- youwhat will, due to d2 commitment and various merc contracts, go downhill fast, relocate to safe space and restrict themselves to raiding the soft rear of the d2 frontline - smash/rk will claim victory over ra by putting 2 towers somewhere into reinforced when ra wasnt home - bob/mc will stop using capitalships alone and will be forced to focus deployment again, due to their "slap in the face" experiences (bob in c3, mc: waagaa in the north where his aeon got shot to 52% armor, also the 2 carrierlosses, all just because of they were used*****y) - the "white flag" corps and alliances that feyth/esoteria/paragon will try to save their jewels and work out new deals. i conclude this since large scale liquidation of low value assets has already begun, including combat assets (dictors for under 5m, what a bargain, thank you for funding your agressors!) this behaviour can largely be attributed to their inherent character, being space renters and not space takers, if they had any ability to take or hold space, they would not go rent it. - as the combat approaches bob homespace, bob pilots are having less exhausting traveling to do, also, fuel jumping costs for the bob capitalfleets is going down alot, outweighting the loss of rental from slaves by far - various corps and alliances will bail from the war, especially those who thought fighting bob would work without having losses and sacrifice on your part - d2 in the north will destroy xelas since bob will be busy down south trying to get capitalshipkills versus RA/AAA/OHGOD, since that certainly ranks highest on the "who can force us to get insurance payouts" list. -mc, being deployed versus d2 in fountain will lose 1-2 motherships due to*****y behaviour on euro tz, forums go "told ya"
then, scenario a: every anti-bob alliance/corp has planned well, they should be able to deploy around bobspace for 1 year. once bob is forced to fight from npc stations AND lose more than 50 capitals per month for a prolonged time, first light at the tunnel can be seen.
scenario b: highly naive corpdirectors and fleetcommaders assumed it would be an easy ride, not saving up for months of war, the war is over after some genius made some big mistake in a capital ship deployment, bob spy puts dictor bubble over coalition fleet, bob kill 60 dreads/capitals, laugh, win, collect rent from "new" lv

Their last action was a few days ago, when they sieged 2 pos's, only to find 3 days stront in each, and as the medium pos dropped into re-enforced, they all ran and hid to avoid a fight;
eg, D2 arn't deploying capitals without superior numbers in every way shape and form by a 2:1 ratio. If this ratio isn't met, they log off.
I can't say I'm impressed.

He never said anything about being major players in his post, and in comparison to a lot of other posts today, he had the spine to post with his main. Something which has become kinda rare these days.
He's also giving 2 different scenarios where either BoB or the ebil coalition wins. NO post in this section is unbiased...like, you won't find a post from me supporting BoB But nothing should stop people who participate (!!!) in the war, aka not lame alts, to talk about what might or might not happen.
At least he's not posting with a 1-man corp alt with a BoB signature _______________________________________________

I'm sure you'd like that to be true, but a quick glance shows that we are ganking around 15 ships a day from Xelas alone around YZ- PNQ area daily.
In fact ..you lost a ship on sunday to one of our roaming gangs. It was a good fight btw And on that occasion...you outnumbered us 40-17.

Sound rediculous. Actually if I was pushed back to npc space and wanted to go on, I'd surely not take the capitals out week after week to try to conquer the same systems back again with bruteforce that I have already lost before and keep on losing capitals as long as the full coalition is at the door step.
I'd attack the coalition, when and where they don't expect it and try to keep losses low. I'd try to break the morale of the coalition by not giving them any new successes and boring their blobs to death, until some leave and then strike again.

Edited by: Rui Nosferatu on 13/03/2007 12:19:24 My general predictions are that the south will continue its intense bloody fighting that has raged for quite a while. Everyone will loose lots of ships in lean mean pvp. The attrition rate of capital ships will be hideous. Logistics, industrial capacity and fat wallets will keep some alliances going to pursue strategic goals. And the will to get up again and carry on fighting after loosing systems.
And in the north a farmer's prize pig will give birth to a dozen fine piglets that will have names like Sam, Jezebel and Miningwillwinwars.

the number of capitalosses was just a wild number thrown around to emphasize that it will be a long walk to walk before bob corp/alliance is going to break a sweat iskwise over losses. a loooooong walk. your scenario is actually an alternation of the bob loss outcome. if bob is no longer the cool top dog in the game, a decent number of their "skilled pvp footsoldier" troops will consider this as a loss in ther e-peen contest. bob will either win or die, if bob as alliance has to resort to guerilla warfare it has sealed its own fate, they can only win in the offensive, even if that could accelerate their demise.

