So, I just came back after a 6 month+ break to find AZN and C9N (My old stomping grounds) are now BoB territory... and my alliance is no more?
So eh... just wondering what happened for one of the biggest alliances in the game to collapse? And what are those members doing now?
I have no interest in joining some newbie corp, and yet no decent corps seem to be recruiting for 0.0 at the moment...
So whats up?

Band of Brothers invaded and defeated ASCN. It was a fairly lopsided war and for a number of reasons ASCN collapsed and CYVOK left EvE public life. The ex-ASCN corps are spread all over the place, some are in the new regions, some are working alongside BoB, some are fighting BoB alongside a large anti-BoB coalition in a fairly massive war that is currently ongoing.

Interesting... So I am wondering when the Amarr or Caldari are gonna turn their head toward BoB. Now that would be a war.
Anyhow... any BoB corps recruiting? If they are the only real alliance out there with any power at all, I guess thats where I belong instead of mining afk in 1.0 space :(

In BoB you get minerals spawned in your hangar by devs.

If you go into your options menu, there's a difficulty slider. Put that all the way over to the easiest setting and you'll be fine. |

It all started with The Pendulum.
Many other threads about it - just search for Pendulum War.
It was pretty much over, after this.

Basically the ASCN High Command kept asking "Where's Tybalt Isenhael!? We don't know what to do! Only Tybalt can lead us to salvation!" and well, you weren't around so they crumbled.

Actually it was the other way round if I recall. ASCN tried to get the jump on BoB when they unveiled their Avatar titan and declared war on BoB. BoB brought the ****zle. ------

In before Xsiv flaming people....
BoB invaded and after a couple months ASCN fell apart.
There were lots of internal issues at the moment, especially between certain corps. After awhile, participation in ops dropped, and after CYVOK lost his titan, things really fell apart.
Eventually, IXC, CLS, VAF, TSYND, and WOT were pretty much the only corps left in ASCN, all fighting in the RIT/GHZ/5p area. After CLS volunatrily wtihdrew, IXC left ASCN and left for empire for a few weeks. Eventually CLS left ASCN without a holder corp, and the Ascendant Frontier name is now dead, never to return.
Nowadays, CoRM and ANZA, as well as a split off corp from VAF are living as BoB tenants. AWECO and D-R also were BoB tenants for awhile before allying themselves with the anti-BoB coalition.
CLS and a newly created corp with mostly ex-CLS-F members (Gekidoku) are some of the leading corps in the retaking of Feyth.
IXC, STK-S, and TSYND have formed a new alliance, Invictus, together and have moved out into the Kali regions.
Trade Consortium has pretty much disbanded, with most of their members joining STK.
VAF and TOGCO have joined TNT and are also active in the new regions.
DS1 joined Ka-Tet and operate out of the new regions.
Sha K has also disbanded and most of their members have split up between multiple PvP oriented alliances/corps.
Ars C joined Curse Alliance and after suffering from a corp thief at the hands of their CEO, have reformed under a different corp name.
LYN joined Sparta Alliance
EDF, Syncore, and WOT, I'm not sure about.

They collapsed after their war with BoB.
However that's not to say BoB is the only power left or the only worthy 0.0.
Since the fall of ASCN a great war has come called the New Eden War.
The starting of this major war was also BoB.
They had MC feint to the North. Fighting occured for a few weeks. Then MC withdrew from the North around the time BoB publicly declared that they would be assisting LV against the RedSwarm hordes.
BoB Ships were moved to help save LV1V from RedSwarm.
The North saw their moment they invaded while BoB was occupied in LV space. Capturing a few BoB systems in Fountain.
BoB moved their fleets back to their own space, leaving LV to its own devices. BoB recaptured the initial systems that fell.
LV1V falls to the RedSwarm. With it goes the LV titan underconstruction as well as the capital shipyards of LV.
D2's Titan is destroyed by a BoB spy.
AAA invades MC for a short time.
IAC, KOS, CA, OHGOD, RED, TCF and others continue pounding the remnants of ISS and LV. ISS declares they are heading to Empire, they are done for the war.
LV still holds a small amount of systems but its former glory has passed as well. They did manage to have a good battle with RED this week.
BoB has started losing more stations giving the Coalition footholds in other regions.
BoB stirred the north some by wooing YOUWHAT and COD. YOUWHAT has had to leave their home and is reported headed to MC space to reinforce there. TRI. and FLA are clearing the remaining Cloud Ring systems of YOUWHAT. Not heard much out of COD since their announcment.
Wars are also in the new areas. Ratal seems to be fighting Frege. TNT is fighting OWN3D.
It is a large war at this point, almost all the major players are at war.
BoB is supported by MC, XELAS, FIX, AXE, RISE, GONADs and a few others.
Against them is a plethora of alliances even many which were previously enemies. Their stated goal is the destruction of BoB once and for all.
Among these alliances are D2, IRON, OHGOD, RED, KOS, TCF, NASA, CA, AAA, MM, TRI., FLA, and many others.
MOst of the North, much of the east and southeast are now united in the goal of destruction of BoB. It is something everyone realises will take months, and possibly take us into next year.
I'd look up some old friends, see if they are still around and then head to hook up with them if you can.

As has been said, ASCN lost the war with BoB.
Former ASCN corps are scattered all over the place. Some fight in the current war alongside the Coalition against BoB, others alongside the allied forces of BoB against the Coalition.

The war on BoB became the great war when it got known that a dev was in BOB high commanded and cheated for months. BoB had also many t2 bpo's illegally from that dev and those bpo's remained in game for 8 more months after the dev got captured by CCP and removed from the directors position in BoB.
The whole handling of this situation and especially CCP not punishing BoB in the slightest way (while any other player captured cheating is punished) made many people upset and angry at BoB so they decided to do justice on their own and joined the war.
Leaving this important fact aside it is not possible to understand the current war. So it really must be mentioned otherwise no one would understand why so many people are fighting BoB!

Everything that has a beginning has an end. After the truth about how BoB were operating came to light, a lot of people were mighty ****ed. As it stands they are now fighting wars on multiple fronts.
That's the problem with gaining too much territory.. eventually your ability to defend that territory decreases to the point to where either you are invaded, or your "allies" splinter off because you no longer possess sufficient strength to control them.
See pretty much all of human history.

yes the cheats, the exploits and the refusal to enforce the rules on their favorite group has peeved many. Many quit.
Sadly instead of letting their $$$$ talk, some instead fell into BoDs desire to have more targets to feed their little groups fun.
This is called "enabling".
CCP enabled BoD Players enable ccp to enable BoD ...get the idea?
Stop going to BoD to fight, that only encourages them to get more favors from CCP under the cloak of secrecy and SMOKESCREEN (not to mention the famous t2 broom and rug if anyone finds out).
Remove their pew pew fun, and BoD will slowly fade away.
Choice is yours.
