Don't know, what's happening there, but if one LV pos (large pos I assume) is still fully operational, then sovereignty switches 5 days after they lost the majority of (large) poses in that system afaik.
If you want sovereignty to switch instantly, you need to take down all poses (or at least all large poses, not sure about that detail), but I'm sure about the 5-days.

If you don't have full moon-coverage, the attacker spams towers, instead of attacking your poses. A no-brainer.
During [5] vs. RA, pos spammage was new, game-mechanics was also a bit different, a small tower cost 40mil or so and the whole pos warfare was not so advanced, like it is now.
Nowadays dozens of POS are normal, like dozens of dreads are normal, like spending billions on pos fuel.
People have adapted to this game mechanics, because if you don't put up a pos, your enemy does it, instead of attacking a battlestar pos, because anchoring a tower is easier and less risk.
Anyway, all blabla, let's see, how it goes on. Hope it goes on. Personally I'd rather switch corp&alliance, before I have goonfleet+co. napped for convenience. For me it's over, when Goonies are defeated.
( Personally no diplomatic nap-bullsh... for me for convenience anytime soon, I said that already when V disbanded and I still see it the same way )