It's pretty much bugger all for an entire region in a day. And don't forget, Xelas has some strong friends fighting along side them now - (us of course) .
Our roving gang yesterday destroyed more than 15 ships I would say in the 3 hours it was going around.
I would suggest you guys greatly strengthen your gatecamps up or else they are just going to keep getting demolished by us everyday.
Like I said in another thread, if you guys don't step it up a notch we may have to move our base of operations to the outer ring so we don't have to go 25+ jumps north of Fountain before we find any hostiles numbering more than 5-8. Heh.
And this is my personal opinion of course, I'm not speaking for the alliance. |

Oh really ..
Then I guess that 7 kill for 0 loss spanking we layed on fatal in c-n yesterday was a figment of our imagination .. or maybe it was deja vu of the 17 kill for 3 loss we experienced in G95 the day before? I'm not flaming, I'm trying to, ermm, get you guys motivated so that I can get some more kills in game or atleast good fights . No hard feelings.
Out of all the other hostile alliances to us in and around Fountain you guys are definately the most willing to fight. I must give you props for that. When we get reports of a hostile gang around we always hope it is D2.

BTW - Freelancer / D2 / Sparta / Friends - Thanks for the great fights past 2 or 3 weeks. Between the 30-50 man frig / bc squads vs my carrier, to the past 4 days of roaming in the North, I cant recall a time with so many kills / deaths and fun.

I believe you are correct, sir!
Maybe I'm just naive, but I'm getting pretty tired of being able to tell what someone will say before reading their post because of the alliance ticker.
And the OP here, I think he's right about Outcome A or B, it'll go down like one of those two scenarios. If you flame me for being anti Band of people flying ships named [DEVS], because one of those outcomes is they lose, then look at the other option, which is they win.

You don't get it right? Its not about being a big loss , iys about BOB loosign a considerable capital battle while inflicting minimal damage to teh other side. That goea nto well with the" we a re the superior elite player" posture they try to impose. That is why people take this as a serious victory. ( dreads are not a heavy asset hit on any of the superpowers.

They are virtual toys in a pretend spacepaceship video game .. we are playing with them and having a lot of laughs and fun. If I worried about the future every time I got a ship to 52% armor I'd never undock! Waagaa was only so stressed because he'd have to ask Seleene for the isk to buy the minerals to replace it!
Its a game, and this war is the best thing that's happened to EVE since I've been playing. I predict we're all going to be depressed when it ends and refer back to it nostalgically for as long as the servers are up.

To be honest the most interesting part of BoB losing 9 capital ships was the way it happened. Lets consider how BoB usually kill capital fleets and how this happened (my comments are based on what I read on killboards noton first hand knowledge):
++ When BoB attack a capital fleet they usually do it with a large fleet consisting mainly of Battleships (rarely do they take capitals into these battles unless there is a Titan involved)
++ The event yesterday was 9 BoB capitals against around 30 RA/AAA/Goon Capitals (based on other reports).
My view on the facts as I know them is - BoB did amazingly well against 30 capitals (which included a Mothership and a Titan) don;t forget they took out 2 of those 30 capitals for a net loss of 7 capitals. Pretty impressive tbh.

The only thing for sure - more pew pew!
"War Its Fantastic" - and in Fountain, Cloud Ring and slightly further a field the war is being fought with very very little smack and alot of respect.
To those who say people only fight in 2:1 ratio's I just wish we had the 2 - until then... Its still a fight!
Game is still on, and I think only pawns have been lost so far (no disrespect to anyone), and even if I did have ISK left, I wouldn't bet on who the winner will be! But I'll bet I'll still be fighting come 2008, then I JUST HAVE TO RAT!!!!

You don't know the half of it, mate. He trained mining drones V so he could launch 25 T2 mining drones to increase the output of the Aeon when tanking with it on mining ops. If one could put rigs on a mothership, guess which one he'd go for!

