This is what one of my toons is using currently. Super tanky, but still like 680dps.
How can I improve on this or should I start from scratch?
Thanks all!

it's a stronger vexor so works under same principles. Though I would actually use pulse lasers if you can fit them
Also 2 geckos+augmented ogre does more damage since ishtar get's bonuses to heavies |

the paper dps is lower but the ishtar tracking bonus to heavies makes it much superior to having the 2 med+light out |

I was actually going to suggest 180mm autos to take of some cap pressure.
The fit is solid there are a couple of changes I might make though they are marginal incremental changes.
I think you can fit a restrained microwarpdrive and you should do so. Even better if you did fit autos I think you can fit T2 which is now faster as well as having less cap penalty.
I don't think the gecko cost is justified but that is just me. That Isk could get you T2 rigs or a faction mod like a navy web.
Lows are solid, possibly an RAH over the explosive hardener depending the ships you expect to fight, could change a rig to explosive pump if required. From an overheating point of view things could be moved around a bit, reps on the ends.

Reactive hardener on something with such a small armor buffer is generally bad, I can elaborate further if you would like but not got tons of time to get into it right this second. It generally boils down whether the fight is a 1v1 where you are taking only two damage types. In that case it is better but in nearly all other situations it is worse than a second eanm (especially using a ancil rep in combination).

This is about as optimised as it gets and covers every eventuality. It gives you marginally less dps than an autocannon variant you posted (although they are a good option). The main difference being you get a medium and small neut which allows you to break some things you otherwise would be unable to and allows you to shake tackle if required.
Never use x2 Gecko, x1 heavy on any 125 bandwidth drone ship ever. It is always an inferior combination of drones compared to x2 Gecko, x2 Mediums, x1 light regardless of the heavy drone tracking bonus. Can support that with the boring numbers if you would like to see.
Meta the neuts if you want to run it in a totally clean pod but a 3% PG implant is cheap. Personally i would not run Geckos on a brawl Ishtar (too easy to lose it) but it comes down to personal preference. The above fit will cost you 300m on the nose. |

This is as good of a fit as it gets if you're in lowsec. If you're in null, go with a MWD.
It's a judgement call if you want to swap out a DDA w/ another EANM or hardener. Bling out the reppers as you deem fit. Avoid Geckos as the damage isn't that much higher compared to 5 heavies. Don't use a reactive hardener unless you know the incoming damage is one type. Not to mention it takes a good minute for the reactive hardener to reach it's peak
If you got the isk, spend the money on 5 augmented ogres which is 35M ISK each. 742 DPS. Otherwise, it's 675 DPS with Ogres.
Avoid guns in the highslot and just put 2 neuts and a small nos. The idea is that you're applying DPS to a primary and neuting and nosing another target. This helps reduce incoming dps because once the ship is cap-dry, you're probably hitting a third into your AAR. The less dps you can absorb, the greater your survivability. I don't think the guns are worth it because you also have to account for getting into range. Some people just aren't great at multi-tasking whereby you need to watch your repping, capacitor, if they're killing your drones, if you're in range with your guns,etc...
Just let your drones do the damage and minimize the sensory overload

Thanks for all the feedback!
Its always best to get a few sets of eyes on a fit so thank you.
I'm gonna set a few of these up and come back with more questions if I have any. |

If you want to fly a neut, fly a Curse.
Eve Minions is recruiting. Learn from about pvp, learn about ships and how to fly them correctly. Small gang and solo action in high, low and nullsec and w-space alike.
We will teach you everything you need and want to know.

Its for the kiting fits (which are kinda dead now), a rack of 200s or light ions or similar isnt going to help you there, but 3 medium neuts mean tackle is not sticking on you.
For the brawlling fits you dont have the cap sadly, if you use dual rep with a booster all your cap is going to your reps and you cant afford to neut. |
