Hi! I have a problem with the updater/repair tool.Running the game on a Windows 7 laptop. After today's Down time Ran the client as normal the PopUp for Client update came,I accepted it it started the download then closed the client to run the update. Here after patching a message came stating that the update failed would I like to run the Repair tool. So I accepted it and the repair tool ran and came to "Downloading recipes : Initializing.." And is stuck there..... Task manager shows that it is running. so I'm stuck and unable to log into the game :( Thx for Assistance in advance :)

This!!! I love spreadsheets online but having to move and resize them every time I logon, dock, undock is getting to be a pain... & stop asking for me to accept the EULA unless you've changed it!!!
How about locking the Devs in a room with some PCs & asking them to fix bugs, and don't let them out, or allow beer, weed or pizza into the room until they fix the most obvoius bugs!

Some of these sound like there might be a zombie EVE process in the background causing the patcher some grief, the easiest way to make sure there are no such processes running is to reboot the computer. Please try this and report back.
As for container windows moving around, yes we know about this and we have facepalmed quite hard. There is a fix in the pipes. CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

This was the correct solution to my issue. There turned out to be two 'exefile' processes running, which was obviously stopping the repair tool repairing, and presumably stopped the initial patch working too. |

Please try using the generic patcher instead, is basically does the same thing as the repair tool. You can download it here: http://content.eveonline.com//327748/evepremiumpatch327748.exe
Simply run it and select the client you want to update to the 327748 (current TQ) version. CCP Gangleri | Senior Tester | EVE Release Management

With show details
FYI hitting show details was a pain cause the error occurs almost instantly and hitting retry/cancel/X will just make it pop back up straight way.
L: is a valid drive and is the drive where EVE is installed
On a side note, the L partition is 3.5TB, something which seems to cause problems with the installer recently. I tried running setup from scratch cause of these patch problems but L: shows as having -1539.-35 GB or something.. has a long been downgraded to int somewhere? heh |

Thanks for taking the time to report these, we have a pretty good idea of what is causing your problems and are going to work on fixing them. I have reported 3 bugs 18 days ago and they are still marked as "Not filtered". Two of them seem to be fixed but one that really annoys me is still there. When opening the Fitting window, I can hear the associated sound effect multiple times. It seems to cause some small lag while opening the window and displaying everything in it. |

I am currently experiencing a problem where showing info on a character renders the info window contents only as far as the avatar's forehead or right below the character's title text. The loading indicator is still spinning after a minute or so.
In fact, this problem is manifesting itself on all attempts to show info on characters regardless of whether I close the show info window or not.

The issue has resolved itself, mostly.
Currently, the "Character: Information" windows render in chunks. In the case noted above, only the top third was rendering. Testing for this issue again, I noticed each distinctive "chunk" of the window contents loaded with perhaps just under a second's delay.
I suppose it is time to submit some sort of official bug report...

Sorry, CCP you suck. You really do. I am very disappointed in your patches all the time. I have to run the repair.exe nearly as often as I have to go to the toilet.
This really sucks. Cant you test your patches before publishing? Is there no user Win7 PC around where you work and where you can test this? Today repair.exe told me that there is another newer version, I clicked "use the new one" and all i got is a new failure, that rename.exe is broken. Hello?!? Seriously!!!! I tryed it with the old repair.exe after that but it had a failure at step (6/7) aswell.
You really need to improve. You can inplement new ships and so on all the time if you want, but you have to do it correct. the happiness of users like me will end as soon as something is not working. An all the good things in crusible will vanish from our minds when we experience issues like this.

EVE updater broke my installation on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine.
The repair tool found slummering EVE processes, the bootstrapper and EVE.exe. After killing them and rerunning repair tool, I got several errors that ended the repair abrubt. But I just ran the program a few times to see if that would help. It did. Eventually I got the following mssg:
OSError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: 'C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE\\bin\\tmp024w8x.repair'
Running the tool in administrative mode fixed this error and the tool completed the repair.

