Many of you have seen our recent news update revealing the celebratory rewards we're sending to subscribers over the next few months.

The original update included this cryptic text:


Today we're ready to begin gathering feedback on this new ship that will be handed out as part of the celebration!

The Sunesis is a new destroyer from the Society of Conscious Thought.
Like its big brother the Gnosis, the Sunesis does not require advanced skill training to fly and gets all its bonuses from fixed role bonuses. It also shares the Gnosis' "jack of all trades" design philosophy, receiving bonuses to all major weapon types and being able to be tanked in any way desired.

Here are the work in progress stats as they stand today. We'll be making tweaks as needed using your feedback and playtesting.

Sunesis
GÇ£The Sunesis-class SoCT Destroyer allows any acolyte to protect the investigations and secrets of the society.
Since it has very low skill requirements, any capsuleer can pilot it. It serves well in research and exploration but truly comes into its own in combat, with extremely fast align time.
This is a ship that shows its value when understanding the universe requires a strong hand as well as a sharp mind."

The racial imbalance from the gnosis is carried over to this ship as well but to a lesser extent.

Assuming one tech 2 dda caldari and minmatar alphas will get about 55 dps from the 3 fed navy hobgoblins they can use. Gallente and amarr will get about 108 dps from the 4 fed navy hobgoblins they can use.

Perhaps gallente amarr drone skills should be toned down or the missile and projectile gun damage should get a boost on this and the gnosis. Though the latter tweak may unbalance the gnosis and this ship for omegas.

I agree with this ro some extent.

I would prefer that ccp give a bpc not a fully built ship. Then people would have to access the sandbox to build their gift.

That being said I do support ccp being able to reward players and thank them for trying to come up with new and creative ways to show subscribers appreciation.

From memory to build the Gnosis is 1 Trit.
This keeps it's insurance payout to about 5 isk for platinum meaning that it injects no isk into the economy for blowing up free ships.

... I still like the idea of bpc's to encourage people to get involved in some industry, and as a boost to miners. .... I appreciate what ccp is trying to do.

Alphas are racially locked so are restricted by their races ship drone bandwidth limits anyway. Allowing drones 5, medium drone 2 at least makes no difference to many of the ships they can fly.

You would risk 30-40 mio ship with alpha clone? Remember - unlike Gnosis, that ship will be unique, no anniversary BPC, regular gifts etc....
