing isk making qualities. We're just actors in our very own movie. I've read/watched alot of sci-fi and religiously played most sci-fi games, now I'm involved in a game where my influence can change it for the good or bad, this is just too cool.
I'm simply happy that I have an opportunity to type to you here today and present my perspective on the game in the hope of creating a cool sci-fi story for us to enjoy.
I'm calm now, excited but calm....I am in no rush.

I'm really impressed with the demand for t1 ships and fittings the sales from the last 24 hours have been great. Is there any industrialist/marketeer out there who wants a piece of this? Perhaps we could secure more minerals for ourselves working these station sized roids and bistot sites that keep appearing.
I am using a Prospect for mining and it seems to be working out well. My yield is smaller compared to other ships and I have found that I can demand a much higher price for my wares. For example; I sell Thorax's for 15 million and my customers seem to be accepting this because they understand what I am going through to get the minerals. I took the risk and I was rewarded.
Hub Zero is very much about industry and I think this is where I will start. I'm going to unleash the hardcore Lv5 industrialist in me and see how it goes.
I'm really looking forward to working with a couple of enthusiastic Prospect pilots, so much fun can be had searching for mining sites in normal space and wormhole and brigning it back to Stain and injecting it into the economy. Lets get some mining going since it is the foundation of everything.

Maker Atavuli wrote:If stain is still as dead as it was you would be better off in a wormhole with all the kspace connections closed. I wish you luck. I think most people are right about loose alliances, and good ol boy agreements not working. It would be pretty easy to get awoxed if your not running security checks and insuring that the folks you fly with are who and what they claim to be. I would hate to be in a supposedly blue fleet in a ratting ship when that cyno lights up.... You stated that you didn't want to be thought of as a leader. Null systems in simple terms must be held by force of arms. How do you propose to mount a home defense fleet with no leadership? Assuming your defense strategy is more than OH S*** neutral dock up! Is your chosen system in BLOPS range of anywhere? What would keep someone from taking your system after you fill that market up? It's a really neat idea honestly but this is EVE. With your strategy and not being a SOV holder all you need is one unknown toon parked in your station to ruin your system for anything but ship spinning. Your only real defense is a nice quiet system in the armpit of the universe. That will work until a scout checks DOTLAN and sees all that juicy care bear goodness going on. You might be better off renting a system somewhere, at least you could have some control over who can dock up. As well as the benefit of being behind an actual military entity. Controlling a system is hard when you have bodies interested in fighting. It will be a true feat if you can wrangle a bunch of care bears into camping your gates to maintain security while their buds are out sucking up DED sites. Please let us know how this turns out.
Hello Maker,
I think you have gotten used to a play style that will restrict your game and make it difficult for you to flourish here in Stain.
Home defence fleets can be tricky to organise for a loose coalition of blues, but not impossible. There are other ways to secure your earning potential without relying fully on the ability to dock or even having a defence fleet, have you considered an "under the radar" type of play? Part of this venture is about limiting your loss by taking full advantage of things like cloaking, D-scan, insta-undocks, gatescan bookmarks, gate-crashing, scouting, using all 3 of your toon slots and skilling your toons for specific purposes.
In Stain if you play solo or in a small corp that relies heavily on docking at a station then yes your play style will leave you open to being camped in the station and spinning your ship. However, If you can fit a cloak to your ship and cloak in a system with no station then I can almost 100% guarantee that you will not be bothered and you'll be free to earn your money. This is my reality some of my toons haven't docked in years.
I'm not saying Hub members have to live like this forever, I'm thinking we stay under the radar until we can get to know our other blues well and develop friendship and trust. I'm not one to play this game in a conventional way I will take the time to analyse things and find loopholes a major loophole is that hardly anyone is bothered to camp a system with no station, I have taken it to the extreme and fully exploited this and am eager to show other pilots this play-style. No unknown toon docking in a station can ruin MY game, that's a fact.
My 13 years of playing Eve have enabled me to see what is difficult to see which makes me a good person to organise this and ensure all members of Hub Zero are trustworthy and here to help move the venture forward.
Please please try to think outside the bubble @ Maker, great adventures await.
Sales for my T1 crap which no one wants or needs has reached approx 1/3 of a billion isk since I started this thread. All of the systems around here that do not have a station remain empty and untouched, and there are a couple of corps living at the main station system doing missions and sites. There is tons of fertile land to sow our seeds of growth.

Dear New Players,
I'd like to help open your eyes to the wonders of Eve Online by unlocking your potential. Since 2007 I have been helping new players learn how to survive within the game under hostile conditions, these players are now up to great things within Eve.
When I first came to Stain almost 10 years ago I immediately saw the potential and hurried to get a complete set of T1 ships and module blueprints here It was risky because the only way was to cov-ops it all here. I must have done over 20 trips carrying valuable blueprints. I've recently started manufacturing a few of every blueprint and it is going very well.
I'm fine with lots of new players coming here for Hub Zero, I am in a position to supply everything you need and I can give you advice on ship fitting and tactics for pve and pvp. The back story of this is that we are trying to build a blue community and economy within a hostile area that will benefit the cool people in Eve.
This venture adds to the many things that a new player can do in order to gain more experience in Eve, If lots of new players come here then hopefully we will get more experienced players here wanting to advise them.
Try to look at Hub Zero as a home away from home, come and go as you please, make friends, and have as much fun as possible.

I must say the whole idea of Hub Zero is definitely intriguing. I would very much like to visit it when it get's established. He has come back to Stain and found that the CEO of his old corp has turned everyone against him and he is alone down here. I informed him that I am doing a more relaxed Hub Zero were where for the moment I'd just like to blue a few solo players to get a solid foundation going, he seemed to like the idea.
I'm determined not to screw this up. I'm just gonna be cool and go with the flow while still trying to build the Hub.
I honestly think I can help this dude with earning, pvp, and scouting, he can also help me.
It is interesting that he contacted me, maybe he knew I wouldn't turn him away. He knows I am loyal to the cause and I will stop at nothing to see Hub Zero succeed.
Hub Zero is the way forward for Eve in my opinion, recruiting is hard, maintaining a corporation is hard. Blue communities can help people feel as if they're not alone.

Reminder that most of lowsec and npc null is exactly this, a few blues doin their thing but without the need to advertise or try to make it seem epic or new. Try mining with a couple of well tanked Procurers that have points n painters and most important: a bunch of combat ships to come wreck any wandering iWin ship that has a go. You can structure a whole feud over failed attempts at killing bait-miners and still bring in tons of minerals compared to scratching away with a frigate.

Hey Chopper,
Great to see you take a break from trolling and put forward some ideas.
You are correct, there are lots of blue communities in null. The main problem is that if a solo pilot or small corp try to join these communities they will demand payment or say that your corp is too small and try to roll you up into their corp or alliance. The solo player will decline and were back to square one again where solo players remain solo for most of their eve experience.
I've joined a few alliances in my time and I remember not being able to have much freedom to do what I wanted. I remember being told to go on gate camps and pvp ops when I didn't really want to. It felt like other people owned my game. I'm not saying it is like this in every corp or alliance, I'm just saying that this play style isn't for everyone.
I think you're right about the mining, I would hope that when more people join the Hub we can setup something like this and get some pvp out of it and extra minerals. The Prospect suits the current situation because I am alone and am happy to settle for a limited amount of minerals while taking less risk. I have been selling Vexor's for 15 million at the moment and considering selling them at 17 to 20 million. I know I will still get sales because I don't have much competition and my customers know it is a struggle to get minerals here.
