i have had similar thoughts about this
if you offer a supscription service and then consistantly fail to provide it they usually start fining

i feel sorry for ccp tbh.
They slowly but surely improved their game for their veteran playerbase and before they knew it the server peaks went from 5k to 35k.

I logged in and it said I was #22 in queue (EVE has queues?!?). I re-picked Tranquility and now it's stuck at "checking status." Are they defibrillating the hamsters?

the player base grew to this size because they kept pushing the product
all those adverts and reviews and awards proclaiming how amazing eve is while strangly not commenting on the lag problems
the whole game industry does it and its nothing new but the difference with eve is you pay every month
ok so its a subscription game i can live with that but when you charge a sub responsability comes with it
personally i think the real gamers at ccp got locked in the stationary cupboard and the accountant has the ear of management now
an example of this is vivox, many people on this forum are vocally against vivox and yet still we are going to get it
why is this? because if joe noob thats never seen 0.0 buys into it its going to supply revinue and who cares if the tiny % of the player base that post against it get upset?
its the same with 0.0 fleet fights, ccp can afford to crap on the veteran players and not care if people get angry and leave, so long as they can keep shoe-horning more people into the game, people who will likely take up vivox from the start without even thinking (ill bet there will be a tickbox on the signup screen), its very cheap after all 
some people will say im just a ccp hater and this is a cynicle rant but this whole situation makes me sad because eve could have been so good

Thank you also CCP. For almost 120 minutes of black screen, during my time "playing" your game my only action was "F5 F5 F5" the freaking forums.This is absurd...

Past experience told me this would happen and I accepted it before going to battle. If someone can find another mmo where 1000 man battles is possible feel free to enlighten us :)

Its just poor play by CCP people allover the eve universe are suffering from poor gameplay and reduced performance (if any). Now a Reboot might fix this (who knows) but i guess all the GM/Admins etc are busy in the conflict somewhere else (defending bob space or something). The amount of downtime lately is getting pretty crap! My alt works in Jita great! But we lost ships to NPCs :o as they could shoot us and we couldnt activate modules or jump! F*** Ridiculous!!!!

Well I am not in a 1000 ship battle all I want to do is haul some trit.
It took 30 mins to log in to Hentogaira (0.5/The Forge) and 20 mins to dock. Can't be arsed undocking just waiting for my skills to load to start a new one off which could take another 30mins or more.
For those who are in the battle can you please move to another node tomorrow and let me play the game.

Thank you again CCP for the fantastic experience that is 0.0 territory conflict in EVE-Online.
The way you have developed your game to accomidate us players in 0.0 is just to beautiful for words.
I love jumping into a system and having my gridload right away, as well as all my modules activate. You stand so far above those other MMORPG's. I can't imagine how those other MMORPG players can tolerate staring at a black screen for hours on end. It is amazing they actually pay for that! Can you believe it!
Thank you so much for bringing us POS warfare also. Without it, I doubt I would play the game. Just being part of something so huge as defending Titans in production and other capital ships, while fighting off fleets of 300 is something I hold dear. The fact that you designed this, and actually took into account that hamsters could not possibly run fast enough to accomidate it, and developed the master plan of using gerbils....just...boggles the mind. Who would have thought those little guys could run so fast!!
In closing, thank you again CCP. You inspire us all, and we are happy to give you our money every month. Please though, make empire smaller, so everyone can experience this aspect of the game. Just some free business advice, but you can thank me later.

Well ,they must be working hard on the problem, methinks. Whats the issue, though? Do they need a supercomputer or something to handle all the players at once during fleet battles?
Well, still, I think its worth holding onto the subscription to let them fix it, eventually.
But what's up with calculator lag? That's just odd.
Good luck to you, CCP. Its a great game in its infancy here, I'm sure there's some magic tricks to fix the lag you haven't tried.
