Quote: One week ago you come to me saying I should boot most of the corps, mainly the (not yet famous) corps and double the price of alliance membership from 50mi/week to 100mil/week. All in an effort to "get some respect from the community". I talked about it with a few people that evening and we all agreed with 5 minutes it was a bad idea and would not only keep us from acheiving our original goal, it completely contradicted what this alliance is all about.
One week ago, I came to you with a plea, to raise the fee from 50 to 100 million, in an attempt to gain more war targets, as the targets had gone from many to few. The majority of red stars is flying with stabs, istabs or in shuttles, intercepters and tech I frigs. My plea was to gain more targets, and my personal attitude was that it wouldn't hurt if the alliance wen't back down to the approximate 500 members that were in when we joined it. The cause was not to gain any form of respect, but to make Privateers a bit more fun, again! I never expressed that you should boot most of the corporations, I merely pointed out, that some of the greener corporations might find 100 million too much. If my predictions are right, this would result in slightly fewer hunters and more prey. Bending words are quite ok, you just went a little too far in your attempt to downgrade us! If anyone should be interested, I'll attach the chatlog between Surrep and I to prove what I said.
Quote: Now here we are one week later and you decided to leave the alliance. But you couldnt do it on friendly terms being appreciative of the fun you had and the people who provided it.
Thank you for the fun we had. The people who provided it was ... you and Le Skunk as you setup the war decs. Like most others in Privateers we flew in corporate gangs in Privateers, not in alliance gangs.
Quote: I'll say here what I told the alliance. You have been playing for roughly 3 years. You have joined and left some of the most bad-ass corps in the game, X13, KIA. If you were capable of aceiving anything, or earnign any real respect you would have done it by now.
X13 died as we left it, no goals, no nothing, going no where. Why would I be in an inactive corp when I play 10 hours a day? KIA... Well... We tried it, wasn't our cup of tea. On day 1 Boogiez lost an Ishtar. He had to give a detailed breakdown of how this could happen, as it hurt the reputation of the corp if too many losses were taken. So in other words, you can't decide if you want to loose your own ships. This is FAR FAR FAR from what both you and I believe in! KIA bad ass? Well... they might get the job done... I just don't like doing the work they do. (All respect to KIA, It's just not for me).
Quote: If you really want to acheive anything in this game worthwhile my advice would be to find a good idea, somethign worthwhile that people will notice and commit to it.
I promise you, this is exactly what we're doing! :)
Quote: I actually kindof feel bad for your corp members because seeing how boring things got going from 150 wars to 75 I would pretty much leave the game if all I had was 2 or 3.
I thought you were smarter than this? Do you really believe that the more targets you have the more fights you'll get? Your 60+ ongoing wars provide's little more than shuttles frigs and noobships. Declaring war on Privateers, I am at least sure that my targets will be up for a fight. I'll have my fun, don't you worry.
And thanks for replying to this post btw. I didn't get any feedback on the suggestion I made over a week ago.
As for your GRAND PLAN OF CHANGE... WOW... I quote Le Skunk

In all seriousness Jmc, form your own corp/alliance and keep it where you're the one in charge as it doesnt seem like youll ever be happy NOT being the #1 shot caller. Thats all fine and well but you need to understand that if you do join an established organization youll have to work your way up and will probably never reach the very #1 spot as thats occupied by someone that spends more time in a corp than you typically do.
And the word youre looking for is morals, not morale.
Sorry, english isn't my main language!
You have a point. Which is why we joined an alliance with no obligations. Still isn't an excuse not to try and improve things. I never did want the 1st spot. I never have. I just want to be part of something I can believe in. Like Dark-Rising started out to be, a place where we were building up a new corporate structure, with Squad leaders and what not. The reason I got unsatisfied with Dark-Rising was that out of the 3-4 squads created, only ours was active. None of the other squad leaders did, excuse me for the language, **** to try and get their squad working together. We we're pulling more than our load. Others solo'ed down their own paths instead of commiting to the decisions made! All this isn't a secret. After this things went wrong... We all know, but to begin with, you guys we're on an exciting track. I commited and dedicated myself to get the train moving... It just didn't!

