In a lot of places this has already been added.
BTW why 1,000,000? Why not 1.000.000?
There are european players in this game as well, you know? --- soonÖ |

Im european, and my county sure use "," as separator.
But, it would (no matter which of them) be great to have it. ........ There is a fine line between gate camping and just standing by a gate, looking like an idiot...

Well Dutch people don't, and I believe, French German and quite some other don't as well.
I'm not sure but there are quite a few places that already use separation-chars Examples are the wallet (all sections of it even)and quite a few sections of the market.
So where exactly should it still be changed? --- soonÖ |

ok well pretty odd topic really but I can answer why we don't use 1.000.000
because eve now has decimals so it could be 1,000,000.50 or whatever

Sure will do for me Archemedes, as said - as long as there is a separator - realistically we need ',' or '.' though please. |

So long as your computer has its Regional Settings correct to the country in which you reside, the developers can access your chosen preference. Its a very easy thing to determine, and format the numbers to display in the chosen form.
I would personally just ask that they enable country/region numbering formats in the game, and when they display items in the market supply/demand tables that those numbers are formatted in this manner.
Also, you might note that sell/buy orders with decimal places also show up not in the correct place in the ordering, but actually all at the end, or all at the start (if you order by value), and not actually where they should appear in the value listings.

It does go to hundreths yes, but they put those 2 in superscript instead of after a decimal point.

The reason commas are used is because using periods looks too much like decimals.
1,219 vs 1.219
There's a source of confusion in using dots.

wow you guys put alot of work into this post it should be
1,000,000.000 that way we can tell the differance what number is this
1.000.000.000 is that one
1,000,000.000.000.000 that will work too
where on earth do they use decimals im in the US and our schools teach , so im confused on where there use decimals and put them all over in the number to confuse things.

May the Spirit of New Eden shine brightly on your path. |

Great idea, counting them zero's is a pain in the a*s
You could always just look at the fitting requirements though ? So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

Well, this whole post is a non-issue. But since you ask. The whole world except US (and UK ?)(+ related coutries) use , for decimals and . for thousands etc. _______________________________________________

Agree..
Could use spaces instead of commas or periods? ie. 1.0 10.0 100.0 1000.0 10 000.0 100 000.0 1 000 000.0 10 000 000.0 100 000 000.0 1 000 000 000 000.0 10 000 000 000 000.0 100 000 000 000 000.0

there are 2 values in the prefs.ini called digit= and decimal=
you should be able to adjust whatever you want there. however the decimal= value is read out by the client very well, the digit= one not. whatever you put in there, it wont be recognized.
both values lack the ability to use whitespaces aswell (or I havent figured the correct usage), i.e. decimal=" " does not work.
