Don't post killmail, even yours. Look the thread insane EW in missions. CCP has added good EW (NOS, sensor dampers, ECM, ecc.) in missions, so they are more similar to PvP but forgot that if you meet 8 NOSsing and scrambling ship in PvP (or sensor damping, et sim.) you simply die.

Kinda odd there haven't been a dec reply on the heavy EW/NOS thingy. IMO its totally overpowered and should be fixed ASAP. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many

Edited by: Mastin Dragonfly on 28/03/2007 10:42:14 Think I'm glad my Cargo Delivery mission is vs Serpentis... Odd I get that from an Amarr agent, it's the only mission where I see Serpentis, at least sensor dampening doesn't kill me... Wierd that you had a wave spawned on killing a frigate, for me the trigger is a cruiser. I tend to kill battleships first in the new missions since triggers are connected to either cruisers or frigates. Except for The Assault.

Came damn close to losing my CNR to this mission vs Blood Raiders as well . The NOS really hurts in this mission, but I was lucky and managed to get all the scrambling frigs with my drones and get out.
I have a perma-running Gist B XL tank (2 x DG invul and Gist X Amp). I can accept that being nossed means I will lose the ability to perma-run the booster - but the number of ships nossing you from 40km away is rediculous and kills your cap too quickly.
I am all in favour of increased mission difficulty and EW from the situation pre-1.4 patch, but I think they have gone too far and it would be nice to see a Dev comment (Zrakor?) on the excessive damping by serps, jamming by guristas and nos by bloods.
(At least Minnie EW is useless so Angels can't target paint you to death and sansha tracking disruptors don't do too much to a CNR )

Weird, I had no problem in my T1/T2 domi on that mission. In fact I liked it, there where a number of nice bounty BSs that where fairly easy to kill. The nos was a bit annoying, but I had two NOS equipped and it seemed to negate all of them nossing me.
---------- I gave up on sigs. As all the beatings are starting to hurt and leave nasty bruises. |

Note: Every mission you dont know about go in a cheaper ship than my navy raven.l Maybe a dominix that is tanked with tech 1. After you loose your 100m get in your 4b navy raven fitted with pith and own with proper setup. After 4 years you can learn something new.

Sounds like your friend killed TWO trigger targets.
I had this mission first day out...there are a couple of trigger targets that will hurt...best is NOT to lock separate targets...kill one, count to 10 (or 30, if it's laggy ) before deciding what to kil next. None of the reinforcements on this wave are themselves trigger ships as far as I know...so kill each wave as it spawns...the trigger ships do pathetic DPS, so you should be able to tank them. ---

This mission gave me a fright as well. Have become used to being able to run my setup non stop thru a mission.
I did modify my setup before this one by adding Heavy Nos because of problems a corp mate told me about with Blood Raiders nossing.
However, it is NOT neccesary to kill the NPC's in this mission. All that is required is to pick up the cargo and warp out. So my suggestion is to tank the initial Blood Raiders, identify the scram Frigs , eliminate those and get out.

Unfortunalte not everyone likes to spread skillsd around and ebcom e a jack off all trades, some of us like being able to centered around 1 race only
This mission si ridculous and i hope he gets his ship back, the blood one ****** his tank hardcore, so i dont care how many of u did it and wanna brag, he had no nos fitted, having 8 corpus harbingers nos u usuijkng bs size nos means ur dead, end of story

I like that rats are using more stuff, but these unsolvable puzzle situations are bad.
This will turn risk/reward on its ear a bit, but consider for missions it's not exactly risk vrs reward, so much as effort vrs reward, specailly in the lvl 4 realm.
Most people that can do lvl 4s, have enough standing to reject a mission and have more than 1 lvl 4 agent. See a crappy mission, you reject it and go someplace else for 4.5 hours - zero risk, zero effort, zero reward.
Frankly, I'd spend five hours on a mission jumping in and out a lot if I knew I could jump out. I'd be willing to put in the effort - But I'm not going to put in the risk when an alternative of less risk exists and is available.
I humbly suggest to CCP, if you wish to use lots of NOS, SD, ECM, et alia rats, then drop the warp scrambling for those missions. The unsolvable puzzle requires two ships to solve, which isn't always possible and is not expected in the lvl 4 realm, although that may have been a design goal long ago, it's not the result. It's not a risk issue, it's an effort issue. -AS |

You're arguing against the wrong thing: It's not this mission that need a nerf, it's the NPC EW in general...

