Greetings dear GM,
As you may learn recently lots of Chinese people join in EVE tranquility server to start their new EVE life from EVE Chinese server due to the reason we all know, which said EVE Chinese server may closed in 2017 for the end of the contract. As a Chinese EVE tranquility player IGÇÖm so glad that we can meet more bros in tranquility server and obviously tranquility serverGÇÖs population will more or less improved. But on the other side we also meet a problem in this issue.
1.Chinese game version needed.
Though most of us know about English but thereGÇÖs still lots of Chinese people didnGÇÖt. If we have Chinese version of EVE tranquility, there will be a booster for Chinese people to join in.
2.In game Chinese Chatting Channel needed.
Currently we have a temporary Chinese Channel for people to chat but it has a 50 peopleGÇÖs limited. This has a large gap of Chinese playerGÇÖs number in EVE life. So please allow me to suggest that we, our Chinese EVE residents need an official place to chatting and communications which is far more than 50 players.
So here is the concerns of current tranquilityGÇÖs situation. We respect the contract with EVE Chinese server and know euro. We will grateful if these suggestions can be taken seriously and access in highest possible and the sooner the better. I believe this would optimized the game experience for Chinese players in Tranquility and also have positive efforts for attract more Chinese game players (not only from EVE) in future.

I can't help but wonder if there's language in the current contracts restricting CCP from doing this until the Chinese server's contract ends. |

as a chinese player in TQ, im highly expecting the chinese client could come out. EVE needs more ppl to join in, and theres a great number of chinese players waiting for it, if theres a way to solve the language problem,u can imagine how many new players would come. and yes theres a contract between CCP and the chinese server, we dont expect the client come out now, but if its possible to put it into the future plan, whoo, that would be awesome. |

i think there is some weird bit of chinese law that would restrict this but im half remembering this and could be entirely wrong.
would love if this werent the case though , a hefty influx of players would certainly shake things up.

Its the great (fire)wall of china...by and large in IT matters business with china means putting something up on their side of that wall.
Also another issue is how to pay for the game. In Asia ccp pushes force fed local payment services. Japan's case this is nexon. Whether they handle korea as well or Korea has its own no clue. It be on a chinese players to reach this and working IT in asia....this gets fun.
Seen some funky crap dealing with Japan/Korea connections. Odd routes for traffic if you ask the ISP why they say just the way it is. This between 2 countries who are supposed to be amicable now...but aren't really (the sociology of this region tangent for days really).
Could also tell the funny story of we have a Japanese government employee work for us we can't send to our Korea site because travel for them is not allowed to Korea (government placed rule...we go wtf is this crap really). Punchline is said employee is Korean and would be of great help as translator as an additional duty. welcome to Japan....
China long story short it be even funkier as they won't be passing over payment systems to 3rd party to non-chinese and to Japan especially.....hell the f no . Nexon took over this area for eve payment...even I would be stuck on it as a US person living abroad if I don't work other angles. |

Its on CEVE and supported under that. usually under a different company section and servers.
Regular eve only has the Japanese for Asian language support because they pushed for the Japan market a few years back. If Korean market larger or the work panned out enough there'd be a Korean version but guessing that is not the case.

Don't kid yourselves. Even the dirtiest pirates from the birth of EVE have been carebears. They use alts to bring them goods at cheap prices and safely, rather than live with consequences of their in game actions on their main, from concord to prices

The channel owner or a moderator needs to set the channel from "immediate" mode to "delayed" mode...
Immediate mode only allows for a maximum of 50 people, while delayed mode has no limit.
When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

It's not just people from Mainland china, either. I live in a north american city with a majority Cantonese population, and there are plenty of adults who either simply don't speak English at all, or who speak little enough that they probably would be put off trying to play something like eve, without localization. This sort of change would certainly broaden the market.
Also, chinese insults are one of my fondest memories from dronelands 2008. |

Lot of bright people in China, couldn't help but improve the quality of play worldwide. Russians and their Cyrillic alphabet seem to be doing OK, I remember an occasion when a Russian miner got ganked, the screen filled up with Cyrillic characters but we all pretty well understood the message. Just seems to me the more people we get playing in these massive, global games the more we understand each other and maybe, just maybe, it could help humanity grow up to the point where we could work together to solve the world's problems. Hell, if I was a spy for whoever the Local Chat would be just the coolest drop on the planet.

In 2014-15 plex was 5ish billion isk. would not like to see this happen here.
Also what ever happened to the reason Chinese players had to get their own server? Domestic laws on personal information or some such.

I've been playing EVE for like a decade. When I show this game to my Chinese friends, most of them are interested. But most of they also give up at last because of the language. If the game support Chinese, I can play with my friends and fly with them in the same universe.

+1 there already is a Chinese client, so someone already did the legwork.
You can change the chatchannel to get more than 50 people yourselves, as long as someone can change the settings (Channel owner or moderator).
Click on the chat channel and select the cogwheel 'Channel Settings'
Click Open Channel settings window
Change Memberlist to Delayed Mode.

I believe this would optimized the game experience for Chinese players in Tranquility and also have positive efforts for attract more Chinese game players (not only from EVE) in future.

You are assuming that it could happen here. The basic institutions in Tranquility will likely prevent this. It is my understanding that on Serenity RMT was largely unchecked. Claerly not the case on Tranquility.

Not sure why you refering GFW here. The thing that made Serenity was Chinese government requires every online game to put its server on chinese soil, hence you see WoW, League of legends, Steam, Battlenet, all have their mainland china couterparts.
The client localization is another issue. We believe the contract between CCP and eve's china proxy includes a buyout that forbids this. We find simplied Chinese language in CCP's database as well. |

I don't see whats the problem now. I am currently located in China (no, I'm not chinese) and i can play normally WITH or WITHOUT VPN. Its a bit slow, yes ( no matter if its China Unicom or China Mobile), but i manage to control 4 toons at a time.
Also half of my ships are named with Chinese characters, which are perfectly readable by the client.
My point is , if a chinese dude wants to play here on Tranquility, he could do it anytime, even now. |

OMG! Am I going to be the only one to give this idea a big NO. If anybody want to no why just take a look at a game called ARK. There are many other games besides ARk where the same thing has happened. I recently came back to Eve from playing ARK for a few months, just to get away from the Chinese that have ruined that game. Please don't open Tranquility up to them, do some research first. And I promise that most of you will change that +1. |

Can't stand the competition? Eve is different than ark. Or really any other game out there frankly I think it would be interesting to have the Chinese players and welcome them. It would help shake things up. |

CCP does not currently offer ANY official language channels. With the exception of the supported language rookie help channel.

Don't know if someone has mention it already(didn't read all the pages) but this easily could be fixed because this problem is about chat channel settings. You should contact chat owner to change it's from "Immediate Mode" to "delayed mode" - and problem fixed.
As for the idea +1 as well, because more players = better for everyone. |
