But dont forget that we also realy need a new skill for using more Lab slots... 11 slot max just doesnt cut it anymore, and my alts are getting rather annoyed at being turned into Lab monkeys --

As far as i can tell they just threw invention into the game to see what happened. Looks like they are dealing with problems as they crop up, data cores were what was limiting Invention and now with them being readily available (not on the market yet, the market alwayse lags behing a few weeks) BPC's are becoming more in demand and copy ques are starting to increase.
I remember copy slots being very abundant in empire space, now they are not. ------------------------------- C.D's Formula for success ------------------------------- Credit Card = Game Time Card Gametime Card = ISK Therefore Credit Card = ISK.

A max of 13 copy slots on a large Gallente POS just doesn't cut it.

Hey Sokudo, a good point well presented and... Agreed. At the moment it's only practical to have your own pos to be able to manage jobs. If that's intentional then I can understand it, but would suggest that it is an unrealistic method of enforcing the use of POS' given the prohibitive restrictions and an unpractical way of facilitating invention given the stated desire of the management of making invention a viable career choice.

Some copy slots in empire are looking more like Me slots with 10day+ wait times... (and wouldn't object to super-advanced lab ops either!) -----

As I understand correctly, You not need hi-CP BPC to start invention. 1-run enough. -- . |

For modules, yes: Maxruns-T1-BPC=>10 run T2-BPC. For ships and rigs, I think you'll get 1 run max (not using decryptors) anyways, so no need for more than 1 run copies. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

While you are at it, how about allowing copy/invention to be used by alliance members as well.
Better yet, I cannot think of a better time to finally open up POS research public tab. The infrastructure seems to be there, and one would think CCP only need press a button to allow this.
Eve has player run market, player run pvp, etc. I think it's well and truly time to allow empire POS builders to let standard public use their labs.

I personally don't see why CCP doesn't make BPO's able to be used for Invention and still be present on completion like the Data Interface. ____________________________________________________________________ "[D]rones are the alternative to everything... you defer all your combat to your cat herding skills" -Fryx, 1 |

Edited by: Aykido on 03/04/2007 17:50:02 Jarne if you use a decryptor to increase runs on a ship or rig invention, you get the decryptor modifier + 1 run with a max run copy. (the difference is much more pronounced on modules).
If you use a 1 run copy, you will get only the decryptor bonus if you use a decryptor for runs.
Without a decryptor there is no difference between a 1 run or a 10 run Covetor. You will get 1 run Hulk when successful in both instances.
With a stolen formula you get a 4 run copy if you are using a 1-9 run covetor BPC, but a 5 run copy if you are using a 10 run Covetor BPC for the invention job. This is why paying extra for a 10 run (40-60mil extra) is a wise decision. Just as paying up to 250mil for a stolen formula may be good decision if you increase your success rate up to a 5 run Hulk per 4 attempts. But at that price your cost per built Hulk are around 300mil, so not an awful lot of profit. May be better to go for a 1/10-1/20 chance of a 10 run Hulk

More slots would be good. Dont really need that mutch PE slots while ME and Copy slots tend to be crowded.

Any news on this? I tend to buy multiples of some BPOs and spread them all over the place to always have some copy job in the queue and not run out of copies... but that can't be it, can it? I mean, that won't work anymore if everybody starts to do it this way.

Agreed...It is kinda dumb to have 3ME, 3PE, 1Copy and 5 invention slots. It should be 3 slots for each type.
So when will CCP make the move and do it? =/

/me jumps on the band wagon and signs.
I'd be happy with just one extra copy slot per lab.
Medium and large labs would be nice too. That way there would be fewer labs to bounce between for loading and unloading. Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 bytes, ty - Cortes

Signed - it needs to be at least three copying slots per lab. Not five - just three.