I've run this mission a few times in my Domi, the first time was kind of scary as I didn't know what to expect and almost lost my ship. Used 5x Hobgoblin II's to take out the scrambling frigs first, as fast as I could, so I could warp out. I got away with about 15% cap left.
I now fit myself with 3x Heavy NOS's, that seem to help a lot although the Blood Battleships still can outrange you on the NOS (30k +) luckily they like to orbit around 20k so it's not too bad. I think our NOS's cancelled each other out at that point.
I have not had any trouble with it since that first time now that I know what I am getting into. I think it's a pretty fun mission.

Indeed, this exists and has bitten myself and my corp several times. It goes hand in hand with drone aggro as one of the most annoying things possible in missions.
If CCP want group missions to ever be possible, they have got to fix these bugs. ----------------

I actually laughed out loud when I saw that kill mail. Warping into a mission with a ship like that when you have no clue what to expect is just silly. You shouldn't use a ship if you arn't willing to lose it. Why should someone be allowed to benefit from a multi billion setup and then complain and get it back if they happen to die.
People are doing this mission in cheap domi's... so the problem lies in the method of fighting it with a CNR. Nerf domi's and boost CNR's it seems.

maybe the domi pilots are just better at it? might be something like, "hey i spent 2b on the tank. i should be able to tank any mission then"..

I don't think it goes hand in hand with drone aggro...I think it's the same problem. There's something in the mission code that basically says "IF {number of attackers} > 1 THEN {all aggro}". And in "attackers" it's including ANY player controlled object...be it a corp mate or a drone. The same missions that have drone aggro problems are ALWAYS the ones that will aggro if you bring a friend too. It's badly broken, but the plain simple fact is that CCP don't give a stuff, because it's not PVP. ---

im sorry about that (well, heh, like it's my fault??) but this mission is actually very doable solo in a raven.
Just fit an XL booster, 2 EM and 2 thermal hardners and whatever else you want.
How that setup - an XL gistii booster X TYPE - died I have no idea. Either that mail has been faked (any to be honest with all those nice things you can easily fit tech 2 missiles - why dont you have them yet??) or the character was bought off of ebay.
I've ran the mission twice and the first time I did I had no idea what to expect. I use a type C and I didnt drop below 90% and that was on an omni tank (1 of each type of hardner) because I didnt know what to expect from "WOM" (never having done them before).

I rave about this in every topic, but WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST THAT OFFICER AND FACTION MODS ARE A PREREQUISITE OF MISSION RUNNING.
Moreso, these pieces of equipment DO NOT MAKE YOU INVINCIBLE. So please don't complain if a mission pops you in this gear.
Plus your fit is missing a cap injector, this can stave off four heavy nos permanently

I think that this a first try by CCP to build missions doable only by a gang.
I can accept it, and I can even be happy that they are testing them, my only dubt is that some better information about the need of one or more gangmates isn't given in the briefing text.
Today we have the red "this mission route pass in low sec" warning.
Add a "this mission is rated for multiple players" warning.
If you try it alone it is your choice.

