Edited by: Danti Shidomu on 09/03/2007 11:14:10 Can anyone help us with this, we are a new corp with 16 members (+2 alts), and in much trouble. We are mining based for the moment so no real PVP skills exist within our corp.
We will be at war with the Merc corp The Sell Swords. They got 19 probably more or less experienced members.
We are the New Career Move, and hopefully can count on someones support to help us out. We are low on M's ISK, so hiring a merc isn't possible.
Please contact me ingame, war starts today at 17.37 ingame time.
Thanks!
Ps. some extra info: The merc corp, with whom we had some contact told us that their client says we are thieve ores. But if there was any thieve in my corp he'd be long gone. It could very well be that an unknown/new member has done this, but really i doubt if that's true. Even so i will investigate this in my own corp, and kick suspects. Name of the person who hired the merc corp is yet unknown, he is only referred to as 'client'.

Stay together for a start. Dont spread out too much or you will be easy targets. Get intel on what the enemy is flying. Dont fly anything you cant replace. If you attack, use focus fire and guerilla tactics. Hit and run.
A good carebaer move is to stay docked for the duration of the war... bores away the attackers.
Ps. Dont nerf WCS! |

You'll find there's probably no client. In a few days after getting a few kills they'll send you a demand for isk to stop the war, if you pay it, they'll just wardec you again soon as they know you are an easy target. Best you can do is to sit in station when their around, they'll get bored.

Edited by: Danti Shidomu on 09/03/2007 11:20:11 On tactics (to be used in our position) i have received allot of information. I have some experienced players whom i know, and given me allot of information on that subject.
We almost had help aswell, only that corp was at war too and almost going to merge.
And we have a shipment coming of frigates and some cruisers + weaponry. But atm, even then, we do not stand a chance. The sell swords are probably flying battlecruisers, but no scouting has been done.
Thanks for your reply anyway @ Eron Lygera.

We shall discuss this ingame. Keep in mind, we're a relative new corp, with most members having 1.1M SP max.

Edited by: Culmen on 09/03/2007 11:36:04 Well ,since you are new, a lot of lamness is forgivable
heres a collection of lame things that make empire war infuriating, and are one of the reasons we left for 0.0
1) Warp to zero Never auto pilot, watch local the moment you see somebody, warp to a station, dock, and dont leave till they do or if you really need to go somewhere, warp to zero on a gate
2)Jump clones if you get stuck in station, jump clone out, assured in the knowledge that your opponents are cursing and swearing (trust me, ive learned curse words in several languages this way)
3)Warp Core Stabalizers more then 4 WCS II + empire space = invulnerability with warp to zero and no bubbles, you are more or less guarnteed survival, unless your ships are really that slow and fragile that they insta pop it sure you wont be able to target anything fast, but those veld moons arent going anywhere
4) stay out of Jita it just sucks, heck i dont go there even if there are no war targets
so in short empire wars are infuriatingly stupid to fight, this group obviously hasnt been told Remember, it isnt ball-less abject yellow bellied cowardice, if you have no chance of winning _____________________________________________________

Don't pay any ransom it will just make you a target as the others say.
Using cheap t1 frigates and cruisers is a good idea.
They gave you some good suggestions above, might be a good time to train some of those long training time skills.
You probably can't jump clone though. Find out what time the mercs are on see if you can game at a different time. That is always fun to.
Try to make the game boring for the mercs and hopefully they move on after a week.

Hey man
Dont panic. Use this opportunity to learn the ropes and become closer as a corp.
Stay together at all times. Dont travel alone. Park ur haulers and miner ships. Buy some T1 frigs and have some fun. Keep ur clones updated. If u see 1 wartarget in local, expect there to be more around the corner. Stay out of web range etc.
When u get ur first kill, u will get that warm fuzzy feeling in ur stomach If ur low on resources, i bet someone can help u out with some T1 frigs. If not, contact me over the weekend and ill hand u some
Dont pvp in what u cannot afford to lose. Thats a general rule. Fight them, dont give after to their demands and u can go out with ur neck raised high. No matter the outcome.
No need to pay for mercs.
Good luck

