Of course the corp could also just encourage it's members to get to 8.0 standing with the NPC corp by themselves (where connections does count) ... and then the people that wanted jump clones could have them, they'd just have to work for them.
You don't NEED a corp rating of 8.0, just a personal one .... unlike having a high-sec POS where it has to be corp rating *grumble*grumble*

It's great, No NPC groups like me much but i've got jumpclones ^^ Hooray for being able to ride on the back of other people's work
Seriously though, you know... you don't get jumpclones and suddenly win the game or something.. they just help you move (or if you're some sort of ***** let you protect implants)

Screw them. Any corp that A) would kick you out over something like this and B) is dumb enough to embark on getting 8.0 NPC corp standings with over 100 members isn't worth being in. --------

CCP recently changed it where you dont need Corp AND personal standing, just one or the other. If someone in the corp has a 8.0 personal standing but the corp doesnt, that person can still get jump clones.
So tell them to go try once they get over 8.0, and then you pay me 1 billion isk!

more accurately: - if you have 8.0 standing towards an npc corp that has cloning facilities YOU can install jump clones in those stations - if your corp has an average 8.0 standing towards an npc corp that has cloning facilities EVERY MEMBER in the corp can install jump clones in those stations EVEN though they do not have 8.0 standings themselves.
noteworthy item, corp average standings does not include social skills but trying to install jump clones from personal standings does include social skills.
so, tell your silly ceos that they are wrong, they are playing by old game mechanics. . |

If this is a corp that will kick members for not having 8.0 standings with some empire, this is a corp you do not want to be in.
They're asshats. Move on and find a better corp. ------------------------- Sigs are for noobs. |

We have the same rules.
We have an 8.0 standing with several NPC corps, and we have access to cloning facilities at stations that belong to alliances that are friends with us.
But, the rule with the NPC standings are... you run missions for them, shoot them, or do anything to degrade the standings = kick.
REGARDLESS of the fact we can install clones in stations belonging to alliance friends or not.
I understand the rule, so .... he has to quit.

CCP encouraging alts and alt corps - whats new? Empire POS are especially fun ... sounds really impossible to get until you realize that you only need to grind the standings on one alt.
Anyway, ISS used to offer jumpclone services, and it looks like d2 made them aviable as well. Get them one jump from Torrinos, move them to desired locations, never look back. I dont know a way to lose jumpclones, so the only reason to get NPC standings is that you are in a corp full of slave / snake addicts who are afraid to get killed on first run into ec-.

Edited by: Shameless Avenger on 13/03/2007 20:36:44 That's a bad move from the corp's side. And an unecesary one too. I'm sure somebody on that corp already has the 8.0 with somebody. All they needed to do is this:
1) The guy with 8.0+ makes an alt corp. 2) Make one storyline and wait for corp standings to rise. 3) Anybody interested in a jumpclone, join alt corp and create jump-clone(s) before down-time. 4) Pilots get back to main corp. |

Edited by: Soporo on 13/03/2007 20:40:28 Out of curiosity, what is the corps big focus, whats their thang? Are they somehow trying to get ready for Factional Warfare, or lowsec missioning or rp'ers or what?

This is why missions should be removed from the game.
Or at least uncoupled from standings.
I mean, ffs, CCP try to say this is a PvP focused game and yet for any number of people to get direct access to these services requires them *all* to go through a huge grind in the most non-PvP part of the game.
I must bookmark this thread so the next time mission runners say we should just leave them in peace as their gameplay doesn't affect anyone else, I can point them to it. -
If you go into your options menu, there's a difficulty slider. Put that all the way over to the easiest setting and you'll be fine. |