Edited by: Asero on 13/03/2007 15:03:13 Alright. Here are.... "Realistic" predictions.
- North West Front. D2 will hammer on YouWhat for another several weeks to take XZH. Unreinforced from fountain forces, YouWhat will eventually be beaten back, but without a force to supplement them. (live in their stations) Holding their space will be difficult. This process will take 2-3 weeks at best, longer depending on how much of the BOB fountain forces move up to assist YouWhat.
- North Front. Venal, Branch, Tribute, Deklien, etc. lots of evil rats will die, and the belts will be emptied.
- North East Front. Mc is attacking (Pure?) and will probably put enough pressure on them to force PURE out of the Querious coalition to defend their territory. MC without assistance will be unable to defeat Pure on their territory. The Capital stuff listed before seemed like smack so i'll ignore it.
- East Front. SmaskKill will defend their territory versus the Reds with success for several weeks. It will be a general stalemate situation. Unless Goons or TCF gets involved no progress will be made. Since Goons have shown an interesting amount of honor in the whole dispute thus far i doubt they will.
- East/South Front. Last LV station will fall within a week. LV will hemmorage a few more corps, and then regroup in NPC and empire space. Goons and TCF will consolidate their territorial gains and build their wallets for a few weeks before becomeing heavily involved in the Southern Front. Curse will likely loose another corp or two before it hardens up and becomes a smaller yet more dedicated alliance.
- South Front. BOB will likely loose another station or two. There are two many x-ascn stations and x-ascn alliances down there for BOB to hold them all effectively. especially considering the lax sov holding measures that have been taken thus far. This will likely emerge as the pre-eminant battlefield of the war. BOB will likely not loose anything in Paragon Soul or the southern feyth were the (corm?) alliance still holds strong, but northern feyth is anyones guess.
South Western Front - The northern coalition and pandemic legion will continue to raid and plunder BOB's sovereign space, hurting them to the maximum degree that raids can. If the northern coalition goes into sov attack against FIX, BOB or MC will likely be rerouted to assist. FIX, will continue to hold out well as long as the fighting stay out of the capital ground.
West. Fountain, Delve and Period Basis are all being raided but will likely see no conflicts.

QFT! Maarud obviously is'nt too bright and seem to totally fail to see the consequnses of loosing a capital ship battle in this way. Now BOB knows their capitals can and most likely will be killed whenever they try to siege systems in regions close to AAA and RA.

I and some RZR/MM/friends enjoyed a pretty good fight with a Xelas gang in UHKL-N last week (over midnight on 9th/10th) they certainly didn't run (~30 ships on either side), the battle seemed to go on for ages and was quite exhilarating. I do believe one Xelas ship survived and we lost 3 (according to full battle report on Razor killboard) but that's not the point.. I'm fairly sure all ~60 pilots there had a lot of fun for those relatively lag-free 20mins or so.
That's the kind of fight I play Eve for.

And when did you last put one of your Motherships or your Titan into the thick of a fight where it went into armour? Your virtual spaceships spend more time virtually logged out waiting for the right moment to logonski or cyno in for a gank, than actually shooting stuff. Seems such a pity to spend so much time training a character and then have it sitting at the logon screen.
One thing I can certainly predict .. there is zero risk of AAA losing a mothership or titan in combat.

MC - STFU.
ET - This will be my only comment on this: You say you wanted a straight up fight, yet you put a few of our POS into reinforced to draw us home. When the time came, you showed up to see over 30 capital ships waiting on you to hit the big red siege button with more arriving every hour. You wanted a fun fight but we had no other priorities than to simply stand our ground. We did so.
No apologies that you did not get the fight you wanted or hoped for. You didn't win. You didn't lose. It was a stand-off, you eventually got bored and left. Either way, safe travels. o/ -

It's not Xelas' fault that you can't ask for a roaming gang to join in their intelligence channels. I've been snooping on them for a couple weeks, and it seems there's always at least 2 gangs roaming through fountain at all times.
There's even been Frig gank squads running up as far as Venal. You just need to be vocal and ask to be included.
(and can someone translate Opium's post so that it's actually legible, please?)

snooping on them in inteligence channels and actually being in the alliance are two different things. These small gangs you refer to are normally made up of the same 5-6 people who do all the effort and pvp. Our alliance has normal active size of around 70-80 online, 5-6 isnt acceptable. I am not trying to sound negative but it is the reality of the situation. Hopefully reading through all this will help us get our act together.

Well this thread has drifted away from the OP...and thats a good thing, even from my biased view...I found it somewhat...er ..biased.
To the bickering in thread: We all accuse each other of docking when outnumbered or running from a bigger gang, well tbh, its not a bad idea I do laugh when people say you had balls to jump in and fight, when in reality the scout totally messed up and counted command ships as cruisers and forgot to add BS to his overview. Half the time we camp people in station, they are not even there...they probably watching a movie, or out having a beer somewhere...while we orbit bubbles feeling uber
When I log in..I log in to fight, personaly I love this war Fights everywhere, what more could you ask for.
And yes Proxay, you did put the eagle in structure, he was on fire when he warped out. As for your cheap ships, yeah they were T1 frig cruisers (2 flycatcher died btw ) but they were very nicely fitted. Every tin I opened had those lovely T2 minie guns T2 gyrostabs etc yummy. Better fitted than most frig swarms, so respect to your pilots. Anyway..long post later...I hope our enemies are enjoying the combat as much as us o7

I could be misunderstanding this but if your saying the scout and the loss of the flycatchers and almost killed eagle is the same battle you are mistaken bad. We knew what you had on the other side 100%. We were in your space for 4hrs, killing some, running from others (yes I admit I am not afraid to run when outgunned and stuff). We found your camp, i decided screw it, why not. Jumped in popped your drake a few smaller ships, we lost a lot more, including my flycatcher. I had fun, was worth it and would do it again 5 times. And this is just 1 of 4 gangs I have lead into your space. Total damage (which tbh really dont effect d2) was over 8bil isk this weekend we caused with t2 frigs. We killed one Nano Phoon worth well over 1bil isk, killed 1 hulk, and then multiple other ships. Does this mean we are uber, heck no. But we had FUN.