Hmm, I jumped in blind and VERY drunk with my deadspace-Domi tank, trundled over to the can, looted the quafe and sat still, while killing everything.
I did notice I was being nossed by multiple targets, but since the first ships I always kill are the scramblers, I didn't get worried.
TBH, maybe the nos level is variable, as I literally sat there and just taked away. My cap never fell below 60% ish... and I had smarties equipped, not nos.
Also, I took my time killing as I was new to the mission and was wondering if another wave was going to keep coming.
I don't know what to suggest except going in first with a shuttle and checking things out... Personally, I like the mission... but I run a Domi ;)

At 1st EW whitch NPC are using is crazy, i was permajamed for half hour in The assault mission by 4 cruisers (1/2h whitch took my drones kill those high resistant cruisers with help 6 torps every few minutes i succesfully targeted some ship). Same is with crazy dampening and hevy nosing on some other missions.
I know CCP want us to use fleets in lvl 5+ missions, but doing same in else easy missions is ridiculous.
About point domini doing this mission have no problem is because domini have drones as main weapon and can then use all highs for nos.
About not using cap injector for shield tanking ship, did you thought for second where will you put it ? Its midleslot and thats mean using it will weaker your tank, and it also require a lot of cargospace already filled by torps (for example raven use 6 torps, whitch is 6x0.2m3 just to fire once and CNR have 7 torps) and 75m3 for dronebay is not best either, not mentioning with all that CPU/powergrid hungry stuff its hard to fit more then 1 heavy nos, it actualy need some faction stuff to even fit T2 mods in raven.

Wrong, wrong and wrong.
torps take 0.1, not 0.2, that means you can fit 2000 torps (more than enough for any mission), and have 400m3 free for 800s, 4 of which fit in the injector, giving you a total carrying capacity of 16 cap booster 800s.
not enough tank? You fit inefficiently. By and large you need no more than 3 hardeners, 2 of primary damage type, one of secondary. That leaves room for an XL booster, Cap injector and hell, a 4th hardener if you so desire,, i fit a target painter for more DPS and have no trouble with the mission.
My fit for missions: 3* T2 Siege Launcher 3* Arbalest Siege Launcher 1* salvager 1* tractor beam 2* primary hardener, 1* secondary 1* XL Emergency CL-5 Shield Overcharge (or whatever it is) 1* target painter 1* heavy cap injector 4* T1 named PDS 1* Ballistic Control
And I run all missions in this solo. Standard raven, NOT CNR. And if i lose it,, woo, i lost 200 mil in ship and fits, not 4 bil.

Really id like to see a mission that TELLS you to bring remote HP support with you.
*agent blahblah says* I Strongly urge you to bring a small gang capable of remote support.
or something like that.
I run a pithX-XL with X-type amp and X-type hards, Im going to add an injector when I goto do this one.
Nossing NPC's really dices things up a little, I love it.

Well, i wrote this from work so 0.2 or 0.1m3 is due not updated item database Oh realy ? try to do with that setup some litle harder L4s whitch can give around 2000 DPS and sometime even from all 4 types where I would love to see you put omnitank with just 3 hardeners, or do even mission with EM primary dmg where your 2 hardeners are clearly not enough. I remeber i got once webed in mission in closerange near gun ships whitch did enough dmg to break my tank with 91% resists and T2 XL booster running under 60s and i was just lucky kill in that time 2 scraming frigs and get out with about 25% shields. About ammount of torps used in missions, thats betwen 1-4.5k in L4s. And no, my skills dont sux, i am able solo WC with 1 or 2 warpouts (all rooms) as well as GE, pirate slaughter, the assault etc, only mission giving me still problems doing solo is AE especiely bonus room. What i am using is: 6x arbalest siege + some nos droneling augmentor or etc T2 XL SB, 4-5 T2 hardeners plus eventuely targetpainter on some missions T2 CPU, T2 DC, 2x T2 PDU, T2 BC My Shileds skills are mostly lvl4 with some l3 and one lvl 5, missiles about 3-4 with one on 5. I thing my skills are not bad especialy with consideration of creation account in december 2006.

