Fellow Capsuleers
Every year we celebrate the day the Federation was founded, we are reminded of the great lengths our shared society has advanced since we were denizens of a single planet. Today our government is now present across interstellar distances, bringing together cultures and people to share an ideal. To celebrate that ideal, to promote it, to renew our conviction, we will celebrate once again on June 18th at Dodixie - Moon 20 - Federation Navy Assembly Plant.
The Federation shares many ideals; on this occasion we will choose one of them in particular, the peopleGÇÖs choice, expressed through voting rights , motions, petitions and proposals given to our representatives to improve our democracy, our laws, our quality of life.
This year celebration is an invitation to any and all capsuleers who wish to bring forth an idea to be discussed by our government representatives, something that improves our Federation, strengthen our culture and helps everyone equally. Madmoiselle Rinai Vero secretary of the Villore Assembly will compile all proposals and petitions submitted to this GalNet thread. The best 3 petitions will receive a Federation Navy Comet as prize.
If you wish to join our festivities, bring your preferred ship and undock at Dodixie Moon 20 Fed Navy Assembly plant on June 28th around 21:00 eve time. Remember to equip festival launchers and plenty of fireworks.
DISCLAIMER: Space security and CONCORD regulations around the station do not ensure safety during the festivities, you can be attacked if you or your corporation is under the effects of WarDecs or killrights, and even then, fanatics might attack you to sabotage the event. Take all the necessary precautions to keep risks to a minimum.

Awesome. I can't wait!
Er...I might need to shove a few ISKies at CONCORD before attending. I'm not popular with them at the moment. Something about improperly shooting Goons in LoSec...
My proposal is not a new one. It has been brought up before. It needs to be brought up again.
Intaki is a full member of the Federation. Our planet, economy, culture and people have become an integral part of the Federation. But our homeworld is cut off from the Federation. With a CONCORD security rating of 0.1, it is difficult, if not impossible to compete economically. Prices are high because most pilots are unwilling or unable to access our system. Our planet has been the focal point of Caldari aggression on more than one occasion. People have suffered and died because even the FDU found it difficult to get through with desperately needed aid.
I propose an increase of the security ratings of Ostingele, Agoze and Vey to a minimum of .5 and Intaki itself to a minimum of .6. This would cut off pirate (I know, I know) access to the area from Verge Vendor and Syndicate and limit the Caldari's ability to travel to us from Black Rise. It would open a direct path to the markets of Stacmon. Tax revenue from increased travel and tourism alone would more than pay for this effort. Alternatively, I would propose an increase of Intaki's security rating to a minimum of .7 and Vey a minimum of .6 and suggest the construction of a jump gate from Vey to Vinnon. Again, this would increase security in the area and the revenues generated by increased trade and business opportunities would pay for this project in very short order. This initiative would also lead to continued stability on Intaki and lead to the eventual demise of violent separatist organizations.
The Federation has long expressed its love for Intaki and her people. Now is the time make good on that claim.

CONCORD security ratings reflect reality, they don't shape it. What you should be asking for is federal assets being deployed to the stargates in and out of Intaki Prime, to help deal with the security issues that justify the rating.

I think our experiences living and working in Intaki are very similar.
I think we both know what the Federation's response to my proposal is going to be. It's going to be exactly the same as every other proposal the Intaki have made regarding the betterment of our homeworld. I'm not a politition. Feel free to rewrite the proposal and make it sound pretty.
But yeah, at the end of the day, I'm pretty sure we're both on the same page as to how this is gonna play itself out.

Despite the recent violent relationships between the Gallente and Caldari my proposal is the reunification of both nations. That won't happen over night and is a long way to go but everything starts with a first step.
The Gallente Federation would show once more its greatness by doing that first step with an official condolence to all Caldari victims of the past wars. Atrocities were made on both sides. As the prime of human evolution we shouldn't be afraid of naming ours.
Secondly we need a strong combined Caldari-Gallente-Fleet in Luminare. If we can't fend off a coordinated Drifter attack on Caldari facilities there, the war proponents among the Caldari will use that as propaganda against us.
Thirdly I suggest an aid programme for needy Caldari children. With care packages we can show them that we aren't the monsters warmongers tell them. By winning their hearts we can fight future wars without violence.
Also if the Intaki want more Federation forces in their home system, helping to increase the security and the status, then I see no reason why the Federation should let them down.

Pilot Deva, while the specifics of your well-intended proposal may be well on the naive side, and frankly, not anywhere close to enough to be able to heal the rift between our peoples, if all Gallente had your heart and all Caldari had the wisdom to receive it, true, actual peace, stronger than anything New Eden has seen in generations, might actually come about.
Thank you.

Good point made.
Peace at any price? I would not support such a reunification. The Corporations do NOT belong in a Gallente-type democracy. Unless, of course, they are willing to abandon and publicly repudiate their fascist regime. |

A possible reunification is a long process which lies a long time ahead. A time many of us won't witness. The only condition, or call it price, I have to all of us is to keep an open mind and not to close the doors for those who follow us into the stars.
The wars between our great nations brought us nothing, only death, suffering and misery. To end that someone has to do the first step, open its arms in friendship for a great future for all of us together. - That's my proposal.

If the outcome of such a referendum rejects a reunification, then so shall it be.

But I see a trend in accepting peaceful relationships and we should continue to walk that path together, without holding hands of course, yet.
My proposal still stands. The Federation should start a process of reconciliation with the Caldari, with the option of a future reunification.