Thx Cardinal,
That is our attitude atm indeed, even before i posted here. But still, help is quite welcome. :) But its definately clear to me know that every corp should be able to defend itself, because every corp has the risk of getting a war dec.
Good lesson, good lesson. About the frigs, a friend of mine is bringing in a shipment of frigs with weaponry, don't know by when it'll arrive. But i'm pretty sure i can trust him on it :).
Thanks allot people for helping me out, not just gunpower backup is help, responding in this thread like you all do now is help too. :D

Another option:
Hiring the Privateers.
Imo a very cheap alternative to a merc corp. You only have to pay the wardec (approx. 50mio) and we are in business. We will not search them but we are quite numerous in empire and always happy to see more wartargets surrounding us.
cheers heidi

Good Grief
BEST thing you can do for your corp is as follows: Make sure ALL your members have at least 3-4 or even more fully combat ready frigates fully armed and ready to go in your home station. Update all your clones and set em to a convenient nearby point.
When an enemy appears in local dock your mining ships and everyone get into a frigate.
Then start having some fun.
It does not matter if anyone is killed or podded because the ships you just lost are very cheap.
You might just be able to kill an expensive enemy ship in the process.
If you die get a new frigate and keep coming back.
MOST IMPORTANT: It does NOT matter if you die. You are self proclaimed low sp miners and carebears. The enemy might smacktalk you in local but what does that make them: Someone who was able to kill a low sp carebear in a t1 frigate. But if YOU get a kill or two then they become: Someone who was KILLED by a low sp carebear in a t1 frigate.
There is simply no way you can possibly lose on this deal, just remember to all attack the same target at the same time, get it webbed scrambled jammmed dampned...and destroyed. Your own losses are not important, think of it as a challenge and yor corp will come out of it with a great sense of team bonding(even if you never kill anything)
Enjoy yourselves.

Our corp (well lets face it this is my second account my main is canceled)....
However we where wardecced by a piratecorp (well think actually it was BoB members or something like that).
However what we did discover was that about HALF of the memberbase of that corp could not enter high sec. The other half we tried to fight in high sec, where we lost due to our noobness 2 battleships but still we had some fun. One battleship was killed in low sec when attacked by a BoB carrier, the other was killed in high sec due to lack of communication between us.
What people have written up here is pretty much what you can do, eventually that war will go away... I seriously doubt they will do much to actually try and hunt you guys down if they don't happen to stumble upon you.
Also try and find members of their corp and see what sec. status they got, there is a chance they have too low sec.status to enter high sec witch will reduce the number you have to fight.

Look, if you want to remain carebears, don't fight back! Really, it's extremely important not to fight back.
You'll end up getting a taste for PvP and you won't want to go back to carebearing!
Just look at me, I used to be a purehearted carebear that was happy enough to mine kernite in obscure low-sec systems, then I started pew-pewing in my merlin and now I'm a darn director in a merc alliance!
Seriously though, go out and kick some ass. Contact me in-game and I'll sort you out with cash for a few T1 frigs. :)
Heck, I'll even offer you cash for every kill you get on one of your wartargets. Just forward the killmail to me.

Lmao no my goals for this corp are somewhat larger then carebearing so this is a good exercise.
And ships are on the way i think. So other then the still huge lack of firepower, we're set. :P.

Stock up on Rifters with tackling gear and every time they come out to fight, swarm the biggest ship you can like angry hornets. Rifters are cheapy cheap and can be outfitted for very little. As soon as your fleet of 10 frigates outfitted for under a million ISK each blows up one of their big ships, they will reconsider fast. It's the ultimate form of counter-griefing that a small corp can do, fly super-cheap so the enemy gets no monetary gain. Every ship they lose will be a much bigger hit in their wallet than it will be for you to lose one.

u dont have 50mil for protection. u dont have skills to protect yourself. u'r basiclly crying for help. and you are basiclly noone.
if these war deccers are mercenaries as you say. i wonder who hired em on you and why whould the contractor even be interested in deccing you if you are not a threat?
step out of the closet, defend yourself or hire someone else todo it. 50/16 is 3 mil for each member. easy math.