Edited by: Bill Weyland on 29/03/2007 18:10:02 Ouch, that's a heck of a loss. I just complete this mission in a shuttle (normally Gallente, I just like the way they look).
Might not work so well against missile users, but versus Serpentis I never get touched until I'm at the can and looting. After that I pretty much insta-warp out and turn in the mission for the reward. It's an easy couple million isk + 4500 LP for 3 minutes work.
Also, if you have extra Quafe in your hanger, just fly in until you get the warning, then fly back to base and give your agent the hanger quafe. Cuts an extra 15-20 seconds off the mission and you don't have to worry about your shuttle getting popped. You'll be out of there before you can even get targeted.

Actualy last so far i lost 3 ships in game, 1xkestrel and 1x caracal due to my lack of experience in 1st 2 weeks and drake 2 weeks later on some tough L3 mission lagged to hell, but didnt even bothered with petition as i had another drake fully fited an hour later. I found this mission and Damsel in distress most interesting ones from all new missions added.

I like the EW. Adds a bit of flavour and separates the men from the whining grinders. I've done it a few times in my ishtar and all I had to do was fiddle with the reppers a bit after a nos cycle. Too much EW is not that kind of flavor that most seek. Like some already have said, they made the mission rats harder but forgot to reduce the number of rats.
And as said in a devblog, they want to reduce the gap between lvl 3s and lvl 4s. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many

But it could be designed against cap dependant ships and make you adapt and use a passive setup. Why should one ship and one setup rule all missions?
If they want to make it more like pvp, especially if they start making missions more dynamic instead of just the same old rats every time you run the mission, then one setup won't always work.

If anything, the mission needs to be made HARDER. As in, I don't know, have one of the reinforcements triggering ships/groups "guarding" the structure with the mission objective, so you actually have to kill them first. _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

Simple way to beat this mission? Slap an AB on a passive drake/Myrm and make a run for it. On Guristas, I know a Drake can tank 6+ BS and the cruiser/BC support so there is no need to kill anything but the scram frigs.

Well, personally, I prefer to do the mission as it probably will be after they fix that minor bug. As with WC, I assume the Warehouse is locked and blow everything up. After that I loot the Quafe and go my merry way. It is a very decent missions, in fact I am very happy with most of the new missions, so far been very lucky not to get a Blood Raider so not experienced any heavy NOS'ing myself.

Just tried this mission a few times (the Coreli kind) - eversince the rats spawned it goes like: i jump in, my FPS dies (far less than 1 FPS), i warp out and find my armor's almost gone. Tried warping to 100 km, ended up in same spot. I wouldn't even dare asking people for help with this, it feels way too suicidal. I think i'll have to fail the mission. It's totally unplayable for me tonight due to client stuttering.

Basically this is one of those missions that isn't very hard but because a few people lost billions of isk of stuff they think the mission needs a nerf. Every time I hear someone say a mission is impossible there is someone else who says they did it with mostly T1 gear.
I'm very happy that some missions may actually have a tiny chance of killing me now... pre 1.4 there wasn't even a slight chance of that. Missions shouldn't be a cakewalk... there should be some risk, even if you spent billions of ISK on your ship.

It could be, at that, but that's not "designed against CNRs" ... and honestly, I doubt it, game design should be "against all types of ships/setups" ... that's called balance, and it's the thing the CCP is trying to do with this game ... because all ships and all setups should be able to do the mission.
BTW, I use a Dominix for my missions (without NOS), I haven't received that mission (yet), but I'll try to adapt my fittings and strategies to beat it if I ever receive it ...

And : don't get the phat bounties, potential good loots, and salvage from the mission.
Gains : a fraction of what could be done.

I'm not posting this to rag on anyone else, just FYI: I did the BR one blind in a 3 CCC T2 raven fitting and made it through; warped out once after I realized the reinforcements were nossing me hard. The difference may have been that there was no EW; I was, however, being nossed so bad that my cap was at a standstill with 3 CCC, my own nos running, and my cap at peak regen ~30%. So, that's a good bit of nos.
I would rather CCP be gentle in nerfing 'interesting' new missions because, -thank god- there is finally some flavour to missions; but perhaps put a red warning on ones that are ship-killers to prevent too many harsh ship losses to people who are ignorant of the mission-resources (web pages, forums, channels) available to them.