The squad system didnt work for us, it isolated people instead of forming tight groups. Thus it is no longer in place. Your squad was comprised of the same pilots you came into dark rising with, the same pilots you still fly with so obviously you had a head start. But thats neither here nor there.
The main point of my post was that, having only spent a short time with you in dark rising and later hearing about your choice to wardec ANOTHER group of players you shared a banner with, this seems to be a trend.
If you so deeply crave to be a part of something greater than yourself that you can believe in you might want to consider how others view you. Premier organizations have more qualifications than just K/D ratios and SP requirements...things like loyalty, willingness to work towards goals and selflessness. You want to wardec PVRT thats fine, but youre not doing yourself any favors running to the forums about it.
On the plus side I think youll find theres no shortage of people wanting to shoot you.

Mornings
Hmm Cant understand all that bad feeling .. Privateer has change alot since we joined .. more members joined and more member = less targets .. The targets found out how to avoid privateers now since there is contantly war on the same poeple whitch is a fault as well .. Sorry to say but Surrep and his crew was affraid for change the things abit and that cost them 4 top 10 pilots ...
But still we enjoyed our time in privateers and it was fun

... forming tight groups? How would a group be formed if the leader is solo pvp'ing 60 jumps out, not being aware that he's even in charge of the squad. The plan failed because ppl didn't put an effort in. Perhaps we did have a head start, but we also took in new pilots. If there had been a minimum of effort the gang leaders woud at least have contacted their squad members and tried to go on a few ops or something. nothing happened. Seeing this as people getting isolated, well, interpret it as you will. I see it as a lack of cooperation between the squads that wasn't being formed afterall.
Regarding your last comment: Hehe.. You're the first one to spot the red line.... ;)

Dont know which squad or squad leader youre talking about, my squad flew together actively with myself even leading a couple of gangs. Maybe it took more time than you were willing to give it, or maybe you just werent aware of the actions of other squads.
In the end it was discontinued because it lead to 'cliques' instead of the corp working together as a whole.
What I completely fail to understand however, is how having differences of opinion like these make it nessisary for you to war dec for former wingmen/corpmates/alliancemates.
Im sure we could argue back and forth for a while but Ive said all I have to say and wont derail your thread any farther.
Good luck in the future.

I guess I should have given it more than just 3 weeks. I guess it's expected that nothing happens within the first 3 weeks a decision have been made.
I'll make it easy for ya... 1. It's not necesarry to war dec them, it is however going to be fun. Nothing is really necesarry, it's a game! 2. Former wingmen (nope), former corpmates (nope) and.... 3. Former alliancemates (NOPE)... Privateer alliance doesn't work as an entity, as a unit. Most corporations within the alliance fly under their own flag the greater part of their online time. This is how it's meant to be. Though capable of finding the numbers to create a 30+ man gang, this gang will be crippled compared to most others as a part of it will be in tech I frigs or cruisers with little understanding of the concept of fleet warfare.
Since there have never been a bond between PA and us, there's no bond to break!
(This should bring us back on track as well) :)

I didn't read any of this rabble.
But the real problem is, absolutely no-one cares about what happens to Privateers, anyone who was ever in it, or ESPECIALLY the internal politics therein.
At best, you're a minor irritant when you forget to not AFK in Empire and lose a ship - and seeing as I'm in Empire maybe once every 3 months, it's not exactly a bother.

Do you see me posting where BoB lost their Titan Class ship in production, or KIA press releases.... I don't care about all those things. They are of no matter to me, as this is no matter to you.

Edited by: Ugluuk on 01/04/2007 11:37:18 What can i say: Come get some
These guys left Privateers with this message:
We wanna be respected and no one respects Privateers so we are leaving..
Then they turn around and attack Privateers in hopes of getting acknowledged, will gank loners and use the info they have from being in Privateers for easy targets and make a new forum post a few weks from now saying:
We owned Privateers Check the kill stats..
Sorry guys but:
You first lost all respect as you say by joining Pew pew`s..
You lost even more by letting the brain take so long to kick in and realise you were flying in an alliance that had no respect..
You didn`t have much respect in pew pew`s cause of the everyday whining in chat and the respect you had were lost when leaving..
Seems the amount of respect you have is lower than mine after 3 years as a jackass in Eve..
So why dont you: Make a new character, create a new corp and learn from your mistakes and then pray to the respect god to let it rain some respect on you..
I know what to expect from your corp..Out of 2226 kills 3 were solo Bs kills.. and some rare Bc kills here and there.. Bring the gang and try to engage before we drop to half size cause of boredom..

