Posted - 2007.02.25 23:02:00 - [1] Hey to all you Mech fans out there. just wanted to know how many of you guys in Eve play mech warrior and what kinda mech do you use? maybe we can even get a Eve players only match going? my mech is a catapult with explosives fitted and reduced armor to increase speed. j/k i do like the Marauder though. don't really stick to 1 mech.

Basically, no heat sinks, and 8 groupfire machine guns, with a very fast engine/drive section. Essentially, you had to get right up on your enemy, then tear thru them with a laser of lead. It was quite effective.

I liked the whole mechwarrior thing but never really bought it. I got mechwarrior 4 (I think) but I ended up losing the play disc Although I remember first seeing it nearly a decade ago in a computer mag about battletech but it was like a huge computer center all hooked up where people sat in the*****pit of their mech and ran around in teams killing each other. I love the Mad Cat, go clan mechs

I usually load out a pair of gauss canons, increase a little it's armor (espescially the legs and arms), and use all the remaining space with lasers and heatsinks. I try to get a mighty big alpha strike to destroy parts of enemy mechs in a single salvo... ------------------------------------------ Every ship has a base 60-70% resist against the primary damage type of the race that is the least able to vary it's damage types.

But that was a horrible city brawler. Thor wasn't bad either. And Cauldron Born could so damn nasty if you let it close enough. Hated most of the IS mechs though.

Couldn't keep up with the ever irritating paper cougars, of course, but was fast enough to intercept and deliver a single hit that'd knock 'em on their arses, at which point.. I love the Daishi/Direwolf awesome weapons configuration lot of omni slots on that bad boy. I like to go with the ER LG Lasers PPC's Gauss Rifles all has to be clan of course assortment of LRMs and SSRMS oh can't forget the LBX auto cannon basically a shotgun on steroids great for getting up close and personal... The Uziel is pretty sweet not bad for urban combat. The Mek Packs clan/innersphere add loads of fun with the mechs that are installed. warhawk/masakri is a good all round mech also. wish they would still support it, I miss playing it online. Curse you Microsoft!!!!!!

As for Daishi's not being city brawlers, I used one with 3 LBX 20's and 2 LBX 10's, no speed all armor with good effect. Its basicly a turret that 2 volley's everything, if it survives the first hit. :P

Strider w/16 Flamers = Mr. Zippo (Fun making mechs go heat level critical, followed by a big huge boom!) Mw4..Cougar w/ 135kph speed, 2 ER Large Lasers, 1 heat sink, Wet-paper armor (quintessentially anyways). I could rack up so many kills in this thing due 90% purely to a DFA. Also loved my stock Uziel and 6 ER Large Timberwolf (hot, but who cares).

I never played mechwarrior long enough to get into custom fitting my mech.