I enjoy hard missions but this is getting ridiculous.
The scrambler friggies are the worst. It's one thing to be able to size up a mission and see you're not equipped for it, warp out and try again. It's still the same thing to know you have to be quick on the warp button if you're severely outclassed so you can get out before the ship pops. But it's a whole 'nother thing when the scramble friggies are involved. "Oh, you aren't capable of handling the mission on your own? Now that you've realized that, allow us to blow up your ship. MUHAHAHAHA!"
Sheesh, if I wanted to experience that sort of thing I could have just gone lowsec.

or something like that.
I run a pithX-XL with X-type amp and X-type hards, Im going to add an injector when I goto do this one.
Nossing NPC's really dices things up a little, I love it.
Before the patch, you could tell how tough the mission would be based on the lp and reward. With the EW changes, I'd say the rats are hitting just about twice as hard (or at least feels twice as hard) so it's time to seriously reevaluate our expectations of difficulty.

Personally I like this one. Nice quick cash and salvage. But then I don't solo L4s in the real meaning of the word. I have my logistic alt along all the time and if my pals join in they either take over the logistic function or wait till the end of the night to get a split off the alt.
CCP wants people to use remotes on each other apparently. Either your buddies do it or an alt but it sure makes things a whole lot easier.

Also being damped under 20k was pretty annoying, managable, but annoying.

The main problem i have with this issue, is that we (as missionrunners) werenŠt informed enough about this change. Or maybe i missed that info somewhere in patchnotes ???
A simple line would have been sufficient, that the NPC behaviour had been changed.
I also lost my ship on this mission, but then again....maybe i should have used a cheaper ship for scouting before just jumping in feeling invincible

well i have a simple answer... PASSIVE TANK..
heavy nos = pointless
actually ew stuff minus target disrupters = pointless
yeah.. you have to warp more .. just pop the warp disrupt rats and call it a day...
if ccp could balance passive a bit more.. it would be used a lot more then a bloody active tank that everyone and their mum uses..
its called options... Passive against EW= FTW |

Okay, now done this 3 times, and a corpmate has now done it 2x.
We both fly Domis. I have 22 mill sp, he has 5 mill. We both have tank and drone focused skills.
Our basic fit: 5 cap 2's in the mids, 1 or 2 faction smarties, 2 Heavy NOS, 2x hards in each damage type (em/therm). 1 deadspace repper, or 2 t2 lar's...
result: 50% cap when being nossed, 65% if using Nos to counteract the npc nossing.
Tips: Kill the Harbingers when they pop up (those are the nossers), but kill the scramblers first. Be prepared for the respawn as soon as you kill one of the other ships, then sit back and relax. As long as you have cap, you have life. Just align before you kill the scramblers... once you pop those first, you can always warp out before being nossed to death or getting into trouble otherwise.
It's simple for a Domi tbh...
Of course, I don't speak of other ships or setups....

Took a few minutes to take me down to 50% shield, figured I can hold out but was lagging, oh well nothing new. Turns out not all the enimies were in good range, POP goes the drake, guess thats what I get for not playing the resist game with those Blood Raiders. I too lost a raven too the blood raider level 4 version. Warped in and trundled over to the warehouse. Got jumped by the first lot warping in (web/scram). Killed 1 cruiser and the BS's came in. My tank held up ok for a while and the BC that was running with me did ok. The DPS was huge though and I could not locate which ships were scramming me. My tank failed. I died. Scratch 3 ravens now to the new missions. At least it left most my mods behind in a pretty little wreck.
I hereby endorse Lyn Bunnions's idea. Maybe CCP have decided that not all missions should be won for force. They did mention that perhaps cov ops and inties etc might be ships of choice for certain missions. The only real thing I have to say is that perhaps a warning that missions should be scouted if they are unfamiliar. Perhaps a threat rating system from the agent might help. The missions description seems deliberately set to surprise you. Like the devs wanted a BS killing mission to see what would happen to the market or something.

