If I were you I'd upgrade a bit though. 2 gig of ram and never touch ANY video card with 'hypermemory'. That simply means it doesn't have ANY memory at all and steals it from the system.

However, CCP will continue supporting the DX9 version of the game until further notice. So I would think your computer will at least hang on to the game for the next year, not sure about two years, though. Eve is a very CPU-dependent game, more than other resources, so that will be the main concern.

Of course, you will have the choice to play with low resolution but honestly it is no fun. If you are willing to spend some cash now, just wait another 6 month, put some more money aside and get a better computer. The most important in Eve is the graphic card.

Ok, I know Eve is not graphic power hungry so to give you a better example, I run Call of Duty 2 at 1900x1200 with all filters at max, now how does that sounds for a cheap laptop?

Also, for the GPU, try to get atleast a mid range one (ex. 7600). All the low ends are crap IMO and i wouldnt trust them in any game. Arrow Capital Ship Sales

CPU: Turion 1.6GHz GPU: x700 pci-e 128MB dedicated ram 2 Gig of 333 100 GB 5400rpm HDD onboard ac 97 sound. Plays eve well and good for the mo, should be ok for a while yet :)