It seems as a lack of respons regarding all the UI windows issues, so maybe we should try to explain them more clearly.
This is a very annoying one. You can replicate it by doing the following (I guess). 1. When docked/ship spinning: Open the cargo hold. Place it above the chat window and fit it in where you want it. 2. Change ship, the cargohold closes 3. Open the cargohold again. It places itself at the bottom of the screen, pushing the chat window up. EDIT: There are more ways this show up, I just try to explain this easy way to replicate it.
Another one: 1. When docked/ship spinning, open the cargohold and place it above the chat window as above. 2. Join a fleet, place that window above the two other windows. They are now sort of aligned above each others. 3. Undock 4. Dock 5. The windows are now placed half way up the screen. For me the fleet windows is completely gone (guess it's outside the visible area) 6. If I click the fleet button to the left (as closing the fleet window) and then click it again all the windows gets back again as they were placed from the beginning.
There are more of these, but I don't care to explain more of them right now. Maybe my lack of programming skills makes me sound stupid now, but from my limited point of view it looks really simple: Just let the windows remember their coordinates on the screen. All of them! If there is a window in the way when you try to open a new one, then just let it open on top of it. Just like MS Windows. Just like EvE online actually worked before Incarna. Just as everyone else handles windows. Really, what's the problem? I have feelings, I can smile - and murder while! |

My Asus N55s windows 7 laptop runs the new version fine, both on the intel HD graphics and the Nvidia Optimus gpu also full speed on high.
it is impossible for CCP to test every single hardware / software config on the planet hence why they ask for feedback on issues individuals have so perhaps posting your specs will aid them in resolving your issue.

Two bugs with the chat window:
1. For example corp chat: After logging in and selecting corp chat tab, everyone in the channel is invisible, though I know, at least I am there or more toons of mine. After resizing the text area with the thin bar dividing the it from the people in chat they appear.
2. Say I am in local chat and many chats are grouped in one window, selectable by tabs. Now when I resize the client(window mode) the active chat window always jumps to the last tab in the chat window. I closed the char info window after it hung loading any and all char portraits at the forehead, did a "show info" on an item in my hangar, closed that and double-clicked a char in local for info, and now I get the full portrait but no other information. The spinny thing spins and spins forever without loading the rest of the info window. Bug report incoming.
EDIT: As part of filing a bug report, I pressed CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-M to bring up the monitor. I clicked the tab for "Outstanding" to see what that showed, and the entire EVE client locked up tight. I had to forcibly shut down ExeFile.exe to recover (ESC didn't work, CTRL-Q didn't work). |

When I have a module active (well - modules that have any sort of constant graphic - ie invulnerability field, shield/armor repper, sensor booster, etc - I cannot look at the sun (I cannot have the sun anywhere in my view). The entire screen blinks, full white, a lot. The more modules, the worse it is - and if it's not blinking, it just sits at pure white. I'm unsure if maybe this is already documented, and I missed it. Anyway, it's made it extremely difficult to play - I can hardly see my overview when it happens so I can't even use that as a backup. It *seems* like it's gotten worse in this patch, because now I can't have the sun in view at all, but it's possible that I just wasn't as annoyed by it before. |

Could you try setting graphics to Performance and report back here?
This may be related to an issue that we are currently investigating, the Mac uses more memory (keeps multiple copies of textures) due to the way DirectX to OpenGL conversion works and this sometimes causes crashes similar to the one you describe. For the issues here they come: * Chat windows jumping each dock/undock (when aligned to bottom left) Bugg = 120801 . * Fleet composition resetting window size each time you open it. Bugg = 120810 * Drag chat windows from group makes sometimes an really big gap between the mouse and the window border making it impossible to dock it with another group without having to release it and then drag it once again. * Context Menu [Invite To....] takes ages to load sometimes. Sometimes it wont display and sometimes will get stuck and get behind the first displayed list
* Corp members not showing up at load (you need to toggle the chat if in group or make it update somehow) * Ship inside ship when flying in space (was the paladin) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2137335/eveonline/shipinship.jpg
* Chat windows seem to have different colors sometimes. (Need to pin/unpin to get the real colors) * Jumping betwen incursion systems you can end up having several incursion channels loaded up. * Overloading your rack will show in fitting screen higher dps but sometimes it will get stuck so even when not overloading it will show the old DPS info. * Trails render behind gun shots all the time so when flying above a ship that shoots the lazer shots will look like its in front of the trail. (think layers) * Sidewarp still happens from time to time.