I think they were just plotting againt mission running carebears, and indirectly made Pirates look nicer and friendlier. Last I checked I never had a mission rat convo me and ransom me . I know I wouldve just took the ransom to save my ship in a heartbeat.
and just for the heck of it I try to start something new Fear the GANK RATS!!
Dude that Scammer just ninja'ed that Carebare's wallet!! |

Hard to take you seriously, Boomhaur, when you mispell "Carebear" in your sig. Didn't anyone ever mention to you that spellcheckers are worthless? :)
I think the point some of you, like Boom, are missing is that some people don't want to pvp and don't want missions that are pvp clones. This mission isn't worth doing if CCP is going to keep the dozens of rats using EW. If CCP is going to put this in as a lvl 5 eventually, that's fine. If CCP intends to keep it as is, well, this "carebare" will keep declining it.

This mission is doable in a fast ship with a half decent tank. All you have to do is pickup the item and run.
It's only if you wanna hang around and bust things up that it gets rough. I'm really sick of getting damped. Given that I have 8x1400s, getting damped under 20k gets old really fast.

Ok lets try this again......
Unfortunalte not everyone likes to spread skillsd around and ebcom e a jack off all trades, some of us like being able to centered around 1 race only
This mission si ridculous and i hope he gets his ship back, the blood one ****** his tank hardcore, so i dont care how many of u did it and wanna brag, he had no nos fitted, having 8 corpus harbingers nos u usuijkng bs size nos means ur dead, end of story
lollerskates! You want some cheeze to go with your whine? Adapt, you ninny. If people can run these missions with readily available equipment, instead of cost prohibitive factionware, then you should look yourself directly in the eye, smack yourself on the forehead, say "doh! I goofed. Maybe I should change my tactics so I don't lose billions in ships and equipment!" and stop complaining.
I mean, really: regular joe items ftw and you guys lost all that factionware. lol
ignorance + arrogance = (get what you deserve)^2
Thanks. I needed a good laugh before bedtime ;)

This one got us too, but in a more humurous way than losing a CNR
We had 5 corp mates running level 4s for training and fun, trying to use the TS server for tactics, etc. One of them pulled this and thought "okay, a courier mission". Told us to wait while he finished it and warped off.
Thing is this is our "tanker"; heavy tanked Domi, dual reps with injectors, 85%+ resists, etc. We also have tank assist ships we augment him with. And what did he take into this mission? His salvaging destroyer because it has more cargo capacity to haul the stuf with. Gets into it, several BS and support ships spawn and before he could think about warping got popped.
After much foul language on TS we jumped in and cleaned it up for him <-----------> Keiron: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=427556&page=2

Sorry but this thread is stupid, please change the headlines, the devs are looking on this kind of threads and will take them away from highsec if people complain about new missions (read the devblog on this issue). It is expecially stupid to call for a nerf for this mission. Don't know if it was already mentioned, but you can do this combat lvl 4 mission in a shuttle! Buy the stuff the agent wants (quafe ultra for caldari version), fly in a shuttle, once first spawn appears fly back to your agent and finish the mission. Voila, no need to go with a CNR there.

Just tried this mission a 2nd time.
By the 3rd time i warp in, the game becomes unplayable due to lag. (I warp in, screen freezes for approx 20 secs, ship appears halfway through armour, i warp out, screen freezes, approx 20 sec later i see my ship again, in hull. 3 drones didn't make it back either - another old problem)
So again, i took the easy way out. I don't mind a challenge but this feels like turn based russian roulette.
Obviously, the lag / stuttering client problem is still here. But why make a mission that provokes it?
