Nope. I like spicewine and yesterday I had to pick up and deliver shopping for Mrs Agent at a nearby station. Oh joy! But in a rifter with MWD, a single Lvl 1 agent mission takes about 1.4 seconds. Easy.

Don't the people who hate agents just not use them, and mine, or hunt rats, or build stuff, or do long-haul trading, instead?
So why would anyone feel it necessary to have them removed?

We used to, but most of those avenues have been closed now due to over-enthusiasm in spawning mega-rats everywhere.
This game is just like Freelancer now

Didn't they already fix that problem? I've even heard people complaining that the NPC battleship spawns are too RARE, already.

also since the tech 2 bps are all coming from agents then it pretty much means that if you want them then u will do the agent missions much lik ein E&B at high lvls if you wanted to lvl then you did job terminal missions.

Agents suck!!, but there is no other way to get tech 2 or improve your SS rating.
Agent Strangulation should be one of the new skillsą5% less chance of a crappy mission out fear of client retaliation.
... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture. |

Kill them all and use these 33 Basic Cargo Expanders I got from then so far for their body parts...... Your Heavy Neutron Blaster II perfectly strikes Serpentis Chief Sentinel, wrecking for 660.4 damage.

Edited by: Stuart Ward on 23/12/2003 17:44:21 Agents are by far the worst mistake ccp ever made when producing this game.
I tried agent missions, got up to about 40 Lev III. Never again !!
What i find so sad about them is that this is supposed to be a Multiplayer game and its so very single player orientated.
What makes it even worse now is that it is the single only way of getting Tech II !! Who's bright idea was that ????

Or do anything else whatsoever in the game which is profitable, and then buy them.
Nobody thought of that?

To be fair, NPC rats should drop skills and BP's too. After all, they are using Tech II, they must have them somewhere!!

Yeah, I'd ignore them... But... now my station takes 5% of Minerals I refine because my Rating for the corp that owns the station is so low. Over the last few days, I'm now spending more time doing agent missions than mining! and now they take 4.88888888% of minerals from me.
Gee Thanks! _______________________________

yeh, it's cr@p. I posted this elsewhere...
----------------
... I also think the T2BP lottery is flawed on two levels. Firstly the fact that players who have decided to specialise in the sciences now find they need to do agent missions in order to stand the chance to gain a blueprint. Likewise the agent runners without science skills find they need the train them. It's the scientists I feel sorry for the most.
And secondly, a blueprint is a piece of paper (aka electronic datasheet or whatever, right?) So what's the problem with the agent runner saying to the agent, I have a colleague who we can research this with, please can we? Let the standings/RP's count per player for access to the T2BP's exist and be rewarding, for sure, but don't limit BP research to said player's particular science skills. The game mechanics don't exist for this, obviously, but it sounds logical and much, much, much more interactive and involving to me. Also, this way, it broadens the scope for the BP's rewards to occur, simply through player interaction and relationships. Although I must admit that, whatever BP's are granted still seem entirely down to a CCP algorhithm.
----------------
But hey ho, there you go. Still if NCP T2 drops occur as hinted at, then that should be a little better.

you'd think that corp faction would go up the more you use a station... for refining, for buying and for selling stuff... as they take a chunk of the profits anyways. I mean like 0.1% for a million dollars worth of commerce that way to keep your faction with a group you would have to move around 50 million dollars worth of stuff a week...

I have personally done about 5 missions. I wont touch another one. I would rather beat my head against rock in space than to see some dumb arse npc telling me go do this, go do that, if your lucky with 1000 missions you might get a tech 2 bp. farq that.

If there's one thing wrong with Agent Missions, it's the rewards and bonuses.
They need to be more transparent to allow you to judge the risk of failing/skipping a mission.

Wasn't specialisation the whole point? Why should the guy who is good at collecting blueprints be the same guy who is good at researching them?