Ok cargo cans are now fixed (as afar as my basic testing shows)
Now can you get the training queue window to rememer MY settings, and not expand massively to the left & off-screen when I try to hold the centre divider and drag it right (so that I can read the skill names to the left) & once adjusted remember those column settings!
Also can you sort out those windows that dont change from blackest black to the user UI colours (steath in my case) (Planet Mode, Loading CQ, Entering Station, Undock, Entering Space - being some examples)
The devs can have 1 portion of beer, weed & pizza now but still need to be locked back in afterwards |

Just to back up what SillyWaif is saying; the probes not having labels is something that used to happen from time to time. Now they're off all the time, which makes it a nightmare to centre the screen on them for easier positioning of subsequent scans. |

Issues:
When selecting Corporate Hanger or Ship Maintenance Arrays, the "open/use" icon "lights up" around 5000m and when you attempt to use it, an error message of "you need to be 3000m" away to use this item appears.
When you select and try to open a Medium Proj pos gun from over 5000m and try to open it, "no reason is given" is the error message.
Bookmarks seem to "break". Instead of allowing warp they allow "approach location". This effect seems ONLY to affect custom's offices.

SillyWaif is right. Scanning has now become incredibly hard to do without wanting to throw up on my keyboard. Labels obscure the probes, making it a pain to see them. They indeed have nothing to click on to centre the view. I'm well aware of what bookmarks I have in system, and have no need, nor want, for these new labels.
For the love, of all that is fictional, please sort a hot fix!

Um, no. A scan after DT and the update today shows all sig IDs still having exactly the same 2nd & 3rd letters, only the first letter differs. This makes it difficult to distinguish between, say, QGO and OGO. |

A workaround is to toggle the 'Show' icon for Bookmark under Solar System Map settings, so bookmarks (funny, they forgot to change the name to 'locations') aren't shown at all. This worked for me. But yeah, they should've made it so the hints only show up when you mouse over, like before, and so you can toggle them off. |

Since the micropatch that was deployed today all I can access is a nice high resolution loading screen where the status messages of: Server: TQ / Status: Unknown are all I can pull up.
If I attempt to log in the options of no internet connection - unlikely, as I'm typing this on the same machine I play - down server, or wrong port information are the results the program returns.
This is after running the repair tool which was run because the patch would not download originally.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I have restarted multiple times to remove potential Windows conflicts from other open programs. I've just run the repair tool to see if there were any corrupted files.
Currently the only option I have left is to attept a clean install and see if that will resolve the issue, but I'd rather not have to devote an entire night (or more) to reinstalling. |

There seems to be an issue with windows going partially unresponsive.
Happened with chat windows, where linked character names can suddenly no longer be clicked.
Also happened to me with the overview. It can be minimized, I can switch between overview tabs, but the mouse cursor does not update to the appropriate symbol you usually get when hovering over the overview, and nothing listed in there can be left- or right-clicked. This is a rather serious bug, as being unable to interact with your overview can be a virtual death sentence.
In case of the chat windows, the issue ceased (and eventually re-appeared) on its own. Just logged out when it started happening with the overview, so not sure.

