You would probably do better in a Drake. Maybe see if 6 Arbalest launchers fit. (you just won't be able to use Fury) Without being able to really apply the damage, then you most likely will struggle in a L4. If you get jammed and scrammed, you could be in trouble. (That's the only situation I would recommend a MJD for a L4 rookie to GTFO and save his ship) If you have low skills, maybe it's just too soon for you to fly a Raven. -Kirst Always remember Tovil-Toba, and what was done there.

So you always want to fit maximum available launchers on the Raven. The CPU rig is worth investing in if you're having fitting trouble: else, you can plug in an EE-603, which are reasonably cheap and should solve your CPU issues. At least 500 DPS and a tank of about the same is the benchmark you can set for your fit. The higher your DPS, the better, but you don't want to dip below 500 DPS. If you're below, train up your skills. It isn't that you can't run L4s with, say, 400 DPS, but with that kind of damage output you'll end up taking far too long to complete an L4 mission; you'd earn more blitzing L3s.

Alucard Katelo State War Academy Caldari State 0	Posted - 2016.08.10 16:46:24 - [37] - Quote Hi All Thanks for the replys. @Ion Kirst / Kairavi Mrithyakara Thanks for taking the time to explain your answers it is appreciated as to the ifs and whys. 6 Arbalest launchers fit fine without any issues, have plenty CPU left over 39 but trying to fit the 6 T2s I am short of 50, apart from that I have done 4 or 5 level 4s now and well its ok, although in drone missions some of the faster drones I have issues with as it takes quite a few volleys to kill them so wasting missiles, I did try using Hammerheads as I have just finished the skills for them but the drones ate them up pretty quickly. Edit:: Just checked my fitting, according to Ship Fitting my DPS is 645.5 DPS Now I have no doubt its my lack of Drone management and experience that lost me my drones, using the wrong drones against wrong type of ship ect as I haven't really used drones. As for CPU and fitting most of my skills are at 4, as I concentrated on getting shields and CPU / Engineering to 4 before working on missiles ect What are the important skills for CPU for fitting wise? Now you are probably right, I should not be flying a Raven just yet or probably be doing Level 4s Cheers Alucard

And maybe you knew this but . . . Each mission has different Factions. Some are Sansha, Guristas, Angel, Serpentis, Gallenti, or Blood Raiders, etc. For each mission you should use mission specific missiles, shield mods, and drones, against those factions. IE: The Sansha The Sansha deal EM and Therm damage. So I would put: 1 x EM Ward Field II, 1x Thermic Dissipation Field II, and 1x EM Ward Amplifier II. (along with the XL SB and SB amp.) I would use Caldari Mjolnir Cruise missiles (on your Arbalest launchers) (more expensive and more dps, but worth it.) I would use Acolyte T2 Drones. Just one more example: The Gurista Gurista deal Kinetic and Thermal damage. so, 1x Kinetic Deflection Field II, 1x Thermic Dissipation Field II, and 1x Kinetic Deflection Amplifier II. I would use Caldari Scourge Cruise Missiles, and T2 Hornets. This way you protect yourself against their incoming, and you hit them where they are vulnerable. Some guys use auto targeting missiles if you get jammed, but their dps sucks. I used them once, I'm content to just wait for the jams to end, and then blow them away. But for some, they may be better than nothing. -Kirst Always remember Tovil-Toba, and what was done there.

That's T2 Launchers, Fury, and 4x Caldari BCUs. (and my implants.) Using EFT, without implants, all skills at L5, the same set up puts out 946 dps. Using EFT, and switching to 4x T2 BCUs, the dps drops to 888, but there's fitting issues. (might have to used named mods instead of T2s.) Using EFT, and using Arbalest launchers, Caldari missiles, and 4 Caldari BCUs, the dps again drops to 700. Using EFT, Arbalest launchers, Caldari missiles, and 4 T2 BCUs the dps drops again to 656. I think this is about where you dps is at. So with some adjustments, and focused skills, your not that far away. -Kirst Always remember Tovil-Toba, and what was done there.

I know skill training comes first but if using Named mods and implants will give me a little boost its something to look into. I am also wondering if I change from T2 BCUs to Caldari Navy BCUs although expensive I wonder if I will get enough reduction in CPU to fit all T2 Cruise launchers. Well, now in Maelstrom it isn't imposible but it takes a lot of time because of speed of this ship. Autocanons do a lot of damage but it is imposible to get at aceptable range and tank all the damage ( 4 - 20 km) - it's alway - poor DPS or poor tank or capa not even close to stable (lasts 1m 45 s). Now when I search the Internet for info it's turning out that solo L4 missions are possible to do only in expensive Faction/Pirate versions of T1 BS or in T2 (more expensive + skill demanding).

If you have another weapon system trained it might be worth looking at options in that area too

Putting modules on the ship that cost more than it would cost to suicide gank you potentially makes you a target. I'm not telling you not to do it as the efficiency gained it hardly insignificant, just don't announce it and be aware you may be a profitable target. Also consider only using two, as the diminishing returns of the third and forth don't really justify the cost, especially as those two can be the difference between whether or not you are profitable to gank.
