ok....not exactly sure if this is the right forum, so mods feel free to move it if needed...i've seen a lot of discussion around the forums to how many KM's 1 AU is....but still haven't come up with a solid answer.....just wanting to know for sure....what EVE uses as 1au.

as you can see, google refers to 1 AU equaling the above...is that what eve uses? or is it something else.....i just want to know the EXACT measurement or number or whatever that the eve server/client/world uses as 1au, whether its rounded to make calcs easier or something or not....just wanting to exact 1au to km conversion according to eve, because theres is TOO many conflicting stories i've seen on the forums (they might be correct in the real world, but i want to know what it is for the eve world)

AU = Astrometic Unit = distance from earth to sun. Yup, it's the value you quoted.

It's possible they might have rounded to to 150 000 000 km but even if they have I can't come up with a single instance where it would actually matter. If it's the system scanner you are using then just use 150k km and you will do fine.
The accuracy as displayed in AU is never more than 1 decimal which means you need a range of 18.6 AU before the difference between 14959500 and 15000000 might show up as 0.1 AU difference, possibly more depending on rounding rules. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

its more out of curiousity as to why i want to know, not so much that its going to effect anything that i do or don't do.....so yea, just curious if they have used the actual figure or if they rounded it to maybe reduce server/client calculation complexity