Filed under my alt name, three reports actually.
When thinking about it, maybe this isn't really a bug but rather an attempt from CCP to create some sort of "feature"...? The following example illustrates it:
1. I place chat window at the bottom. I snap cargo hold above it. Then snap fleet window above the cargo hold. In other words, the three windows are "stacked" or "snapped" (or what you prefer to call it) on top of each others. 2. I close the cargo hold (the mid-window) 3. Now the fleet window moves down and "snaps" with the chat window instead. This is where I think it goes wrong, and it doesn't help to pin. It just don't stay where it is placed! And if I open the cargo hold again, it does not necessarily jumps into the same place in the stack as it was before I closed it. And it certainly doesn't if it's another ships cargo hold.
Simply: the windows just don't stay where I want them to stay. So maybe not a bug but rather an unwanted feature? Only CCP can answer. In most cases this is just annoying... very annoying. I have feelings, I can smile - and murder while! |

Thank you for fixing the BM^H^H location labels, and returning the probe labels. I can scan my way through w-space again.
I notice, however, that there is no longer any appreciable delay between mousing over a BM^H^H location or celestial object and the entire stack of objects being expanded vertically. Whilst the general functionality of this is very handy, doing so with no delay makes moving the cursor around the screen somewhat awkward.
Can that small delay be reintroduced, please, so that we don't end up clicking on moons when we don't intend to? |

Sure, but you are missing the point. If I snap the chat window in the bottom right corner, it should not be pushed from that corner whatever I do. If I snap it to the cargo, it should not snap to something else in the stack... I have feelings, I can smile - and murder while! |

The major beef I have is that after all the patches, the Naga Battlecruiser still hasn't been fixed yet. Please put the launcher slots and the appropriate bonuses back on right away. Thank you.
Sincerely,

When you try to put a industry job, the default value is Pick Installation, instead of OK. In a previous patch this was fixed. Since crucible you simply have to click more, (once again) instead of just hitting return. Was this intended? If so, it was not in any patch notes I saw. Also, the corp hangar does not remain open if you undock/dock.
Another annoying thing, if you open a window let's say Market deliveries on a char, and another char on the account does not have the rights to see that window, you get an error message that you don't have the role... After the error message, the only way the station services and window appears is to undock then abort. |

There is that year old bug again, where you can't jump a stargate while you are agressing the NPCs |

Okay, I have filed two petitions on this issue and a bug report.. all have recived ZERO attention.. hell, they haven't even been looked at and it has been over a week.
Configuring Customs Offices DOES NOT WORK. Or it MAY work, but there is no error message. Well... there IS an error.. but it is an entirely blank dialog with no information at all. The first time you right click and choose "Configure" from corp assets in space you get.. nothing. The second time, a blank dialog comes up.
To say that I am pissed off at this is a massive understatment. This has been going on for a week. We are making no income on our investment because no one can use the god damn things because we can't configure them! Worse, I can't change the reinforment timer on them so they ALL come out of reinforced at a time that works for people in Iceland and no where else! Perhaps CCP would like to alarm clock an op at 3:30am because their game doesn't work as advertised?
The character could configure COs fine up until about a week ago. Then CCP did an update and I am back where I started. You broke it, you fix it. The length of time this issue has stood open without even a response is unacceptable in a company like CCP. |

Just an update. It is now the 3rd of January. CCP still hasn't responded to a petition filed on the 20th of December regarding the new Customs Office feature. Almost two weeks and not even a reply back to the petition to say that it is being looked at.
I think what is broken here is CCP customer service. It seems the last patch broke their ability to actually respond to people and provide.. you know.. customer service! |

Two issues I noticed lately:
- Capacitor display
It is definitely bugged. There are inconsistencies, both when being neuted (by one or multiple targets) and when running a large number of cap-intensive modules. I've had LRARs being shut off with cap-display showing >1/3 cap left.
- Advanced Laser Crystals
Several times now, trying to load used crystals resulted in fresh crystals being loaded (Scorch M and Imperial Navy Multifrequency M). Depending on how many sets you carry (and it keeps loading unused crystals, over and over), you end up with hundreds of single items in your cargohold. You have no way of telling when any given one of them will break, and rather than getting a clean re-load cycle, one gun just turns off when one of the bazillion used crystals eventually dies.
I'm definitely not the first person to report the Capacitor display bug. I'm sorry, but these issues need to be addressed, please. |

A little something called Christmas and New Year happened between the 20th Dec and the 3rd Jan, it is a time of great annual leave and low staff levels. |