Was I ****ed? Look at that attrocious typing. I can forgive the wroth typo, but what the hell is with "bnoito". Serious big fat finger syndrome.
Well firstly, quoting private chat logs leaves a sour tast in my mouth, but so does wardeccing guys the majority of which you got on with a few days ago.
Raising the fee to 100million might not have been much for the more established corps, but like Syrup says in the 'smoking gun' chatlog posting (which incidentaly turned out to be more of a smoking water pistol)- a lot of our corps might disagree. Some of the small corps would not be able to keep up. Sure a few of the smaller corps could merge if they were prepared to sacrifice their corp individulaity, but of course 2 small corps paying 50mill, and one merged corp paying 100mill = exactly the same amount of isk.
One of the guiding principals of the Privateer Alliance when it was formed was to maintain the MINIMUM obstruction to people joining. No rules, no reqirements, no ass licking, alt screenshots, no requirement to do anything at all, or in fact stop doing anything at all. Just pay for a war, and share in the pot of wars. Keeping the ISK requirments low is tied in with this ethos.
HOWEVER, the privateer alliance also prides itself on being totaly open to ideas from members. We have no dictatorial leaders. Any ideas are listened to, and if the majority of peeps like the idea, we will probably incorporate it.
Going to the CEO and expecting him to instantly and arbitrarily implement something without consultaion with the ohter 90% of the alliance isnt how we operate
We are a disorganised bunch as you know - lots of things on the go,and things take time, and posting on the priv forums with you idea would have been a good start to get it implemented. Or alliance mail even to gauge others opinions. It may well be 100mill a week is totally acceptable to all corps. You didnt wait for answer.
I posted a poll on our internal forums a few days before you spat the dummy, with a question trying to gauge what level of warfare people were wanting for exactly this aim.
Anyhows to the guy who complains of us airing Privateer dirty laundy in public, well Mclane isnt a privateer, and this is the forum for Corp announcement/debate i believe. As he rightly says, dont post/read if you aint interestd.
Also im coming for you mclane, I coming for you in an tristan. Im not kidding. I have it fitted. You wont be able to rest for one second in this game. I can get that tristan firing in staions maaaan. one minute you will be happily camping.. then POW im there! Ive persoanly place a bounty of 5 isk on your head, and im a tight ass so i want to claim it!!

Firstly this is a "game"... so some people need to calm down.
When i first joined Privateers i loved it, logged on and killed stuff... i've always wanted to do that in eve! After the first few days i admit i got a bit bored because not ONCE did a target fire back at me they always got creamed before they got a lock (well 98% of the time). I don't believe that i have shown a lot of my PVP potential in Privateers but i know fighting them will challenge me.
The following couple of weeks will be fun ... VERY fun

X13 formed Barracudas alliance. It worked for a month or two. Then people went idle, corporations left, players left, and as far as I know X13 was close to inactive for a while, having lost some players, and the ones left having other things to tend to.
X13 perhaps wasn't dead. It just went from a corp forming and expanding an alliance, to half the corp it once was (number wise).

Troubadour it has nothing to do whit who is scared of who we arent scared of ya either FYI ... it has something to do whit privateers has been too big and the is too many bad eggs in that alliance and there is no new goals .. it was fun but not anymore ... been there done that .. See it on the flipside we are not the only corp who left seems to many corps is tired of privaters since the head of the alliance not bring new things into it so its could be the beginning to the end for them

From its concept the Privateer Alliance was designed as a roll in roll out alliance. No forms to fill in. No conctract tieing you to the alliance.
Anyone can leave at any point and have the good wishes from the rest of us. This is an indication of strength, not of weakness.
Using this strength as an attempt to discredit us is absurd.
If you left with a wave and a "thanks for the memories, but we got tired of the lifestye" attitude would have been nice.
Your in game elitest attitude, posting of persoanl chat logs and general bridge burning demeanour leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. A mixture of poo, tobasco, and lemon juice.
Corps come and go, many stay for a long time, many go and return.
None of them have seen fit to wardec their former allies though.
Except you guys.
I note with EXTREME interest, it seems to be a habit with you to wardec ex allies.
Is this some sort of bizarre character flaw i wonder.

I had some respect for you while you were part of SL and even when you guys left i still had respect for you, SL may have not been for you it's not for everyone. but after the other week in Amarr Local i lost all respect that i may have had, after a fight that was pretty even SL came out on top and everyone was saying GF in local and then you jump in with your holyer than though attitude and start to smack us. which didn't end well for you as Rubyor came on and b**ched you out to the point where over the next few days you spent waiting for the one off kills which as far as SL is concerned didn't come, cloaked or docked.

you go on about war targets running around in Inties and stabbed out T1 frigs yet most of the time when i saw a Righteous Choirboys they were in an Inty. so I ask you again why did you not just leave it be and carry on with your eve life?