If you don't like it, leave. There's nothing keeping you in your perceived situation. Perhaps if you paid more attention, you'd know that there are more than 5 Xelas in those groups. You really need to stop posting on the Eve-O forums about this stuff before you find yourself out of your Corporation for posting this stuff here. If you don't know the alliance forums, I'm sure someone in your alliance channel can point you in the right direction.

My view on the facts as I know them is - BoB did amazingly well against 30 capitals (which included a Mothership and a Titan) don;t forget they took out 2 of those 30 capitals for a net loss of 7 capitals. Pretty impressive tbh.
I have to burst your little bubble. They've lost 9 faction (some say officer) fitted dreads and destroyed 2 ordinaryly fitted ones. Some might even estimate their loss at 45 bil, but lets turn it down to 30 bil, making like 3.3 bil per dread . RA/-A- lost 2 dreads worth lets say 2.5 bil each.
So, the efficiency is 5/30 = 16,6%, pretty low.
So, yeah, war is about managing your ressources right, doing a lot of damage for minimal losses and that's what BoB does too and they usually chest beat themselves with that (hence their toll of BS destroyed and lost on their KB), but BoB screwed this time, square and fare, no need to turn it any other way around.
They got trapped and had no choice than to take with them as many as they could.

I take offence to that as a Bob pet we've already takin a station so nah :P and i havnt seen nor heard any moves to pull out or liquidating assets where in for the long haul just like ragoon and bob

4-5 may have been a slight underexageration, but it isnt far from the truth. It is a small handful out of 700+ pilots who do all the work. And the reason i do not leave is because my friends are in this alliance and i like the area, i post these things so they will do something about it. Posting what i have to say on the internal forums would either get my banned or make bad blood towards my corp by the rest of the alliance and they still would not listen as others have done this already. A large amount of my fellow alliance members who have seen my post agree with it. Also, to those that laughed at the idea of Xelas having 2 dreads.. show me an example of a time when we have fielded any in a significant number. In reality it is actually less than this because the alliance simply does not field them anymore, only carriers. The alliance has quite a few dread pilots but very few with actual dreadnaught ships to use and these are individual owned. There is no alliance capital fleet and barely any system at all for organising those who do have them.

That is the whole point
Do you think that when local jumped by 40 and we are suddenly stuck in a dictor bubble our hearts did not race
Was great, but I had an even sweeter battle in Jan with a few good pilots today, that really made me sweat
Was best little gang fight this year I have been in, and the little gank engagements that we have, may not change the outcome of the war, but my god it's fun
And Death, we just played with your carrier in PNQ, I know you said a few things in local, but no-one in our gang responded ( someone else said a couple of really smacky things..but he logged when fighting started so he dont count ). This is fun, and I bet you had a little rush yourself docking that thing when it was falling apart
Leave the smack to the smacktards. See you soon mate

Not to hurt your feelings but um ya know 15 ships a day is nothing.
Quite a feat to get 15 kills a day off Xelas when they love to logoff/dock/play hide the sausage in a pos.

Their last action was a few days ago, when they sieged 2 pos's, only to find 3 days stront in each, and as the medium pos dropped into re-enforced, they all ran and hid to avoid a fight;
eg, D2 arn't deploying capitals without superior numbers in every way shape and form by a 2:1 ratio. If this ratio isn't met, they log off.
I can't say I'm impressed.
Those POS's have now been destroyed within 20 mins of coming out of reinforced. Your 60 man fleet was 3 jumps away, then turned tail and ran.
I can't say I'm impressed.

Umm AAA was fit just like BoB's were. They did damn good considering they were long range fit, AAA/RA was close range.
BoB screwed up huge, they didn't go in attack formation with the dreads around the POS like you would normally see fromt them. If they had they probably would have done ALOT more damage if not won due to RA/AAA with close range fit not being able to move to the next target.
You are also forgetting the fact that 3 dreads can probably insta pop another dread or get damn close to it were 9 cannot, if you lose 3 by the time you kill 1 you will have a lot less damage and take much longer to kill the next where RA/AAA losing a few would not affect their damage output in a major way.
