This is really odd. In the original description of the new tactical menu they mentioned that they were going to also make it so you can see your tracking of your guns via hovering over the module, which I have suggested numerous times.
However, somewhere along the way it stopped being listed as part of that bundle. I don't know where it went but at this point I am waiting to see what does and doesn't get announced by Vegas for the November release before I decide what drums still need to be banged on.
All that said I agree, your ships capabilities, including your chances to hit your enemy, should be clear to allow for better piloting, and more informed decisions.

+1 with OP weapon accuracy score hasn t solved anything, it was designed for ...and made the things akward and harder to apprehend than before |

My proposal :
Divide WAS by 40, give it the appropriate unit : rad.s^-1 .km^-1
Now it corresponds to angular velocity for a 1km signature radius target (quite common, unlike 40km), correct accordingly to the sig radius of your current target .
This "factor 40" is what makes it too far removed from having a relevant unit and being easy to compute. |

On the one hand, I was kind of bummed when CCP switched to WAS for turrets. No longer could a pilot easily correlate a single overview column with a weapon stat and have a decent idea of whether their shots were likely to do any damage.
On the other hand, turrets are now in the same boat as missiles in this regard, so at least CCP is being consistent....

That weapon score is measuered in Fahrenheit/cubicseconds or so. Makes it surely easier to know if you might hit or not. |

to confusing
so i switched to missiles which are easy to understand
1. sig radius of enemy 2. speed of enemy
and poof, you know the dmg

Yeah, I loath this stupid change. Add the worthless WAS to the game, and we can ignore it. Remove ACTUAL tracking speed from the game? Are you f'ing kidding me? Another "look! we have 100% adoption rates!" change to pad the resume of a dev who wants to find a better job. Not the first time stupid crap like this happens, and it's too much to hope it'll be the last.

Weapon score is directly related to "actual tracking speed". It is not arbitrary.
Weapon score = radians second * 1000 for a base 40m sig target.
You still have to adjust for your targets sig relative to your guns base sig, just now all guns have base sig 40 instead of varying. |

So you're saying the REAL stat on the weapon is readily available and not hidden within the game and still directly comparable to the other REAL information that is given in the overview? Oh geeze, do I feel dumb. A weasel is directly related to a bear, but you don't see me slapping a saddle on a weasel and riding it to church.

Yes I am saying the real stat is readily available. Weapon score literally is your tracking speed in rad/s based on a weapon signature res of 40,000.
In the old days you would:
Look at your weapons tracking speed, look at your overview angular velocity, make a single mathical calculation to adjust for ratio of weapon signature vs target signature
Now you must:
Look at your weapons accuracy score, look at your overview angular velocity, make a single mathematical calculation to adjust for ratio of weapon signature vs target signature.
The only difference is now all weapons have the same signature so its simpler to compare between weapons of different sizes. |
