I run two large towers with a total of 30 mobile laboratories (last I counted), all set up for alliance research, and would be interested in getting in contact with you to expand the alliance reach in space. My towers are located in Bawilan (a 0.5 system) near Jel, and only a few jumps out of Dodixie. I figure why compete when we can build a nice big alliance network for the eve population. I will not be in-game for another 10 hours or so, but if someone wants to catch up with me on MSN, my nick is [email protected] . I am available right now, and would love a chat there for the moment. Is this a new feauture that came with the patch or has it always been around? If it's been around for a while why is it suddenly so popular? Why didn't it work before, because nobody wanted to start an alliance for this purpose? Cause I guess this solves the whole research problem, no more need for collateral, which was the problem for any research corp to make a good business out of it I guess... It's been around for a while. I am told there is one or two others who have this type of setup. Though I have never heard of them myself. I do have a perverse pride in my 2+ mil skill points in corporation management, but boy was it a grind. All the UI is there for setting up a POS to be public so anyone can research at it. It has been around for a while, but not necessarily used. I have spoken with a few people who said that they tried the same thing but it never took off. I think that the reason for that is poor marketing (as I and other alliance members have never heard of it) and the fact that the startup generally takes about a month or two, as you generally wait for the clients BPOÆs to come out of research wherever they are at and then they are moved over to where you are at. There were some bugs with POS's preventing this for a while, however they were stealth fixed while I was in 0.0 so I donÆt know when that happened. But yes, there are no separate fees, or transfers to worry about. The corporate wallet has always been billed for research done, regardless of who you are having do the research when you install it (works the same for NPC slots). So if you install a job the corporation running the slot gets the fees transferred from your corp wallet into thereÆs. Highsec POS labs with no risk of scamming

It's been around since labs started, the mad rush for not seeing it was probably the fact that you have options to make slots available to the public and we were hoping that the public would get the slots. There is a 2nt and probably more important factor as to why people dont continue looking at this option, and that's because tech2 research (time or material), copying, and now invention, are only doable by the corp who owns the pos (copying is possible, but it can take a week or so for a GM to actually get you the copys out). The method works good, I supply 2 other corps with slots and they never have any trouble using them, it's one reason why we set up our alliance ;).
