Guys!
Like really, is this the EVE that we love?
Look, over the years you were changing it, clearly in a "more fun" direction or that's what you thought. Let's look on the most important changes:
- jump bridge network nerf - capital jump range nerf and introduction of jump fatigue - carrier buff, then the recent nerf again
Oh yeah, it's all to bring PvP to the gates now yes?
Well where's the PvP on the gates I ask you? You know what's on the gates? Damn instawarp ceptors, bubble immune cloaky t3s and other cloaky hauler stuff - that's all you've achieved. You made people use ceptors to travel, since you even gave them immunity to bubbles - whose great idea was that anyway?! Now people have to go 10-20 jumps to get anywhere where they could get in one or two using old bridge system for example, yeah, you made the game so much better, clearly! Just the online numbers say you didn't for some reason, guess why?!!
And then you introduced t3 destros, accidentally killing the whole advanced frigate meta in the process cuz why fly Jag if you can fly svipul. You can even fit them (t3d) to instalock ceptors very easy.
You made life of capital pilots even more miserable. I'm not talking about special toons that just sit there in a mom. You ever thought about the consequences for the rest of us?
ONLINE NUMBERS DROP EVERY YEAR, what more proof you want? EVE without those changes had 50k+ online on any day of the week. Now it's half of that on weekends OMG, weekends, Karl!
On the other hand Fozzie sov is okay. Jump fatigue alone is okay, but goddam jump range nerf is crazy stupid. What for? To make people make more cyno alts and waste more ozone?!!! WHAT FOR if you already deny long trips with the fatigue mechanic?!!!!!!! OMG it's so frustrating.
Before all those changes we had more people in nullsec, more carebears, more pvp, we had drops on bridges, sabres and bombers camping em - it was fun! Drops and counter drops, and we had gate pvp TOO, don't you remember? Not like you have lots of it now lol. Nullsec was more alive, lowsec was alive, damn there were just that many more people in the game, twice more. Now you have 20k online and half of that are second window, don't you understand? You're killing the game. Especially the jump range nerf. It's super-duper useless and atrocious. It's time to revert it. Leave the fatigue.
Duh, probably it'll all fall on deaf ears as so many threads before this one, go on, continue killing your game. Troll me all you want, I wanted to speak out cause I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take this anymore. |

Yeah make a good point, even if you post on a forum alt employement history: University of Caille 2011.01.27 18:40 to this day
Eve online is :
A) mining simulator B) glorified chatroom C) spreadsheets online
D) CCP Games Pay to Win at skill leveling, with instant gratification

What does it matter what character he uses?
His points are valid and posting with his main would make them no more valid than they are now.
By him posting with his alt you guys can't be arseholes and grief the ever living hell out of his main and corp/alliance.
I post with an alt and proud of it! Don't like it, move along!
Your mentality and that of others with the same as yours is what is killing player participation in EVE.
Take a great game and grief it's player base to hell with stupid petty little dumbass comments like
Ah I see you didn't post with your main. Pisss off! |

Yeah. Right on brother ! So much better when we could set up a lazy gate camp with bubbles and instablapping ships that would zap anyone stupid enough to think they could travel out of highsec into the wider universe. Course nothing much would often happen but we could down a few beers , talk s*** in fleet and watch Netflix while waiting. Bring back muh old EVE ! |

The Phoebe travel changes have been phenomenally effective at delivering their intended result. The results were evident withing a few days of their being announced, never mind introduced.
I'm sorry you don't like facts, but they they are.

I can confirm that the capital jump changes back then (Introduction of jump fatigue mainly) improved the game for every lowsec alliance immensely. I was in easily excited back then and before this change we could hardly deploy more than one carrier in a fight without cynos lighting up all over the place and PL dropping from the other side of the universe.
After that it made fights more focused on the local groups. You could still batphone larger groups but you had to arrange that beforehand and plan accordingly to get them in place within one jump of where the fight would happen. We killed an SYJ Titan with the help of NC that way, because SYJ didn't know that they were staged within jump range. That Titan and the related supercapital fleet would definitely not have been commited to a fight on a gate before Phoebe. Also there was no real reason to even get supercapitals before that, as they'd just be a giant target on your back. I don't fly them personally, but it applies to smaller capitals too. I'm unsure if I would have gotten a dreadnought with the threat of NC, PL and similar groups dropping on you from 30 light years distance within a single siege cycle.
I don't know about the jump bridge nerfs and such, I don't live in nullec and never lived there in the past either. Is it just that you get fatigue from using it? That seems acceptable to me. |

Seriously, this looks to me like the cry of a hurt child. "It's not fair. I want my toys back." As others have said, why should certain exploits be permitted? Cynos have the potential to completely unbalance the game and i think that what CCP has done is a benefit to most players.
Personally I stick to hi/lo sec as I'm not into fleets and megacorps so I'd be roadkill in null but even I can see that having someone able to teleport from a distant system and blast the living daylights out of you could really spoil your day and it seems to be unfair that doing this was apparently so easy to do.
I think CCP have taken Mr. Spock's advice and seen that "The needs of the many ...." has been applied. |

They don't have to. They have the option to not surround themselves with blues for 10-20 jumps in every direction, for instance.

I'm not taking a stance either way because [citation needed]. Grab some graphs. Grab some ships-killed-by-region graphs. Grab some jumps-by-region graphs. Grab some top-killers graphs. If you're making a claim of facts, be sure to include facts. On the other hand, if you're making a point of what is and is not fun, include stories. One is not better than the other but be clear about what you are presenting. All I'm seeing is "things are different now." Astute observation, sir.
Edit: and I just realized how necro this thread is. Kinda forget that the desolate sections of the forums might not see as many posts as the normal sections. :P

I'm actually quite happy by some of the changes CCP has been doing. Like the increase in rep time and increase in rep amount by T2 logistics ships. Your usual mexican standoff used to be 2 50 man fleets with 9 or so T2 logistics cruisers and no one could ever break each other so fights were avoided. Now you can switch aggro and alpha T2 cruisers more easily than before (3.3 second rep cycles were silly) and the force multiplication is less severe. Not everything is "THE EVE UNIVERSE IS ENDING" type deal; i think EVE is in quite a good place right now.
Ps. I'm posting from my main; some of us just like being in NPC corps because they offer us the same as any old big corp or alliance can offer them :) (or we have alts to do that silliness for us)

Nobody will like me for saying this, but Cynos have been horrible for eve. They need to go or be seriously reworked, but that is going to meet a hell of a lot of inertia.
